Jacknewbill - kingfisher is coming along nicely!  One of my favorite float planes.  Ever see how they recover those?

Keyda lots of progress.  Decals next I suppose?

Thanks,

John

Keyda looking good and lots of progress.  Did you freehand the camo? Decals next I suppose?

Thanks,

I did free hand the camo.  I love my Iwata air brush.  I wouldn't of been able to do that with  my old airbrush.  I prefer to do it that way, no masking involved.  Masking over paint, and then pulling it always makes me nervous.  No pulled paint this way.  Yea, probably decals next.

Ooooo, I like what I see in the background of the first picture.

Excelent AB work Keyda.

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Lol, just a glimpse of the stash, lol.  Thanks!  It's mostly the work of the airbrush.

Man, what great builds!!!  I saw the Kingfisher and now regret trading mine..live and learn.  LOL!

Here are some more updates.  This kit is ROUGH!  Now don't me wrong...I love my Revell/Monogram kits...but this one is a whopper!  I have two more of these (different variants) in my stash and I'm wondering if they should go into the trade box!  LOTS of filling and some of the parts just don't fit well.  You can see in the pics how much filling is needed.  I'm not done filling either!  I think she'll turn out to be a nice kit, but boy is she trying my patience now.  LOL!  Enjoy.

That camo job looks really good!  The lines between colors sure have a nice soft look, no sharp transitions. Did you freehand it?

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

LOL!  Embarrassingly enough, that's not camo..it's areas I used primer on to see how much more filling I needed to do.  The actual paint scheme wll be the grey on top and white on the bottom.  But maybe I should go with a camo...might hide the blemishes.  Embarrassed

Paint looks really good Keyda! What kinds of paints are you using on it? Eagle it looks like you're doing a pretty good job with that old kit. I'm sure you'll get it wrestled together, that's half the fun of those Monogram kits

Model Master enamels.  I prefer them over acrylic, cause me and acrylic just don't get along, lol.

Well had a change in plans today, so I spent the day up at the bench instead of working on my car.

Painted under the tail.  I used a few different MM Metalizer paints.  Looks a lot better than my usual one color coat.

Decals done, and they fought me all the way!  Had to pull a few from the spares bin.  Thankfully I keep all unused decals.

This masking was a pain in the rear.  Normally I would paint it with a brush, but I tried to refrain from that as much as possible with this build.

Without further delay, the Voodoo is finished!  I didn't do a lot of weathering on this one, I liked it clean.  So it just has a few streaks here and there.

Keyda, really nice work there, scheme has come out really well. She looks great now she is done. I really like the effect you have on the bare metal under the tail, i have just finished that area on a Phantom build. Yours has come out really well.

Thanks Bish!  Glad I decided to play around and see what I could come up with.  I have a few Phantoms to do eventually, I'll have to do the same thing with those!

Thanks Eagle90!

Great finish Keyda! I'm with you, I can't make acrylics spray for anything. Your paint job looks great and especially the NMF area behind the engines. Do you have a preference for the front page?

Castel how about a water base? A little bit more work but with a few waves strategically placed you could make the lean look like it was due to the motion of the waves Stick out tongue

Man, the builds here are making mine look like a boneyard bird.  LOL!

This has to be one of the toughest kits I have put together in some time.  The fit is just...crazy.  So much filling with this one.  Maybe it's just because of the F-4's design itself, but I don't remember having this much trouble with the Mono 1/48 F-4.  I have two more kits like this one (a Navy and AF version), same instructions and parts....anyone want one?!  Whistling

Anyway, here is an update pic.  I'm putting on the top grey paint today and hope to start the decals tonight.  Enjoy.

Thank you but it is wearing me out!  LOL!

You want to do a 1/32 kit?  LOL!  I'm not going to be doing anouther one of these for some time.  If I do, I'll do my 1/48 Mono kit.  LOL!  Embarrassed

Looking pretty good Bobby, even with all the problems you're having. I can imagine what it's like. I have some older 1/32 kits from the 70s and 80s in the stash and I keep looking at them thinking "not yet, maybe after I get some more experience..."

Thank you sir!

Experience?!  Nahhhh, you'll just need lots of filler!  LOL!  And patience!.  Of which I have very little left.  LOL!  That and Micro Sol...I must have used almost a quarter if my bottle on the bloody decals!  Stick out tongue

Eagle90, that is one really nice looking F-4. I like that scheme quite a bit and will have to consider that when I do another one. Since this is my fave jet AC I will be doing more. You did really good work, no matter how humble you try to sound. Well done.
