I recall reading the thread too but didn’t comment cause I never heard of the company so what could I have posted being a helpful response to the op? Maybe I should have posted anyway so the op didn’t feel he was being ignored? Either way I hope you stick around this forum, we have a bunch of very talented modelers willingb to help out even sometimes by offering extra decals or parts that someone may be in need of them.

I have a thread on here that has had 584 views and 0 replies. It happens, but, to me, it's not something to get upset over.

What I like about this forum is we have no postwhores, no one posts on a thread to just increase their thread count.

Hi, Ki

I have started only one thread in my time on the forums. It was in the General Modeling section and was titled Autism and Modeling. I got about 7 replies (a total of 15 but the other 8 replies to my thread were from me) All the replies were very helpful and inspiring.

I know that doesn't help but look at the looks to your posts. The one had over 100 looks. There are a lot of armor modelers, I for one, who might look at a Zimm post but won't reply because we're still on the fence about trying it or are dead set against trying. My Autism post had well over 650 looks but Autism is appearing more often and people see it more than Zimm. I would have liked more replies but I took strength from the fact that my post was getting so many looks and people were being exposed to that post. Sometime in the future there may be someone who will search the forums for something related to Autism and find my post. The replies may help them as it helped me or maybe it won't answer their question but they'll feel empowered to start their own thread. Also i was one of those that was locked out for a time so don't give up too soon.

Stay involved and start becoming a part of the community. Join a group build (they're a blast) or post some of your work in some of the different subject forums. Don't be afraid to comment on someone's post in General Modeling or Ready Room forums. We're all different but we all share a love for this hobby and our fellow builders.

I read your thread a few times but didn't comment here either. My advice was the same thing several people had already posted. Just didn't see much point in repeating it or saying 'what he said'...

Gamera,

That's cool. I totally understand. I do that alot myself. Thanks for reading it.

Three posts total, including this one, and this one being, “I’m outta here!”... well posts one and two were: an ambiguous question, and a “warning” about a bum product that he purchased. There were responses to the warning, but its not like all active members here have something to say on that. Several looked, a few replied. That’s normal.

The question post, as I read it, was poorly phrased, and ambiguous in point. No wonder there were no replies there.

For any new guys reading this, you have to make an effort to establish yourself here. Ask questions, answere questions (please not ones that are years old), give feedback on others work, share your work, etc. So many new folks sign on, make a post or two more, then never are heard from again. There are others here, who I can’t honestly say that I have seen any of their work in ages, but they are still active helpful participants in one way or another. All I can say is that it took many posts on here myself before I felt to be an accepted part of the forum. Far more than two.

OK, your other two threads were started on January 3 and 4, respectively.  Four days later, you add this, your third thread, to annouce you're quitting the forum for lack of responses.

Hello!

I don't mean to be mean here, but what the OP actually wrote, after some fact checking reads to me this way:

"People I quit because I don't like every single one of you. I posted two new threads on here and I got absolutely no answers that I read. Good bye!"

Somehow I can't get myself to feel sorry here. Have a nice day!

Paweł

All comments and critique welcomed. Thanks for your honest opinions!

My attitude changed when some say that they did reply to his posts. That, along with the nature of his posts left many compelled not to respond. They had no knowledge to impart. Then you throw in a broken website... I don't see a different outcome.

I don't know... maybe he was having a really bad day. It happens. It's too bad, mostly for him. He is losing out on a great resource on many levels.

I gotta agree with you all, you can't move into a new neighborhood and expect to make friends your first week there. These things do take time and if you don't have the patience or time to invest in that, then i kind of wonder why you are in this hobby.

Hi Y'all !

I read this with some interest . I feel for the guy in that he's so frustrated .I read posts .If I don't know the product or whatever , I don't reply . This is because I know where my interests lie and my comments may come across as officious .

Other than that if the post covers an area in any of the modeling Genre that I have done , or been involved in I will comment IF I think it will help .Otherwise I shut up and read only . T.B.

On another note, is anyone enjoying the irony of a thread complaining about lack of responses being the most replied to for this member?

The real irony here to me is that while the OP complains about recieving no or inadequate responses and everyone (including me) is commenting on that, nobody is commenting on the fact that 3 of us DID respond and WE got no reply from the OP.

Sorry, I woke up grumpy today.

I agree it is ironic that the OP is now getting more repies than he probably ever expected.

Wonder how he would feel if he was the last person to post on a thread, and have no one reply after. This happens to me, I call myself "a thread killer" but I also understand that maybe my comment finished the topic or was so far out that no one new how to reply.

I try to respect everyone here, we all have active, busy lives so looking for someone to give you feedback on as stated ambiguous at best questions well.... sounds kinda immature to me.

No hard feelings OP, hate me if it makes you feel better, I personally will continue to enjoy the forums and contribute if I can,  or hijack a thread for fun.

Sorry, I woke up grumpy today.

You old Grump!  LOL.

To quote Rambo that quoted Von Mensteins Revenge..., " All you mugs need to get back to building." Ha!

Sorry--I woke up feisty! I was at the bench until 12:30 last night. I finally dozed off at around 2:00am. Work is really getting in the way of my fun.

Since the OP went bye bye-- here is a story that has nothing to do with this thread:

Over lunch yesterday I went into my local Hobbytown to get some paint. I asked one of the employees for some advice, and inevitably the conversation turned to how his day was going, cuz I asked that. He tells me a ghastly story.

The short of it is that he was in a public location where he heard a guy talking smack to a girl. HobbyTown guy mumbled some comment about how he was treating her, turns to face the offender, gets coldcocked square in the mouth. At this, HobbyTown guy shows me a big grin revealing mostly gums. He lost at min 6 teeth. All the front upper and lower teeth are gone. I was stunned.

And how is your day...

Me too! I can't believe you said that. I've been calling myself a "thread killer" for at least a decade, and I thought I invented the term.

Cool to hear you and Steve have thought the same. Small world.

Yeah it was pretty scary to see the damage done. HobbyTown Man claimed to retort with a punch into the guys chest that sent him to the ground. I have a sense that there was much more to this story that I was not being told.

I am not sure it's all that civilized in WI. Lots of problems here, and one best be careful, or one might get capped. A number of road rage incidents ended in gunfire.

You just made me think of Bad Luck Schleprock, from the "Pebbles & Bamm-Bamm Show" in the 70s.  He'd show up, and all of a sudden, the party was over.

Do you guys have any links to that story?  I've been searching but any search that includes "hobby lobby", or "hobbylobby" returns page after page of political stories.  I also searched on "hobby town", since you mentioned that chain, but still couldn't find anything.
