MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM!
Charred honey.

That'd be hell to clean after running the engines for a bit.
Kinda like trying to clean your barbie after cooking ribs!

darson, It looks like you have found a bit of info on Millers service career. I hope that all those different MKs mean something to someone.Wink [;)] I have no idea as I'm mostly into machines that stay on the ground and have 4 or 2 wheels.Big Smile [:D]

You guys must be reading my mind.

I have started to do a bit of research on Miller, but the details are a bit scant at this stage. What I have found out to date is:

In 1942 Miller joined the RAAF and qualified as a pilot that November. Travelling to England via America, he met Peggy Wagner, his future wife, in Boston, Massachusetts.
In England "Dusty" Miller (as he was known in the RAF) flew Tigers and Beauforts, before becoming a Mosquito pilot with No 169 Squadron. I don't know exactly when Miller joined 169 Sqn, but I'll keep looking.

In January 1944 169 Squadron received its operational equipment in the form of Mosquito Mk.II night fighters and these were immediately used to begin night intruder operations against German night fighters both in advance of the bomber stream and against enemy airfields. The squadron used Mosquito MK.II until July 1944 when they upgraded to the Mosquito Mk.VI. The squadron refitted with the Mosquito Mk.XIX in Jan of 1945.

The Mosquito Mk.II's and Mk.VI's carried the squadron code VI.

I'll keep looking to try and dig up some further info on a particular aircraft that Miller flew.

Cheers

Mike, True Details don't do a resin set in 1/32 for the Sabre, but Eduard do a detail set (32027) for the Hasegawa F-86F-40 Sabre .

The URL for Snowy Mountain Models is http://www.smmodels.com/

What did they sting you for that?

Also, I did post this in the GB thread, but I'm after an acrylic paint to suit the blue on RAAF roundels, any ideas????

Oh yeah, I do like the 500cc Moto GPSmile [:)]

That Rossi, never seen anyone slide a bike so much for so long around soooooo many corners[:0][:0]

Got that right mate. The F1 is the way to go. Much more interesting. I don't mind the V8's though, but I couldn't watch them for 6 or 7 hours straight. Too bad Bathurst will probably delay the F1. Should be a good race.

mg - That PBY is looking great. The paint job is very nicely done. It'll look awesome in a diorama.

Looking good mate!!

I remember you playing with the plastic in the box no more than a month ago!

What paints did you use. BTW, I would go for Satin as well to give a nice "in scale" sheen.

cheers

You might be able to get a Qantas roo decal of the right size & spray it white before applying. Has anyone tried the blank decal designed to go in an inkjet printer?

I love how filthy those Italian tanks are. I guess the diggers had to resort to using them as Churchill was trying to kill us off. Apparently in Korea every Oz grunt had his very own jeep c/- septics leaving them whenever bogged or broken down.

j.s I think that the white roo may have to be hand painted or done using a home made stencil, this, and trying to locate a kit could add to the challenge of this subject.

Maybee at some time in the future firestorm or mousehouse might look at producing one.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.
