Not from movies; (sorry for the drift...) but here are two of my favorite real Navy quotes;

1. Overheard in the CIC of USS Helena as radar operators watched the Japanese fleet closing and anxiously awaited the order to commence firing.

"*****; what are we gonna' do; board 'em?

2. Heard in the gun gallery of one of the CVE's of Taffy Three at Leyte Gulf.

"Hang on boys, we're sucking 'em into 40mm range!"

From Babalon 5:

Ambassador Malori is introduced to a friend of Ambassador Delenn:

Nolari:  I have been studying the Earthers for somew time now.  They can create amazing works of art, magnificient musical compositions that would astound you.  But, what is the one song that has been sung for centuries?

You put your lefdt hand in, you take your left hand out, you put your left hand in and shake it all about.  Youi do the Hokey Pokey and give a little shout, that's what it's all about.

I have had the computer working on this for a week!  It means nothing! There is no explanation for it!

As Molari goes to fix another drink, Delenn and her guest go to sit down and her friend says quietly, :I rather enjoyed it".  She quickly tell hin not to mention it and Delenn quietly respondss _Trust me".

I know it's a bit long, but....

I'm going through the whole series now, prophetic in some ways.  The Centauri civilation is now headed by a insane Emperor who could be related to Caligula but even more insane.  Earth Gov. has offices like the Ministry of Peace who has a enforcement branch called Night Watch, much like the Brown shirts of Germany as well as Psy Corp who monitors telepaths and their enforcement section wear black uniforms.  Walter Koenig is good in his role of Bester the Psy Cop.  On etime he was asked who he found out about something ahd he said, "I'm a telepath...work it out."

A bit of a tangent, but I noticed yesterday, while reading an article about golfer Stewart Cink, that "looper" as Bill Murray used it in "Caddyshack", appears to have been adopted by sports reporters as a synonym for "caddy".

Raiders of the Lost Ark

Indy looks glum - snakes, why'd it have to be snakes?

Sallah looks on, says Asps, very dangerous. You go first.

====

Indy to Marion: it's not the years, it's the mileage

====

Escaping from the savages, Indy climbs into the seaplane; after getting airborne, he notices the big snake in the cockpit with him. Jocks, the pilot sitting behind him, tells him to show a little backbone.

Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade

Indy to the rich collector: that belongs in a museum!

====

Indy to Henry Jones: how'd you know she was a Nazi?

Henry: she talks in her sleep.

Indy: says something about the age differential.

Henry: I'm as human as the next man.

Indy: I was the next man.

====

Indy and Henry escape the zeppelin in a parasite biplane, and immediately the Luftwaffe is shooting at them. Henry mans the rear turret gun, shooting uncontrollably and shoots off a big chunk of the rudder. Indy notices the sudden lack of control, and Henry says, Son, I'm sorry, but they got us.

====

Henry to a Nazi - do you think my son would be stupid enough to bring the book all the way back here?

Indy - well, uhhh

Henry - you didn't, did you?

Indy - uh

Henry - you did! I should have sent it to the Marx Brothers!

Avengers Endgame

Ant-Man - so Back to the Future is bulls***?

====

Fat Thor - I should be the one who does it

Captain America suggests waiting ( maybe this was Iron Man)

Fat Thor - do you know what's coursing through my veins?

Iron Patriot - cheese whiz?

====

Nebula - they didn't suspect anything

Thanos - the arrogant never do (shortly before his defeat)

====

Iron Man has just takes the infinity stones from Thanos. Thanos is incredulous. Iron Man glares at him, says, and I am Iron Man, and snaps his fingers to kill Thanos.

One for the Ladies .  .  .

In the stagecoach scene in 'Tombstone', Mr. Fabian (Billy Zane) has just described the "quintessential frontier type" to a very interested Josephine Marcus (Dana Delany).

Her response (like she was ordering a steak.); "I want one."

"Why do I do this? Because the money's good, the scenery changes and they let me use explosives, okay?"

From Kelly's Heroes

Don Rickles: Hey, hey, I just fouind a mine.

Telly Savalas:  What kind is it?

Don:  The kind that blows up!

From MASH

Hawakeye and a nurse in a tent looking at the dentist laying in a coffin.

Donald Sutherland:  He needs it for his survival and it certainly wouildn't do you any harm either.

This was a rough idea of the actual dialog, I haven't seen the movie in a long time.

In regards to that stinking badges line from Blazing Saddles, I was flipping through the channels and it was either on TCM/TNT or the western channel I think but I hit at just the right moment in a old movie where the bad guys used that line about not needing any stinnking badges.  I wish I had made a note about what movie it was.
