The lav-m. I'm still pretty novice and I used some techniques I've learned that I havnt used before like turpentine washes and such on top of a future coat. I'm happy with it. Thanks to my secret Santa I had a good time

Looking fine.  Are you done with it or is there more?  The mud on the tires make me think a diorama is forthwith.

Thanks, Man. All my kits are on hold at the moment. I am doing some custom mods to my real life truck and no time for kits. I'll be back at them soon.

I'd choose the truck mods too!  It's an awesome feeling wiping the grease off your hands while admiring the handy work!  Good luck.

I have not forgotten about this GB!  My Rufe is "almost" finished.  Tamiyas decals failed me on the vertical stab; I had to lightly sand them off.  I'm going to use another set of numbers that came witht he kit for a differnt scheme.  It wont be historically accurate, but it will still look great!

Ive got that same Ta-152 in the stash and the paint work needed kinda frightens me. But, I'll tackel it eventually.

SubarooMike
 It wont be historically accurate,

How many kits do we build are actually "accurate". I personally subscribe the school of it "represents" a particular type of plane. Accuracy is not as important on the scheme to me as getting the look of the plane right. If you know what I mean.

Well I am finally getting somewhere with my PT-17 Stearman.  Boy this has been a challange.  The color has been kicking my butt.  I have repainted the bird three times and still have been finding problem areas.  I have to stop due to the fact the paint is building up and I am starting to loose details.

Here she is as of now.  I still have final assembly and detailing.

This one shows the rigging.  That was a challange but fun.  I love the way the line turned out.

Thanks for looking.

Dolphin, your Lav looks great.  I might have to add one to my stash.

Thanks for the kind words Brandon.  But it drives me crazy when I like the result and then spot a mistake.

Here is the final pictures of my PT-17 Stearman.  It has been a challange and fun build.  I never built a bi-plane before and one with such a touchy paint job.  I didn't do any weathering.  I guess because I like the look and figured that the US Navy would have kept their trainers in good condition.

First up shows the radiator lines and a view of the rigging.

Next up shows where the bigger mistakes show up.  I had a couple of light spots that I didn't get primed and one on the wing on the left.  Apperantly I didn't get my masking tape to cover it.  Turns out I had a very faint red line left.  I then primed just that line but left the different hue of yellow.

As I stated before this color is very sensitive to having a perfect prime as a base coat.

This photo shows the messed up wing.

Just going to say that some nugget bang up this trainer and the wing was damaged.Stick out tongue

Thank you Secret Santa for the challanging build.  Also thank you to our hosts for this fun GB.

Thank you for looking.

Moose,

If you hadn't pointed it out I'd thought it was just shadows. Great looking bird Yes

Moose, fantastic work. This bird reminds me of crop dusters when I was a kid, even though its not a duster. Still, that is some impressive work. I am in awe!! Bow Down

Making more progress with the M8 Scott.  The AFV tracks I purchase would not fit around the drive sprockets so I ended using the tracks that came with the kit.  Also had a heck of a time with putting the upper and lower hulls together.  The rear end did not want to align up.  Ended up making some cuts and puttying the gaps.  Made some paint touch ups, but I think I am going to have use weathering to mask or blend the touch ups with existing paint job.

Ready to start the weathering, starting with chipping.  This is going to be my first time at weathing a tank.  Hope all those You-Tube videos payoff.

Looking good Marcus.

One suggestion, if you don't mind.  I would spray you great build with a flat or dull coat.  The pictures that I am seeing she is shining real good.

Please it is only constructive critism. I enjoyed watching your build and it is looking good.

That's because I am getting ready to add the chipping and weathering.  Once I finsih all that, the last coat will be flat finish.

I haven't been on the forums as much as I would like for the last several weeks dealing with a real life truck project. Now that it is done and out of the garage, I can have my paint booth back and return to my kits full throttle.

I feel you. Ended up having my dad live with us for the first month and a half of the year, and only place to put him besides the couch was upstairs in my building area. There has been some "easy chair building" going on, but nothing serious has really been able to be done.

Well, I managed to get all the decals done and sealed as well as the panel line wash done and sealed as well. I have some touch ups to do and then I'll post up some pice before final detail painting and assembly. More to come on the F-84G.

Well gents, I'm calling the F84-G done. I would have been done some time ago but my hands have been quite shaky lately and doing all the little fiddly bits proved to be quite a challenge as I wrapped this one up. Hopefully, this will go away as it annoys me greatly.
Anyway, enjoy the pics.

Will I am going to call this M8 Scott done.  This being my second armor kit, but there were many firsts for me as to weathering, scatch builts, after market items and replacement tracks that just would not fit ( I am hoping they will fit a M5 AFV kit I have).  Not to mention the issues trying to fit the upper hull to the lower hull, but I over it.

Seeing how I only had a dust wash and sand pigment I made the Scott look like it drove miles through sand.  Enjoy the pictures.
