The only added "restriction" is that if your within 3 miles of an airport, you call and notify them that you are flying.
The registration thing is a joke and I hope it dies out or gets recinded.
Technically you are to stay under 400'.
There are "Temparary Flight Restrictions" TFR's that are issued daily. There was one just issued right after we bombed Syria stating that if your within 3 miles of a military base, you must fly under 400'. A lot of these will prevent any flying within 30 miles of Air Force One or some other high profile government operation.
I gotta have my RC flying fix or else building anything with wings drives me crazy. I love my static models, but for me nothing beats starting up a 1/4 scale F4U, flying it, then doing a perfect landing.
Ironically, I do not belong to club, like others, the politics can be a pain. I have worked a deal to fly off a closed runway at a local airport.
Storing them can be "interesting". They do make great conversation pieces when hanging off the living room ceiling, but then they start leaking and dripping fluids and that doesn't go too well with everyone else who lives in the house. So off to the basement and garage they go.
Oh and my RC problem is just as bad as my plastic problem, I cannot have just one, and also have a "stash" of RC models.
And I have a small house.
