Aw man, oh well how about the recent re-pop of the 1/48 f-102 ? I believe it was a monogram mould right ? If so I will go with that one.

That one qualifies.

cb, apparently Revell did a 1/48 F-102 in the late 50’s. Way before the Monogram kit they sell now.

She's starting to look like a tomcat

Very nice, and once again proving Morrison's Third Law of Modeling:

No matter how large the bench, the active modeling space will always be exactly two square feet.

Are those laws related to Asimov’s Laws of Robotics?

All roads lead to Trantor.

BTW I hear the new "Blade Runner" is a good movie.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

Yes, I’m looking forward to seeing the new Blade Runner. Of course I have to watch the original again before I do...

I suppose I will go on a binge and start this one while the tomcat is drying.

Here is the progress I have made on the Tomcat the last week or two. Started joining the fuselage halves this morning.

Hey everyone...my apologies for the lack of posts and pics.  Between getting put in the hospital, hurricanes, trying to find a new place to put pics, and life in general...I've been neglecting the posting on FSM.

I have finally been able to get back into building and I have taken some pics and am now using Postimage for my pics.

So....I have just about completed the T-28's!!!  I had a few set backs on each kit, but the builds turned out pretty good.  I did not notice until half way through the build of one of them that they did not have all the landing gear and tires!  So, that one is gear up.  Also, the decals for that kit just cracked and disolved when I went to use them.  So, I apologize in advance to my Canadian builders/friends....it was the only decals I had in my spares that looked good on the plane.  I'm sure they are no where near accurate, but they do look nice.  I went off from the norm on colors.  Went with a Navy Grey and traning yellow.

Here's what I have so far.  They need just a little bit more work and they should be done today!

Well, before I go and over do the weathering, I'm going to call them finished.  Not the best I've done, but considering the past few months for me.  Embarrassed

I did have a great time building them!  Now off to start the Mig-15 I promised the Dom I do.

CB, your Tomcat is off to a great start! Nice work on the cockpit. Which squadron markings do you have in mind for this build?

Eagle, those Trojans look fine, gear up or down. That is an an oldie but goody kit of that important aircraft. Can I ask you to get some finished build shots of them over a plain background?

I’m looking forward to your Mig-15. Yes

Yes Sir.  I have some poster board around here somewhere.  I'll get those to you ASAP.

Oldie but goodie is right.  That is one of the great Mono kits to put together.  I got one way back in the day at TG&Y for like $4!!!  Really had fun with them.

Thank you sir!

Yeah, was down for a time, but I got back up and am ready to roll!

These Mono kits are just too fun to build.  Nostalgic I guess, just remember as a kid learning how to build these kits with some strong orange smelling glu, mom's emery boards and those little bottles of Testors paint....ah, the good ole days.  LOL!

Eagle, those photos are perfect! I’ll select a couple to put on the Familia wall in the next day or so.

TG&Y and models... now there are some old memories. I don’t have any memories of Monogram kits at the one by me... but a strong memory of several of the AMT Star Trek kits at that store. And Hawk models at the Sav On drug store in the same center...

Eagle, those Trogans are fantastic looking.

B1, Outstanding job on the Cat. The weathering looks top notch!

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Thanks MC, That entire build felt like it dragged the whole time. Hopefully the next one goes better.

Stick,  not sure yet but I always liked the hi vis VF-143 scheme. I also have a set of VF-1 markings for a overall gloss grey bird that I have been wanting to use.. would not be surprised if it ends up being neither of those however -- my mind is always changing.

Thank you sir.  The Mig-15 is coming along nicely.  Will post pics today.

The AMT stuff was at either Zayre or KMart down here.  TG&Y....I can still remember which isle they were in.  Just a small selection of kits, but they were enough for a young pup like me at the time.  I'd sit on the floor looking at each kit, trying to figure out which one I was going to spend my hard earned money on.  Lots of yards mowed and Coke bottles taken to Winn Dixie for the money to get them.  If only it were still that simple huh?

Thank you!  I kinda lean towards that one being my fav too.  The yellow is nice, but....gloss paint...I shiver at the thought.  LOL!

Here are some pics from the Mig-15 kit.  She is going together fairly well and it is going quickly.  The canopy slides and it is a bit odd and cluncky, so I'm not sure it will stay that way or if I'll just glue it shut/open.  I did break down and order a Montex canopy mask set.  I know, it's for a Trumpy Mig, but I'm hoping it will work for the Mono kit.  Of course, after I ordered it, I remembered something about Mono's Mig-15 kit is more like 1/40 scale...so I may have spent the money for not.  I'm going to drop some Future Floor stuff on the dials and work on the dials to spruce up the office area, but in the long run, not sure how much you'll be able to see.

Thanks all for the compliment's. So since wrapping up the first build, it renewed.my build motivation. So I sat down last night at the bench with the 102 and went on a build binge. This is where I am at with my second entry.

B1 --- Your Tomcat looks great. I had to check the front page because I didn't realize they made one in 1/32, now I need to get one. Eagle --- Great start on your Mig, I always use Future on the dials. It helps detail pop in those cramped cockpits if you're going to leave the canopy open.
