                        not much to report on my f-18f for the gb. i did manage to get the bottom of the f-18 painted i hope to get a lot more done the next few days if i am up to it been sick as a dog the last few since i am under house arrest by the dr. i have plenty of free time.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

                        Johnforster's right. Photobucket makes it so easy to post pics. However, you are limited to about 250 pics total, unless you opt for their pay plan. As a free subscriber, you get 250 pics. I know. I have 248 on my Photobucket account.

                        Got some more painting and decaling done on my Skyraider. I should have pics up later today.

                        Just ordered an hasegawa f-18f, and the italeri su-34 flanker( the one with the tandem cockpit) and a f-16 c/d night falcon. Hopefully these dont take too long to get here, I have never ordered from djhobby.com before. This is the drawback of being stationed overseas. I am also waiting on my badger 150 professional kit to get here - still-. Guess that i'll have to work some on my su-47 berkut for the stealth gb for now.

                        Well, my F/A-18A is almost ready for the spray booth now! I just have to close up an annoying little gap, (re)affix the main canopy, sand down the glue seams and mask it up. I'm currently also looking at ref pics for the attachments to the drop tanks.
                        Painting will hopefully commense next week, when I'm on holidays.

                        I have at last been able to make a start on the Mustang Mk 1. I am building the Special Hobby version which seems to be a pretty good kit. I have started to paint the interior and sand down the interior parts for the cockpit. I will post pics as soon as the cockpit is assembled.

                        Its been a rainy day here so I did a lot of work this morning, I fixed the cockpit into the fuselage and closed it all up I also attached the wings, all I need to do now is sand the glue seems and she'll be ready for painting!

                        folks, here r the latest pix of my project, a Fokker Dvii:


                        the fuselage has been painted & futured, alle ist klaar...
                        lozenge decals applied 2 upper surfaces of both wings, nicht so gut...Dead [xx(]


                        here u can see the markings added, & the lozenge decals on the
                        lower surface of the upper wing & lifting surface... started adding rib tapes
                        2 the lower wing, but they r super brittle & fall apart when i try 2 put 'em on...
                        i need 2 order some aftermarket lozenge & rib tape decals, i think.

                        hope u like it so far !

                        Everybody is so much further than me....I finally took a look at my JU87....it should go along pretty well....I am doing a JU87G-1, probably one of Hans Rudel's birds....I do have a question though....does anyone have a set of A-10 Thunderbolt II instructions for a Monogram 1/72 kit lying around...mine seem to have gone walkabout. I was thinking of doing an A-10 "Snowhog" as well, but the missing instructions seem to have put a damper on that idea for now.

                        I've started to construct the wings and fuselage of my tyhpoon but there is a fair bit of sanding to do before I can start to do anything else , I'm also having a few problems with the cockpit fitting into the fuselage , I did dry fit as I built it but now that I try to fit it in it seems to not fit properly, so I'll have to do some sanding of the inner fuselage to make it fit better.
                        I should post some pics but I don't have my camera at the moment so I'll post some later on probably when I start painting!

                        It is similar, but the object (rattlecan) you are holding is larger, and there is less control over the spray than with a double action airbrush. One tip you can use to get a finer mist of the paint is to heat up some water to near boiling. Shake the rattlecan well and let it sit for three to five minutes until it is good and warm, then shake it some more before you spray it on the model.Keep shaking now and then between applications to keep the paint mixed. I usually wrap my can in a paper towel because it gets pretty hot. The heat makes everything expand inside and helps to create a finer more even mist that goes on smooth and easy. Just be careful about heating the water too much. I did once and when I shook the can, the bottom popped out. Intead of being concave it became convex, so the can wouldn't sit straight!

                        I also just put in a light coat first, then when that is dry, I re-heat the can and apply a second coat. That helps to get a nice even and solid color over the model.

                        stuka_69, John, thanks guys! Yeah, this is a pretty basic kit and it goes together pretty fast. Thanks for the comments guys! John, it's great to hear of your progress as well.

                        Speaking of Progress, my Skyraider is ready for Future in preparation for decals:



                        I just had to show this other pic as well. My camera didn't focus where I wanted it to, but you can still see the detail of the engine facing. I thought it turned out pretty good:



                        I may take another more clear shot of that engine during my next round of photos.

                        My pilot is mounted in his little office and the canopy is on! Now to the airbrushing. I'll be using Tamiya acryllics for the main colours. Pics will come after that's done.

                        Your pumping through your model ! , I haven't really started except that I've painted and built a new cockpit and I've painted the side walls of the fuselage , no body work has been done yet but it looks like it will be nice as its an excellent kit [Academy] the only thing I'm worried about are the decals???

                        Here is another pic after I sanded and re-shot it with silver paint:



                        It actually looks smoother than the picture suggests. I had dust on the lens.

                        Now I can move on and get the propeller assembly mounted on it before I lose it too! Then I can get the Future on it, apply the decals, detail it out and then mount the weaponry. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel! I just hope it ain't a train!
