Thanks Piers. It looks to be a very nice kit. I was thinking of putting in in a seascape taking off on the step.

Excellent Dodgy!

I think that was the first model I airbrushed a long, long time ago. I don't remember how good the detail was - I still have the propeller.

Looking forward to it!

G'day Lost. I'm going to have a crack at the old Otaki Spit MkVIII in 1/48. I know its old and probably laden with issues, but it's in the stash.

Dodgy, grouse to have you on board!

So check the stash and we'll see you in the GB!

Ok Lost. I'll be a mug and have a go at this, but will have to check the stash. I'm not a real prolific builder and have other building commitments, but by crikey it's an Aussie theme and I can't let it go by.

Been wanting to see how they go together.

Well, hopefully I'll be able to do it justice. Have splurged on the Brassin for it today as well; I figured I might as well go all in...

Well, I'm single. I like Piers idea, I've got about a dozen Spits and may have to build a second Aussie Spit sometime in the future.

Darren: I've been getting wierd error messages over the last couple weeks too.

Personally, I'd let the wife decide. My wife decides most of my decal nose art, just to keep the peace.

Thanks to Bish, the Sunderland Mk.III on the way. I still want to do the F/A-18A but might do that later or maybe with US decals and a diffrent GB, who knows

If a 464 squadron Mosquito FB VI is acceptable, then I'm in (I need an excuse to build the Tamiya 1/32 Mossie).

Apologies for the "reply-not-post", I appear to be having some issues with my account.

Both sets of my decals are here. Still not sure which ones I'm going to use. Guess I have until March 1st to decide on one...

Actually it looks like Sp Hobby makes 2, count them two RAAF squardons, Number 10 Sq and Number 461 Sq Big Smile

Well Hanants is out of stock now so I'll go through HLJ, which is out as well but it says they can get it in 3 to 5 days Confused That waht is said about the Kongo before it went on backorder.

Ooops, my bad, I was looking at the Mk.V. I'll still go through HLJ since I alresdy have something in my pers wharehouse and I can combine the shipping.

Thanks Bish, I'll take a look. I was refering to the Italeri with RAAF markings. I'll look at the Special Hobby and also look for Ausi markings for it.

Steve, what Sunderland kit are you thinking of. If its the Special Hobby 72nd Mk III, Hannants has 5 in stock.

Thanks Piers,

Like I said, it was started but I'm going to have to completly disassenble it and start over. I'll take a pic of it when I get home. The Aries set I'm going to get is as expensive a the kit is.

I would still like to have done the Sunderland but I need to thin the stash before I add more, Besides, it seem to be on eternal backorder like most kits are these days.

Patrick, love the sound of the Buffalo - such a tubby aircraft that was never going anywhere but down against a Zero.

Steve, the FA 18 A is a great pick - I have a Roodecal set I bought decades ago - one of these days I will buy the model!

Piers,

Actually I came across and old 1/48 Hasegawa F/A 18A. I've had this thing since it came out in 91. what's that? 30 years now? I had started it, Just the cockpit and the two fuse half's and stoped before I sanded the seams. Looking at it I did't do too bad back then. Way before resin AM, but will disassemble it to add a resin cockpit and wheel wells as well as some PE. The decals are bad but I found an RAAF 2002 special theme set from Hawkeye models.
