That is excellent Gamodeller! I can't wait to see the pics!

Well I got some pretty good news. While putting some things away in the hobby room, I found another can of silver spray paint. So, here is what I decided to do:

Before:

After

Looks like I'll have to do more sanding/polishing and re-coat it. Man, this isn't supposed to take this long!

I also got the propeller done too. I'm leaving it on the sprue untill I need it so maybe I can avoid losing it like the P-39's propeller.

Hi John,

That's cool, I too have a Chaos Space Marine in the making. I chose the Iron Warriors and have started building a Dreadnought I got from ForgeWorld. Anyhoo, I have not really made much progress on any kits lately due to work commitments. Hopefully this weekend I'll be able to get my head doewn and start with the A-6. It looks like an amazing kit and I can't wait. If anyone wants to join and has a subject that meets the criteria just jump in and tell us what you are building. Don't want to keep anyone waiting for responses. Keep it going guys n' gals!!

Regards,

Dan

Nice to see such great progress frostygirl! I can't wait to see pics.

Thank you for the comment about the NMF. It takes some doing, but I've figured out that if you thin the paint a bit, and use a very fine-bristled soft brush and a light touch, you can get pretty good results. It takes a bit of practice though to get it right, and I'm still not all that good.

Anyway, onward and upward!

Hey all! I finally managed to get some time to take a pic of my progress.

I'm building the French A-1 Skyraider, which comes in natural metal finish! I knew there was a reason I was holding off on building this! Oh well, I got it started, and this is the result:

As you can see, I have the whole fuselage and wing assemblies done, and mounted the landing gear. She's sporting a brushed on coat of Polly S Flat Aluminum right now. I'll be touching up the basecoat later with a thicker coat. I'm brushing this on because the last time I tried to airbrush it, I couldn't get it to work. I'm also out of silver in the rattle can, so I have no other choice right now.

I should be able to get more done tomorrow. I'll post pics when I can.

Ga.Modeler, are you sure you can't salvage that? It looks like a fairly simple repair job, unless the fuzziness of the pics is hiding more damage. Still, I'd think that some work could possibly restore that to some measure of completeness.

Anyway, it is a good thing you've got a backup kit! I'll be getting more pics of my progress posted a bit later.

well ladies and gents i got a couple of pics for you. but i also have a major snauf. while i was out today with my sister getting things for my turkey addiction. it seem that my nieces pug puppy has helped herself to another model of mine. the frist one was a md 530g gunship for the attack helo group build and now she has made a snack on my F-18E for the attack group build. thier is no way i can salavge this model at all. what really hurts with this one i was at the point of putting on the decals tonight and now its back to square one. but thier is a bright side i do have in waiting a F-18 e/f to build for the group
and now the guilty party of this eventEvil [}:)]Evil [}:)]

well, here's my progress so far:
i've opened the box 4 the Roden Fokker D.Vii, looked inside &
read the instructions... looks like i'll b doing a bit of parts cleanup
here & there, but on the whole it looks like a pretty decent kit.
i have been looking thru the "Fokker D.Vii In Action" book 4 an
appropriate paint scheme 4 a mid-production OAW-built D.Vii,
& will probably get a basecoat on at some point over the weekend.
good luck w/ ur builds, folks !

Hi guys, I hate to do this but I am overcommitted to group builds and would like to pull out of this one (need to learn to pace myselfAshamed [*^_^*]). You've got a good group of modern builds going on and I'll definitely be watching from the sidelines.

i am ready for the paint booth for my f-18 e. still waiting on the weapons sets to arrive from models.tis f-18 e has been a pleasure to build with harldy anyfit problems and very little sanding. the only problems i have had is the intakes and the joining of the wings with a little sanding at those points. i should have a few pics in the next few days.Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]
