                        lbc64, yeah I got your e-mail address but Captain Stupid (me) thought it was for something else completely. I'll shoot of the price list when I get home tonight.

                        Also, has anybody else noticed that it's kind of quite around here at the moment?

                        Hey guys, I need some help: what paints would you suggest for the Boeing 737 AEW&C Wedgetail? I'm building one atm for a GB (Eye in the Sky) and need to know your opinions. It seems a bit more on the white side than, say the Hornets, although that depends on what light it's photographed in... Hope you can help. Thumbs Up [tup]

                        I agree completley this guy is excellent. I printed this article out ages ago as a reference for myself, just on general painting.

                        lbc64: can you clarify which city you're in and what kit you're building? Aussie Armour might make some, I believe that High-Planes Models makes some, as well as World War Two Productions.

                        Hi all,

                        I need a little help. I'm after some tank tracks (1/35) here in Aust.
                        I can only get metal tracks from the local model shop, these cost
                        a lot and take a long time to come in. If someone could help with
                        a supplier or mailorder place or whatever that would be great.

                        Can anyone help me, I'm about to start builing the special edition Hasegawa kit ( Nakajima KI-43 Hayabusha 'Manchoukuo air corps' in 1/32 scale. The problems is the colour of the cockpit and wheel wells ,the instructions call for a metallic blue colour which to me doesn't look right.
                        I.ve built other Japanese planes in the past and the cockpit colour was a pale green colour,but these were navy planes and my new plane is an army plane.
                        Can anyone help as I can't find much info on the net about Japanese army planes .

                        Shock [:O]Looks like a few of you have a large stash of unbuilt kits out there, and I can tell you that it is wise to know how much they are worth especially if you intend to move, on one of my many moves the Pirate [oX)]removalist Boohoo [BH]Boohoo [BH]lost some of my boxes that contained my hobby equipment including built models, they were never found. Got some money for the lost but it didn't cover the whole lost. A lot of the arguments was over the value of the built kits - how do you put a value on the effort, time and items such as glue and paint that you use to build the kitQuestion [?]

                        The one thing I did learn from this was to pack my models myself and then carry them with me in my car.
                        Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

                        The Snowy Mt guys came to the resque - they had one 2nd hand A-10 kit. Bit pricy for what it is but I've painted myself into a corner on this one.

                        hmmm . . . unfortunately mine is partially built and is sitting in a corner back home (ie several thousands of kms away from me). I got mine for 45 bucks, and if my memory serves me correctly, Tamyia's 48 A-10 is not that rare in Perth. You could check out some of their sites, like Perth Hobby Centre, Stanbridges, etc. I'm sure the other lads can help you out. Good luck!

                        I did a real rough calculation and figured about 3000 to 3500 bucks worth of models. I didn't add in the hundreds of dollars of paint or the airbrush or the compressor, etc, etc... Sometimes it's just better just not knowing.

                        My Potential Project Stowage (a fancy term I like to use for stash!) is over the 200 mark last count.I conservatively valued it at about $7500 for the removalists that moved me from Canberra to Melbourne in May.I'm starting to worry about room,especially for my 1/12 '57 Chev.Better stop typing and start building....

                        Yes I worked it out - for the wife - about $200 dear. Trust me.

                        Or what about how much room it takes up. Mine is one contining changing wall of the shed. The changes then go under the house.

                        On the list almost finished..1/350 USS Essex
                        1/35 Tamiya Tiger
                        1/48 Tamiya Sherman

                        On the list but a long way off 1/16 T34
                        1/16 Kubelwagen
                        1/350 Nimitz
                        1/350 Arleigh Burke
                        3 x 1/35 Dragon 251 half tracks
                        And it goes on and on.......

                        Come on you model companies release something else, anything!

                        My lovely wife, Lori's stash is growing as well. Probably over 250 Reaper and LOTR figures alone, plus a dozen vinyl, resin and plastic large scale figures as well as several aircraft and SF models. We are runnng out of storage room!
