Hadn't posted on my progress lately, thought I would give an update. I'm at a standstill at the moment because the paint I thought I had I didn't and I've already used my allocated time and money until July 16. I've been working on the small bits and they'll be ready to go on when I do get through with the painting.

Noticed this one a little late, but noticed the cut off is July 15th.

Would love to join if not too late. I have an old Monogram OA-4M in the pile that keeps looking at me. From behind the other kits.

This just may be the thing that gets me to pull it out and get something done with it. Plan to just go OOB with it, but hey plans do change...

Thanks

I have come to realize that this was not the best build for me to participate in. After so long outta the "game" and to come back and try a monogram b-17 was not my best choice. I have given my model to a reall good real life friend here near me to finish. My technique was horrible on her...the windows popping from the plane when I was trying to scrape the liquid mask off it. My top turrent came apart inside the fort and rattles around.
I thank everyone for this build but I will back out now at this late date because I am becoming increasingly aggitated with it and that is not good to coming back to the hobby. I have 2 other builds on my bench right now that are getting my full attention and I feel more confident with them.
I really wanted a badge Wink [;)], but I would not feel good getting one with that Censored [censored]up build. Now ya know why I havent posted here in soooo long. Think I will finish my other builds and get alot of others in for myself before I try something like this again. Thanks for letting me in and making me feel welcome with you all in this build, that's why I decided to not make up excuses with ya all. I just can't put another second into something that was really starting to bother me, that is not why I do this. Decided to give it to a master I know and let her find a life there.

oooo hey Jan 1rst...that gives me time to get going again. My other builds have really given me my confidence back and i feel alot better after I gave that fort to my friend...(the testors clear parts glue stopped working and the windows all fel in the fuselage, prolly didnt apply enough). I been eyeballing a stang in 48th scale.
If I fieel up to it would ya let me switch to that one?

Update 7/5
First, thanks Fightnjoe and Roadkill for the kudos, I appreciate the kind words. Due to things picking up at where I work, and my 1/1 scale vehicle taking a dump, I haven't had much time to work on my Snake (damn cars!). I did manage to add the external chaff/flare dispensers that is fitted to some IDF/AF Cobras. The dispensers came from a Pro-Modeler F4-E kit. I added some brass screen to represent the "egg crates". The mounting plates are sheet styrene, fine wire was used for the mounting brackets.

Hey Vintage, Please go ahead and mark me down for a 1/48 glass nose B-25J. Albymoore, I think you could possibly give Swanny or Pixilater a run for their money. I am extremely humbled by viewing your snake.

Vintage.

Just checked the listings and I'm still down for the EA-6B that my 4 year old flight testeda while back. I'm working on the 1/48th P-51D that Monogram did with the "Big Beautiful Doll" markings. Thanks!

Thanks Blush [:I] Cool [8D], you're too kind. Swanny could out-model me any day of the week, his work is incredible. I'm not familiar with Pixilator's work, I'll have to check it out.

I hope to have the Snake ready for paint this weekend. I just need to add some assorted cockpit doo-dads and the canopy, then whip up a home-brew mix of IDF Helicopter Brown (3 drops of Humbol Hu110 to 1 drop of Hu119).

Cheers,

ewc2003 I am sorry about that, I have been really far behind on updateing the two group builds, and lately I have been swamped with things going on, and complications with my models, and since I got back from vacation it has been a mess so sorry about that I will fix it right after this post.

roadkill_275 Ok Ill put you down for a 1/48 B-25J, standard production.

albymoore Wow looks great, I am extreamly impressed, I think you could outbuild alot of people here, grrrrrrreat job.

Oh and as a note to everyone I am pulling out all of my unfinished builds except for the B-24D The Lady Be Good, and will not be resuming those builds until after September 11th. The reason I have a competition September 11th that I need to get The Lady Be Good done for and I am behind schedule, so I will only work on that untill the competition. Just thought I would let you all know that, and wish me luck on this thing cuz Im gonna need it.

I'll be getting my kit this friday. I have a question though. They still have my stang but I found a proModeller BF110 Nightfighter. is the ProModeller line acceptable in this build. It has some good reviews and I always wanted to build a 110. I got all my equipment now...well as much as I need to get going Wink [;)], never have tooooo much equipment right Tongue [:P]. So let me know before friday so when I get to shopping on friday I can get my models.

UPDATE: The P-47 is awaiting paint at the moment, I have had a really tough time with the seam down the back and on the nose. I may have to accept it as it is. It looks rough though. I'm taking my time with the B-25, at the moment I'm detail painting the interior.

Just wondering if I could enter a second aircraft in this build, since my F-101 is coming along faster than I tought it would. If it's not too late, I'd like to add a 1/48 Typhoon. Hopefully that should keep me busy for a little longer :) Now I just have to find that camera...

Here's an update: I've started the the Ju87 by re-scribing the panel lines. I have the horizontal stabilizer and the lower wing re-scribed. I hope to finish the upper wings and fuselage by Sunday.

woodbeck3- The Promodeler line is acceptable since it is a direct Monogram company, and a strictly Monogram kit. It would be fine for you to enter that instead of the stang, infact do the BF-110 instead of the stang, too many of them in the world if you ask me.Big Smile [:D]

roadkill_275- Hey that is what we as modelers come up against with the Monogram kits, and the only thing we can do is ride it out. Hope your Thunderbolt come out great though. Best of luck.

dash8man- Shure you can enter in the build, a B-29 would be great to have, also I was wondering if you would interested in entering the Bomber Group Build in addition to this one, I dont think anyone is doing a B-29 and it would be a welcome addition to the build. I shuold hev you on this list by tommarrow morning when I update the members list on my to GB's.

NatOMac- I would encorage you to do so, since there is such a long period of time from start to finish in this build, one model just aint gonna cut it. Hey are you going to update it, I got a great update set for my Typhoon, it is all photoetched material, and it was only ten bucks at Als Hobby Shop. Its got a tone of things to add, but some of the conversions to get them to work with the kit are very hard to do because of Monogram oversimplifcation of there models.

sanderson_91- Sound like your taking this thing head on. Cant wait to see it when its done, never seen a compleated one before should be interesting.

Great, definately put me down for the Typhoon. I'll be updating this one quite a bit, already have a PE set for it, and I'm going to run out and some resin goodies tomorrow, too. While your updating the list, you may as well add a ProModeller 1/48 Dog Sabre for me, too. I figure after all this work, I'm going to need something that goes together a bit easier. Dead [xx(]

Hiya folks, would like to join in if I may.

I've got two prospectives, a B-25J (Revell boxing of the glass-nose kit) and the 'ole Me 262. As for building SOB or adding a buncha fixins, I never make my intentions known in the beginning because I never know what I intend to do... until I do it... Tongue [:P]

I'd also like to enter the the B-25 in the Medium and Heavy Bombers build, if it's deemed acceptable...

I might as well add my B-29, if I can. I'll be assembling the main airframe this week, and priming it for an Alcad finish. Here is what I've done so far:
http://www.ipmsusa.org/Reviews/Kits/Aircraft/Monogram_48_B-29/Monogram_48_B-29.htm
I'll probably be done in a week or two.

Hey Vintage:

Would love to join if not too late. I have an old Monogram OA-4M and Av-8B in the pile that keeps looking at me. From behind the other kits.

This just may be the thing that gets me to pull it out and get something done with it. Plan to just go OOB with it, but hey plans do change...

So if it isn't too late. Put me down for one Scooter and one AV-8B Harrier. I know this is the third time I asked, but noticed that I wasn't on the updated list I didn't know if I wasn't accepted because of the time cutoff or if the messages just slipped through the cracks.

Thanks

Not a problem Vintage. I just didn't want to start posting progress reports and you wonder where this nutball that hasn't signed up came from.

Seeing this is my first GB. I didn't know if I had to be on the list or just post I was interested and then just dig into the kit.

Anyway those lonely little Monogram kits thank you as well as I do. Now I gotta dig out the kits and putty as well.

Thanks again

Update on the Cobra, 7-13

The canopy has been attached add the HSS rails added. The canopy needed some shimming here and there to improve the fit. The rails are made of floral wire, the mounts are styrene bits. Should be ready for paint this weekend.

Update on the Jug. Finally got the colour coat shot last night and it still looks good today. Except for that blasted seam and my feeble attempt at rescribing the lost detail on the panels. The B-25 is also starting to take shape.

Greetings-
I would like to join in-first time group build. Recently (last winter) started building again after a 40 yr break. Most recent projects were all Monogram-P-51, P47 & P-38 with an Austin gasser for the auto fix-all straight from the box.
I plan on starting on a Spitfire Mk II at the end of summer, but the cut-off for getting in is today, so I hope I'm not too late.
Thanks

Bob

Has this GB ground to a halt? There have been no posts here since Thursday!! I know Vintage Aircraft is busy with his project, but how about everyone else? Sticking my neck out a bit here, BUT evryone up to this point who wanted to join should just go ahead and join. I don't have a problem with it and I don't foresee any else having one either.

My P-47 is continuing to progress. I have the paint on it and I am adding the last bits to it. I should have pics up by the end of the week. The B-25 has stalled for the moment as I am having to strip al the paint off of the interior and do a repaint. For some reason the paint I used blistered and started peeling.
