Well, we'd all be worse off $'wise if we built kit planes (real ones) or if we were petrol heads. (Maybe some of you are!)

Seeing so many of you have overloaded shelves, I've been deperately trying to find the 1/48 Tamiya A-10 kit for my nephew. Does anyone have one they'd be willing to sell me? I've got him the Eduard details & resin seats but the kit itself is nowhere to be found.

I have attached a link to my Boomerang photos. I'm a bit dubious about the wings as they don't seem to match the rest of it but who knows, they seemed to be part of it at the times.

hmmm . . . unfortunately mine is partially built and is sitting in a corner back home (ie several thousands of kms away from me). I got mine for 45 bucks, and if my memory serves me correctly, Tamyia's 48 A-10 is not that rare in Perth. You could check out some of their sites, like Perth Hobby Centre, Stanbridges, etc. I'm sure the other lads can help you out. Good luck!

The Snowy Mt guys came to the resque - they had one 2nd hand A-10 kit. Bit pricy for what it is but I've painted myself into a corner on this one.

Shock [:O]Looks like a few of you have a large stash of unbuilt kits out there, and I can tell you that it is wise to know how much they are worth especially if you intend to move, on one of my many moves the Pirate [oX)]removalist Boohoo [BH]Boohoo [BH]lost some of my boxes that contained my hobby equipment including built models, they were never found. Got some money for the lost but it didn't cover the whole lost. A lot of the arguments was over the value of the built kits - how do you put a value on the effort, time and items such as glue and paint that you use to build the kitQuestion [?]

The one thing I did learn from this was to pack my models myself and then carry them with me in my car.
Wayne I enjoy getting older, especially when I consider the alternative.

Can anyone help me, I'm about to start builing the special edition Hasegawa kit ( Nakajima KI-43 Hayabusha 'Manchoukuo air corps' in 1/32 scale. The problems is the colour of the cockpit and wheel wells ,the instructions call for a metallic blue colour which to me doesn't look right.
I.ve built other Japanese planes in the past and the cockpit colour was a pale green colour, but these were navy planes and my new plane is an army plane.
Can anyone help as I can't find much info on the net about Japanese army planes .

Thanks Sushi

Hi all,

I need a little help. I'm after some tank tracks (1/35) here in Aust.
I can only get metal tracks from the local model shop, these cost
a lot and take a long time to come in. If someone could help with
a supplier or mailorder place or whatever that would be great.

Thanks

lbc64: can you clarify which city you're in and what kit you're building? Aussie Armour might make some, I believe that High-Planes Models makes some, as well as World War Two Productions.

John

I agree completley this guy is excellent. I printed this article out ages ago as a reference for myself, just on general painting.

lbc64, if you want to send me an email I will forward WWII productions full price list and catalogue if you want. These are made locally and get very good raps.

This is from the current catalogue
35027 Tiger Early Track
Replacement tracks for Tamiya, Italeri, Dragon and Academy kits of the Tiger I.
Set contents: 220 links. $45.00

35028 Tiger Late Track
Replacement tracks for Tamiya, Italeri, Dragon, AFV Club and Academy kits of the Tiger I & Sturmtiger.
Set contents: 220 links. $45.00

35029 Tiger I Early Detail set
Detail set for Tamiya, Italeri and Academy kits of the Tiger I.
Set contents: over 45 detail parts. $15.00

35030 Tiger I Mid/Late Detail set
Detail set for Tamiya, Italeri and Academy kits of the Tiger I and Sturmtiger.
Set contents: over 45 detail parts. $15.00

If these are a bit pricey then check out RHPS or AFV club from either greatmodels or squadron.

Cheers

Hey guys, I need some help: what paints would you suggest for the Boeing 737 AEW&C Wedgetail? I'm building one atm for a GB (Eye in the Sky) and need to know your opinions. It seems a bit more on the white side than, say the Hornets, although that depends on what light it's photographed in... Hope you can help. Thumbs Up [tup]

lbc64, yeah I got your e-mail address but Captain Stupid (me) thought it was for something else completely. I'll shoot of the price list when I get home tonight.

Also, has anybody else noticed that it's kind of quite around here at the moment?

Hi there everyone Big Smile [:D]

We too are Aussie Modelers.
Me, (Kaz, tha missus sheila!) and Adam (tha bloody hubby!).

I build 1/72 Biplanes and Triplanes, and Adam in into just about anything WWII, or military. (Just not so into WWI)

We are in Sydney, and now that we are both modeling, our house is like living in Lilliput!

So, G'day to all you fellow Aussie Modellers, and I hope that one day we all meet for RUM AND COKES!!! Party [party]

Woohoo, Rum and cokes all around!!!! Party [party]

I have managed to get halfway through my two spitfires and have just received the 1/48 Special Hobby Miles Magister. The best part is that it has the markings for the sole RAAF version of it!!!! This makes life so much easier. I wil post photos when I have finisged it but it will also be an article on the Aussiemodeller site.

Darren, the RAAF had only one Magister which I suppose is why it is unheard of. There is also only one photo that I have seen of it in RAAF service. I have included a few photos of the model in progress. It has reminded me why I don't like PE as there are heaps of small fiddly bits to shape and stick on the model.

Hi Everyone,
Just bumped into this thread myself. I'm in Melbourne and I model almost everything, from time to time.
G'day.
Cheers
Tony

I'm just taking it one GB at a time.
