This was a solo build without my boss Master Ezra.  Lol!

The actual size of my mancave is approximately a 5x15 space.  The bench as GMorrison swears by needs only to be a few inches of work space horizontally and vertically.  I do agree with GMorrison's logic.  

This is my storage area of my work space and the modeling tools necessary for a build.  My area is very modest compared to other FSM Forum Members.  Some photos I've seen are just absolutely unbelievable.  One day when I grow up maybe I can attempt to purchase a home and have a finished basement with space.  But for now this works really great!

You are a humble man so I'll state the obvious.

Your grandson will be so full of memories of time spent with his grandparents that it couldn't be overstated.

My one grandfather predeceased my birth by a couple of years. He was a true model builder, something my father never really picked up on, so it passed to me.

My other grandfather had a sign on the door of his mancave (figuratively speaking) that read "DO NOT DISTURB". he'd come out for meals and sports on tv, but never invited us grandkids in.

Many years ago Mrs. Toshi was employed at a gas station/fast food service called Sheetz in Streetsboro, Ohio.  My daughter and niece were also employees as well.  When Mrs. Toshi made a 5 year tenure with Sheetz, all employees and a guest, receive a all expense paid vacation of 2 nights and 3 days at Seven Springs Ski Lodge in Pennsylvania.

Thats where the head quarters for the owners of Sheetz are.  At Seven Springs, we were lavished with food and drinks including alcohol of which Mrs. Toshi and I do not partake in.  I was very impressed as most companies will not pay for alcohol beverages.

Instead, we enjoyed free entertainment with performances of live bands, craft making, free massages, and just generally taking in the beautiful view and enjoying ourselves.  

One day Mrs. Toshi was told by her manager that a display stand needed to be tossed out in the garbage area.  Some other responsibilities of Mrs. Toshi was food preparation, cashing in registers for customers, cleaning of facilities, stocking of products, and upkeep of the Sheetz proprerty.

The display stand was utilized for breakfast sandwiches for early risers that needed to go to work, fill up in gas, and get a quick bite to eat.

This display stand was painted in a god aweful blue.  We brought home this stand and I proceeded to sand down the rack, primer the stand with Rustoleum gray primer, and I finally AB the stand with a NEO by Iwata and a air compressor purchased at Harbor Frieght and Tools.  

I utilized Model Master flat black and as you can see below, the breakfast sandwich stand is now a refurbished display stand for my Tamiya 1/32 Corsair with other notable builds from Zoukei Mura to Italieri.

As for the passing of the torch, you are one of the very prolific kit builders on FSM Forums as well as the many fine veterans that have WIP posts.  I can only stand back in awe by everyone's build and hope when I grow up to be a big boy that my WIP kits will look as half as good as the members builds.

Now if I may Tojo72, when I'm building kits with Master Ezra, he sits on my lap.  When he was 3, it was all good.  Now that he's 4 and growing like a weed, I can't have him on my lap anymore so we squeeze our butts in the computer chair and build in that fashion.  As the term goes; "No excuses, just make it happen".  Lol!

Above my bench which used to be a study desk for my son during his high school years is another display stand from Sheetz that was used for candies at the cash registers.

As you can see, I have my very coveted hobby of football cards displayed and added to my hobby of building WWII aircraft.

Another discarded stand from Sheetz. I have no idea what was displayed on this very weird looking and strange looking stand.  As you can see, I don't even no what to make out of it and how to use it as part of my display area.  At the very least you can see Ezra's very old school rubber band powered balsa wood aircraft.

I have no available area for my finished aircraft kits to display so I decided on a very unorthodox way in displaying my builds.  As "Pink Floyd" sang, The Wall!

The aircraft builds displayed here were built before Ezra was born.  The Monogram Visible B-17 was built with a complete set of internal components of PE, my very first try of purchasing and building with PE.  I had no idea what the hell I got myself into!  Lol!  I now really enjoy working with PE.  A photo of this build was entered in the Digital Readers Gallery.  

This was to my very shocked mind, my first display in FSM Forums Digital Readers Gallery.  Anyone interested in sharing their builds on FSM Forums Digital Readers Gallery, should do so.  You just never know the outcome of the editors choice.

      This is one time I am glad I don't do photos much. My " Man-Cave" is my room which is also my Bedroom!

 No pictures of my private space! But there is a narrow area across the room that sports a work table( Folding,3x6) and then underneath. This is my work area, But some health Maintenance equipment is visible even then. There is enough room to build four ships and a plane at one time. Well stacked, I might add!

 Oh, I did steal an idea from you. All planes and yes, even some sport boats get hung on the wall across from the window!

The Falcon build was a extremely memorable build with Ezra.  First off it was a old school AMC 1970's original Falcon Kit.  The styrene was incredibly thick.  When finished it felt like you were holding 20lbs. of dead weight!  

While Ezra and I AB this kit, we were utilizing the highlited effects or more commonly known as weathering technique.  The Falcon was so big, it took over an hour just to highlight the details with a AB and Testors black enamel high gloss paint.  

The poor old Harbor Frieght and Tools compressor became so hot that I had to stop several times to just cool off the main housing of the compressor.  Lol!  What?  Is it that funny?  As they say; "You pay for what you get"!  And I payed only $99.00 for the Harbor Frieght and Tools compressor.  

It also included a Chinese made siphon two stage AB of which still works although I don't utilize it that much since I was turned on by all of you members on the Iwata AB line.  I know for a fact that at some point in the future, I would like to purchase some high end Iwata AB and Iwata compressor.  Until then, I'm overjoyed building kits with Ezra!

Have you visited the "My other hobby" thread that I made?  It looks absolutely insane on how much money and time spent on collecting stamps, coins, and football cards with Mrs. Toshi and Ezra!  So I'll show you that I completely lost my mind as well as Mrs. Toshi whom had a out of body experience when I wanted to purchase the Tamiya $300.00 Mosqiuto Kit!  

Well it was worth it.  I so enjoyed the WIP of the kit build sharing my day to day activities with FSM Forum Members.  It was also chosen by the FSM editors for the Digital Readers Gallery.  It goes to show you that I am just learning on how to build WWII aircraft.  

Compared to the veterans here, my build is mediocre at best.  But the exciting feeling I get and support you've all given me makes this hobby so fun especially when young Ezra is involved.

Hi, Toshi - The space craft fighter that Ezra airbrushed looks really well done. I never airbrushed anything until I was in my early twenties, and it didn't look as good as Ezra's work. 

Please tell Ezra I said he's a very good modeler, and I think you're the example of a really good man and Grandfather. I like that you're so kind and appreciative of your loved ones, especially Mrs. Toshi.

Your hobby loft looks like a great place to spend quality time with your little assistant, in time he will understand the value of the fond memories that you both are creating. I'll bet he will teach his son's and grandson's the tradition.

There are days as well as times that Ezra can get a little mischievous with the AB.  He tried to AB the cat once, luckily for that cat, she was a lot faster than Ezra!  He's getting the hang of it, but you can at times still see his child like curiosity engaged.

That's when I have to step in and take charge of the situation.  He likes to take the assorted sandpaper and sponge files as they are very colorful.  I don't mind at all, it's when he starts to run around the house and hide things in that I get very frustrated with him.  I can't find tools at times for weeks at a time as Ezra will hide my modeling supplies within his toys!  Lol!  

Thank you for the very kind words, I will let Ezra know that he's a good modeler.  As for his future, I can only very simply lead by example and show him other opportunities that are available.  But as everyone here knows, having fun in ones hobby is the key to a happy and successful life!  Thank you for the read and reply.

Toshi and Ezra!

      Hey guys, building four at a time is easy. Ya just stack them on the top of the paint indexing drawers( A little plastic file cabinet.) Two  models wide and two high. The one I work on gets front position.

 I do have to admit to you Tosh that I am a little tad jealous. You are building so much time with Ezra and I never got to do that with mine. All because of a snooty response to something said in a very Emotional time ( My first Wife's Memorial Service). Not me -(Them ) The Children ( Mine).

You have a very nice work/display area.  I would be nervous with the ones in the railing, seems like a long drop it they fell.  Also you have a lot of trust in those Command Hooks for hanging the builds on the wall.

Ok here is my current setup in a spare bedroom which I share with my mother-in-law who is a scrapbooker. I have two walls

A couple of old nightstands with a piece of leftover melamine for a top. The wall shelf is an old headboard.

I just added on the left side of my bench a spraybooth made from leftover plywood, melamine, and plexiglass. The fan was $13 from Amazon. Works for now

And the biggest project I've done to date. My display cabinet. 8 feet long 6 feet high. The shelves came from a store going out of business.  Plexiglass doors to help with the dust.

And last is my stash. In the closet of the bedroom I use for my man cave
