I have seen the entire first season of Atlantis and it just gets much better....Wait for the arrival of the Daedalus battlecruiser from Earth in season 2. This is a seriously nasty upgrade of the Prometheus, with F-302 fighters and integrated Asgard technology, not bolt ons like the Prometheus has.

cheers

Mike

Darren the "Darkside" eh, i had a little foray into armour last year and built Academy's Panzer IV Flakpanzer, it was a pretty cool build cause there was very little masking to be done...........Thankfully painting all the rubbers on the road wheels (32 wheels) brought me back to realityThumbs Up [tup] but i still have afew more armour kits in the stash............

[b]Miike[/b[ Your Boomers looking greatThumbs Up [tup] Looking forward to seeing the finished buildThumbs Up [tup]

But what happended to Battlestar Galatica. It was getting quite interesting & suddenly disappeared (which isn't unusual w. these pills who do television programming round here).

You'd better believe it Jules I've gone AFV mad at the moment, as soon as I finish the Aussie GB I might have to get a tank going as a part time build so that I can get it out of my system (maybe) turn back to the good side of the force.
Oh and how about a pic or two of your Panzer IV Flakpanzer????

Mike Stargate and Atlantis are a couple of shows that I just never got into big time. The guys at work (and my brother for that matter) live and breathe both of them, but for me I just never got hooked.

Cheers

I find the new Doctor Who good. My sister even managed to have a laugh and she doesn't like shows like it.

I have a bundle of AFV models sitting in a footlocker in the garage that have been there for over 10 years now gathering dust. I've been thinking of dusting a Tiger or two off and seeing what I can produce.

The "Darkside Models" That i have are the..........
Academy Tiger 1 with interior
Tamiya Panther
Tamiya Matilda II
Tamiya Sdkfz 251/1
Academy Stuart honey...........
But i am starting to think about those new 1/48 Tamiya kits but mainlybecause they can be added to A/C dio's............
BTW Darren i'll post up a pic of the Flakpanzer as soon as i add the tools to the chassisThumbs Up [tup] one thing i'll admit is i enjoyed the build, the paint scheme was done in the Fall camo scheme and all done freehand, the only thing i had to mask was the interior of the turret...........

Quick question for you fine fellows.....When's the next Aussie GB (or ANZAC GB) gonna start? I have a Grumman S-2F tracker that I'm gonna convert to an S-2G and do in RAN markings. Took 240 photos of one at the museum near my house the other day, should keep me covered for reference. This old Hobbycraft kit will take alot of work to look good. There's not enough time left in this one, so I'll wait til the next build.

Daniel I'm not sure about the Aussie Gb but the Anzac one will be starting on Anzac day 2006 and will run for about 6 months.........
Hmmm maybe we could combine the Aus and Anzac GB's together..........

Hmmm, combining both GB's could work.
6 months is a large enough window, and doing 2 kits at once on a commonish type of theme might make it a bit easier.

Tonight I finished the rotor ass'y on the Bell, so now it's time to bang on the runners, and make yet ANOTHER attempt to scratch the fuel tanks up.

Bloody weather here has made the epoxy thing a nightmare.
Hot, cold,hot,cold.....................epoxy cracked up like there was no tomorrow.

Might get some auto bog and try that.
As soon as they are done, it's only the decals left, and then picture time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's to cold here in Victoria to do any airbrushing by the time I get home so I have to wait for weekends. I at least managed to start repainting my Fairey Battle trainer. It has a coat of primer and an undercoat of white in preparation for the yellow and black paintjob. The Mosquito I may have to airbrush in preparation for receiving the Paragon PR Mossie canopy from england.

Aussie/ANZAC build would be the same wouldn't it?

I'm in for the Anzac build... for this one unfortunately I will be a no show on... I don't have the time to get the kit together before the deadline, not even to an appreciable state where I could take pics of it. I let myself get too involved again and have too many kits waiting to be finished. Unless Saint Michael comes down to me tonight in my sleep and grants me a miracle I'll be bowing out.. I've surely enjoyed the conversation and will be up and ready for the Anzac build!!!

Jules - I'm just glad Kremps could make it!!! it wouldn't have been the same without her! I don't feel bad for not finishing but all the same I would have liked to. Since kicking back to one model I have got 4 straight hours in at the table today and it feels good! Almost ready to close the fuselage on "Tweety II" Wink [;)]

Well, I ditched the epoxy, and have made my fuel tanks from KahFill, auto body filler.

Heck of alot easier, seeing as this stuff sets in 20 minutes, as soon as it starts curing I trimmed it to the rough dimensions I need, then tonight I hope to do some sandind and shaping, then give it a once over with Tamiya putty to smooth things out, then off to the spray booth.

Thats the plan anywaysBig Smile [:D]

Sean, I had a surpise for you but I've stuffed it up. I went to the AWM yesterday w. my cousin to see that film of my grandffather in his Camel & next to the research centre they've got a Bell 47 (post-1945 section). So with you in mind I took a stack of shots (access to the instrument panel side isn't too good). Unfortunately I left my data cable for the camera at my cousin's house so I can't get the images onto the computer. You'll be all finished before I get them too you but nevertheless they're on their way.

Excellent pics CarlThumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Yet ANOTHER version of the G!!!!

I've done ALOT of research on this thing, and so far I have seen 14 different variants of the same G model.
In this case, the antenna array located half way down the tail boom isn't something I've seen on any of the other pics I have.
Same with the air intake vent under the rotor ass'y, this is different again on my other pics.
The fuel tanks are different again, these ones are more slender in profile compared to the ones I'm making, which are more bulbous at the top, and narrow down the bottom.

There are a few other differences, minor mostly, but enough to make a whole new modelBig Smile [:D]

Thanks for the pics Carl, they will come in handy later, that is for sure!

To avoid the bump ill post up some progress...........

Progress Report::::::::::::::::: all the main constuction on the Spit VIII is done and over the next couple of days i'll fix up the seams, hopefully i'll be able to prime/preshade and get the undersurface blue on by the end of the week, after that it's time for masking...

I join you there Jules.

:::Progress Report:::
The Buffalo is coming along OK at the moment, she's in the paint shot and tonight I finished the Light Grey/Black under side combo so I'll now give that a good 24 hours to cure before I mask it off and start on the upper surfaces.

Cheers
