yeah you could say that,i used to go to kellets in liverpool but thats a fair while ago

i try to get back down a couple of times a year, a mate and i drove up to newcastle last time i was down just to go to frontline hobbies.. man talk about a kid in a candy shop

If anyone stumbles across a Hasegawa Mk IX Spitfire in their travels could they let me know please.

I've got a couple of detail kits to suit the kit, and now all I need is the kit!!!

Probably went around it the wrong way, kit first THEN detail bits, but hey when you see a deal on eBay, ya gotta take it.

I was looking at the Hobbyco (Sydney) website and came across one. It is on the site as a 1X but if you look at photo it looks like IX. Product code is 9506. The only other place I saw any advertised was Hannants in the UK. They had 3 and the codes were HA09630; HA09656 and HAJT079 (was a IXC).

Just had a look. Definitely a Mk IX, in IDF colours.  

Edit: (H09630) and (H09533 "Closterman") are listed as available from Frontline Hobbies in Newcastle.

ICM also do a Mk IX in 1/48 which isn't too bad if you get one of the good ones. Mine needs replacement prop blades and seat but is also getting new wheels. Some of the quality control is a bit shoddy at times but for $15 - $17 you can't complain too much.

There has also been an update on http://www.aussiemodeller.com/ for anyone interested in the CT-4 and seeing a very well painted 1/48 Vampire Target Tug painted in the yellow/black scheme amongst other things.

This is also a bit of a bump as it seems to be slipping down the bottom of the page again.

Wityh ANZAC day coming up I was wondering what folks are going to be doing on the day? Being Army I have to go to the Dawn Service in the local town prior to the rest of the day at the SGTs Mess amongst other places. Last year I went to the Dawn Service in Melbourne but am unable to this year.

Dave, I've got no idea what's happening on ANZAC Day for me.  It is usually something involving the kids but SWMBO will let me know I'm sure.

Sean if you are still hunting around for the Spitfire Mk.IX, make sure you look out for the Spitfire Mk.IX / XVI from Revell AG.  It's the Hasegawa kit re-boxed and is considerably cheaper than the original.  Here's the box top.

The local cinema here in Albury/Wodonga is running a pre screening for charity on the 23rd Apr.

I have just received some ultracast stuff I had ordered so my next few projects are lining up already. I have in 1/48 two AM Avengers (1x Kiwi and 1 x FAA), 2 x ICM Spitfire Mk VIIs and an ICM Spitfire Mk 9 to do, all in RAAF colours using Red Roo decals. Of course also in the mean time I have to finish an Eduard Aircobra. Or maybe I should add in there the Hasegawa Spitfire Mk VIII and Mk IX I also have sitting in the cupboard? Hmmmm so many decisions.......

May I ask your help for this project ????

Dave you seem to be a bit of a Spitfire nut, so have you heard about Special Hobby coming out with an injection 1/48 Spitfire Mk.VC?  I was browsing Hannants this morning and I saw it listed under "Future Releases"; do you know anything about this?

If they do release a 48th VC Spit you can put me down for a dozen, as well as all the Aussie ones I could do, there blue ones from Malta and Yank ones and Nth African ones and ....  Well you get the picture.

Not so much a Spitfire fan as more by wanting colourful models, I also have multiple Beaufighters, Mosquitoes, Buffalo's etc in my stash to do as well. But if Special Hobby do produce a Vc I would be in it for one or two as well since doing the conversion is a pain in the butt. There are many colourful RAAF versions of the Vc yet to do, but with over 150 kits to work my way through yet my wife to be is watching me like a hawk at the moment as she says I have too many!

Just a little infomation for the aircraft types, the South Australian Aircraft Museum have reopened after their move from their old location to Lipson St  Port Adeliade.     Unfortunately during their move they had a termite attack that damaged a couple of their wooden airframed aircraft (Not happy boys).  

Also what's every one working on at present,  my current projects are;

Dragon's 1/35 'Leopold' Railway Gun  (long term project)

Hasegawa's 1/72 P-40N Warhawk 'White Tail'  (group build project)

It sounds it but some of them have been in progress for over a year now. I have an F-4E that has been in progress for around 5 years now, almost finished but it needs repainting as my skills have improved sinced I started it and can fix it up now.
