Thank you for the greeting, Sean.

Will someone take pity on a newcomer and explain just what are GB forums and how one finds them?

Michael

Firstly Sign - Welcome [#welcome] fireguard62b!!
More and more Aussies are showing up here, it really is a good sign for the hobby Down Under.

Ok Michael,
The GB forums are located on the first page of the forums.
As you scroll down you will see the sections Aircraft, Armour etc.
And the end of these is the title Group Builds.

This is the link to the Aussie GB section-
http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=30833

Now, this is the second Aussie GB we have had, and I can say that I have never had more fun building models than with this crew of hooligansEvil [}:)]

Peruse the pages at your leisure, and when you stumble across the name Kremps, don't ask, just go with the flow.
Questions will lead to heartache and a string of senseless postsBig Smile [:D]

Sign - Ditto [#ditto] Nice one Sean Sign - Ditto [#ditto]

Mike (madmike), John Baxter was doing a talk on Luft 46 which branched out into 'what if' scenarios and using your imagination in modeling rather than slaving to a purely historical subject. This led to him telling us about his RAAF Rotodyne, which of course led to him talking about a guy in WA who has built a very nice one in QANTAS colors. Which led me to think "hang on, there can't be two of them surely". I spoke to John after his talk and sure enough it was Michael Johnson that he was talking about.

Sign - Welcome [#welcome] to the forum Michael & fireguard62b, this is a great group so don't feel worried about asking questions. There always great to have another Melbournian along with us. By the way Michael I'm in the (outer) eastern suburbs, where abouts are you located?
Oh, and I couldn't agree with Sean more, the Group Builds (GB's) are a huge amount of fun.

Roosta, I've done some searching and about all I can come up with is that the squadron code for 75 Sqn was GA. As for camo scheme you would probably be safe with the Foliage Green with a white tail as shown in the top picture in Bandha's last post which is a 75 Sqn aircraft.

Cheers

Thanks for that Smile [:)]

I enjoy the whole "what if" genre and John is right, it really expands the way you can approach the hobby.

cheers

Michael, this link will provide you with the info you need regarding image size etc.

I might be telling you how to suck eggs, but here goes anyway.
To pst an image, firstly you need somewhere on the net to store tham.
Alot of people use this site-
http://photobucket.com/

It's free, and provides you with somewhere to store your in progress pics etc, or anything pic for that matter.
Just create your own account, and there you go.

This is another sight that people use-
http://rongeorge.com/modules/Gallery/
Ron is a great supporter and advocate for Finesacle and the modeling community in general, and has kindly provided this site for others.

For more info, read through this link-
http://www.finescale.com/fsm/community/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=10017
Really helpful!!!!

Now, for a little more info, there is another modeler who provides a site with a bucket of useful info.
http://www.swannysmodels.com/
Swanny is a bloody good modeler, and all round nice guy.
You can usually see his works in progress in the Aircraft section, and he is always around to answer questions, or provide info of some sort.

Lets face it, if there is something you can't find elsewhere, then ask here, someone can alsways help.

Gday fellas, I picked up Hasegawa's 1/72 Mk21 Green Ghost Beaufighter yesterday. I didn't realise what a nice little kit it is, really nice, but a touch expensive for 1/72. I was a little dissapointed that mine didn't have the hedgehog exhausts as I thought they were putting some white metal ones in the Beau kits now. Oh well I'll just get some aftermarket ones. Otherwise it looks great.

Cheers...Snowy

Hiya Alek.
I'm a little Confused [%-)] about the Happy B-Day [bday] thing.

Maybe you don't know, so I'll give ya a heads up.
ANZAC day is not something we celerbrate, but a comemorative day where we remember those that fell on the shores of Gallipoli at the start of WW I.
It is a special day, where Australians and New Zealanders served side by side in the most atrocious conditions imaginable, and lost their lives.
We also remember those that have served since, and still serve in the armed forces.

Lest We Forget

Some of the Ventura publiucations cover some Jap planes, although the range isn't huge. They're quite well done but you probably want something with broader scope.

Has anyone had any experience in printing their own decals? I've read a couple of sites and it seems that good results are hard to get with any certainty.

Is their any recommendations as to the type and brand of paper, sealers etc.

I've got an inkjet at home and possible access to a good colour laser printer.

Do the risks to your printer seem to outway the advantages?

I want to produce some Great War USAS Roundels, and an orange and black (and maybe yellow) symbol.

Any help is appreciated.

Celestialsphere.
