Hi CMK, I'm in with a TBD. Maybe it will be an Me163, but I don't know if I can hold it back that long :) Cheers Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.

Since I have participated since 41, I want to join in 45.  I do not know what I would do yet, but probably a warship.

I am in with Cyberhobby's 1/35 JS-1/JS-2!  I will be on the hunt for some AM decals for a Battle of Berlin subject.

I got it!

A Revell 1/72 Ki-45 Nick in American markings and an AMT 1/48 Hs-129. My wife fliped when she saw that kit on a vender table and wanted me to get it. How could I refuse Big Smile

Steve

Building a kit from your stash is like cutting a head off a Hydra, two more take it's place.

Checkmate, I'm in.  Put me down for an AFV Club M-36 Jackson, 1/35 scale, for now.  That may change later once I look through the stash, but tentatively that's what I'll be building.

Good to have you join in, tj.  I've added you to the roster.

And--you have all year to finish up '43 and '44, too.  I'm way behind on the '44 USS Iowa myself.

Thanks for your participation.

I'm going to be building an Easy Eight Sherman pretty soon. That should fit nicely into this build.

All good choice, Bish and Steve.  Anything you all build will be outstanding, if the past is any indication of the future.

Thanks for enlisting!

O, i think i might be able to sign up to this Big Smile.

Who am i kidding, been waiting for this thread. I'll start off with 3 entries, all 1/72nd. First i'll be doing the Revell S-100 S-Boat, my first 1/72nd scale floaty thing. Then i will do 2 aircraft together. Fine Molds Bf 109G-10 and an R.V. Aircraft Fw 190D-11.

If i can, i hope to squeeze in some armour, but will hold off on that. Got a busy year ahead.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Looking at my stash I have a few to choose from.

V1, F4U, Me 410, Lockheed PV1, Hs 129, Ki-84.

I'm leaning toward the F4U.

Steve

75th Anniversary of 1945 Group Build (World at War)
Posted by checkmateking02 on Sunday, December 1, 2019 12:30 PM

The last year of the war has finally arrived!  The new year 2020 brings us to the 75th anniversary of 1945, and the conclusion of this series of GB's.

As with the other GB's, the purpose is to bring to mind the struggles and sacrifices made by all the combatants of WWII, so that we maintain our sense of awe, wonder and gratitude at these monumental events.

Rules of engagement remain the same as for the previous GB's:  build a model of anything in existence during 1945, military or civilian.  Whatever the subject matter, it should be in appearance the way it looked in '45, even if it saw use in previous years.

The last year of the war saw some pretty intense fighting still going on in Europe as the Allies closed in on Germany, and of course some fierce fighting in the Pacific Theater as well.

The GB will begin at midnight, 1 January, 2020 (your local time), and will end on 31 December, 2020.

Please remember, that all the previous "World at War" GB's will also remain open till then, so you can still complete a build for each year of the War, if you so choose.

Thanks for everyone who has participated so far, and for all of you joining in the 1945 GB.

Here is 1945's GB badge.
