Glad to hear you are ok, now, sir!  Since I had heart surgery 9 years ago, I have been taking an anti-coagulant drug called Coumadin (Warfarin.)  It extends the blood clotting time greatly to prevent strokes, but yes, you have to be very careful with the hobby knives!

Wow...glad to hear everything turned out as well as can be expected. It seems like you have a very positive attitude and I hope you make a fast recovery. My thoughts are with you, sir.

Gosh GM, hope you kick this thing in the culo. High BP is not good and like you said, regular visits to the doctor is a must. Presently I have borderline hypertension and take 5mg of Lisinopril daily to keep the numbers down.

What’s important is your still with your family and the affected areas could heal themselves.  That’s good news. You’re absolutely right about regular doctor visits. I will say from first-hand experience guys are the worst at this and we probably need them the most!

GMORRISON glad to here your OK  l have highblood pressure an high cholesterol take meds for both.Don't want to mess with those to they will take you out short sweet and in a quick hurry. Hope you a speedy recovery.

Glad you got help quickly enough to keep from getting worse.  I share the BP and high cholesterol issues, and the resultant heart attacks.  When I take the morning and night meds, I rattle for half an hour. But been 7 years now and still going.

Glad to hear you are okay after all of that.  My Dad had two strokes at the age of 39, turns out he had a blood disorder where his blood clotted to easily.  It can be a very scary thing to go through.  The brain is a rather remarkable organ, my Dad actually survived 5-6 strokes, and a brain hemorrhage.  He was still able to care for himself after a stint in a nursing home. 

It's good you caught it now, medication can keep them well controlled, and can keep you stroke free.  Best wishes for you and your family. 

GM - Glad you have encouragement from the pro's, scary thing to go through. I had a series of strokes a few months ago, left with an evaluation of 30% deficit of motor skills, minor vision issues, but things are still showing sporadic improvements. At least now I enjoy return of mental clarity, can write and plan activities OK now.

I hope you just zing right through this with a full recovery, please do keep us up to date about how you're getting on.
