I am sorry to hear this too. I am surprised that not even one person responded. if you want to bother--I'd be interested in knowing what it was you posted that got no responce.

Sorry I missed your posts,I still couldnt locate them.I usually try to respond to posts with no answers if I can.

I can sympathize if you're disappointed by a lack of response.  But I can't quite agree with considering the membership rude if they haven't replied to your posts.

Really sorry you feel that way but as was mentioned....you've gotta post more than 3 times kiowhatta. Hang around, post some more and see what happens. Lookin' forward to seeing you around.

Any forum is a form of intellectual marketplace. And like any marketplace, it isn't enough simply to show up with something of value; you need to be lucky, or resourceful and persistent enough, to attract the attention of those whom you wish to reach.

Polite reponses are a fine thing...but we all lead busy lives. Sometimes inertia wins out.

As others have said, I would advise you to 'hang in there,' and contribute. It gets better.

I actually saw several of them at the time they were posted. One asked for tips about a very specific product I had never used; the other was an advisory about an aftermarket resin product I had never heard of or contemplated using.

I had no useful response to offer on either count.

(Incidentally, both had at least one reply....)

I too will often refrain from replying to a thread if I have nothing helpful to add.

There is a difference between "no replies" and "no replies that are helpful to the OP"

If you ask if anyone's used a specific product for a specific purpose, if no-one's used it then you're likely to no responses. Otherwise "I haven't used it but good luck anyway" is a complete waste of space and time.

That did used to be a good feature,see who has been missing awhile,perhaps looking up someones old build blog,or advice or tutorials they might have given.Good examples I used to refrence were

Well, sorry to hear that my friend.   Post a work in proces build and I guarantee you you will get plenty of responses!  That being said, I will tell you I have never been to a forum with a more polite bunch of members than this one.

I have started only one thread in my time on the forums. It was in the General Modeling section and was titled Autism and Modeling. I got about 7 replies (a total of 15 but the other 8 replies to my thread were from me) All the replies were very helpful and inspiring.

I know that doesn't help but look at the looks to your posts. The one had over 100 looks. There are a lot of armor modelers, I for one, who might look at a Zimm post but won't reply because we're still on the fence about trying it or are dead set against trying. My Autism post had well over 650 looks but Autism is appearing more often and people see it more than Zimm. I would have liked more replies but I took strength from the fact that my post was getting so many looks and people were being exposed to that post. Sometime in the future there may be someone who will search the forums for something related to Autism and find my post. The replies may help them as it helped me or maybe it won't answer their question but they'll feel empowered to start their own thread. Also i was one of those that was locked out for a time so don't give up too soon.

Stay involved and start becoming a part of the community. Join a group build (they're a blast) or post some of your work in some of the different subject forums. Don't be afraid to comment on someone's post in General Modeling or Ready Room forums. We're all different but we all share a love for this hobby and our fellow builders.

I liked it because I could find my own replies to things where I'd linked something but had since lost the reference. OK, I admit, to plug holes in my own memory.

Once upon a time one could find all of any member's posts by clicking on the post counter below their username. This disappeared some years ago in one of the many "upgrades" (I use that term loosely)

I saw the reply count as i just logged on this morning and already knowing the content of the thread, i thought exactly that.

I to don't recall seeing the original threads. And i am not sure how you can start several threads when you only have 3 posts, of which the opening one here is one.

Though of course, we are all adding to this thread, and chances are the starter will never see them.

Just logged on before my first tea break today; and straight away was drawn to your post. I've been reading this forum for a long time and have always been pleased when I have left after reading a number of comments, at how friendly and helpful the responses are. You couldn't ask for a warmer welcome when joining in with the guys here; it's the reason I started posting not just reading. Some of the answers you received have had me laughing out loud at the start of a day no easy thing. Stick with us you may change your mind and I will also add I couldn't login over Christmas and feel I have missed the boat on some interesting posts.

I looked at that thread. I did not respond. 

Why? I've bought Royal Model figures and found them to be of excellent quality but never any of their resin ammo. I couldn't tell if his comments on the square resin blocks on the shells were the pour stubs you see on all resin products or something else. So I didn't comment. 

Hint to any new members who want responses. POST SOMETHING. It doesn't have to a great model, it doesn't even have to be finished. Many people will comment on liking it, or give constructive advice. Or just comment on someone else's build, aka 'I'm building a Monogram P-51 like yours'. Or ask simple questions like  'How did you do the NM finish?'

I read your thread a few times but didn't comment here either. My advice was the same thing several people had already posted. Just didn't see much point in repeating it or saying 'what he said'... 

This is the most helpful and friendly forum I've found though I do wish they had a "like" or even a "This was helpful" button then if you find a post you get good info from but don't really have anything to add, you can at least let the op know it was helpful to you. That would negate a persons disappointment in not getting actual responses.
