Carry on Screaming had its moments: To the best of my memory

Harry H Corbett's Inspector questioning Jim Dales's boyfriend character,

Inspector: What was your girlfriend wearing when she disappeared in the woods.

Boyfriend: A chequered jacket and a brown skirt.

Inspector: Did you get that down.

Boyfriend: I BEG your pardon.

Inspector: I wasn't talking to you, did you get that all down in your notes Sergeant.

Sergeant: Yes sir.

No matter how many years pass just sticks in the head. Thinking might have to find them and watch them again.

The 'Carry On' films had tons of great one-liners, truly awful puns, and schtick from old music-hall routines. My three most memorable:

Kenneth Williams (Julius Caesar): “Infamy, infamy… they’ve all got it infamy!” (Carry on Cleo, 1964)

Sid James (King Henry VIII): “Has she been chaste?” Kenneth Williams (Thomas Cromwell): “All over Normandy.” (Carry On Henry, 1971)

Terry Scott (Cardinal Wolsey): “A drink, Ma’am?” Joan Sims (Queen Marie): “Thank you.” Cardinal: “I can heartily recommend the porter here.” Queen: “Really? Then do send him up to my room later.” (Carry On Henry, 1971)

Lt Dan: I thought that I’d try out my sea legs.

Gump: You ain’t got no legs, lieutenant Dan....
