Mike, you may have seen this link before when you visited the Aussie Modeller site, it is the Club Connection page. It only has three clubs on it from Melbourne so far, which part of Melbourne are you from?

That would have been the Ansett 737-300 Ollie, Millie and Syd. I took Silver at WASMEx 2005 with that behind the Tigercat Firebomber pictured in the recent ModelArt mag.

I will have to put my thinking caps on and come up with something interesting!

All, If anybody is still interested in joining the Aussie group build for this year, the thread is up and running in the Group Build forum. 

Dave, I saw the Ron's Resin Mk.VC a while ago at a few online stores but didn't pick one up unfortunately.  I have just done a bit of search of the online stores and now I can't find them anywhere .  The only one I have seen built up was by a guy at IPMS last year who gave it great wrap.

Mike that's a great looking A4, you would never know there's not much in the way of interior from the shots you've taken, nice job .

Darson, the Spit Vc is done using the Red Roo conversion set, I didn't even know that Ron's Resin did a conversion for the Vc. Do you have any photos or reviews of it? The Red Roo set  was good for the most part but I didn't like the underwing join. The seam needs to be very precise and there are many panel lines that are under risk.

Carl, The NMF was done using Humbrol Polished Aluminium (Hu 2700 series paints) with several coats of 'One Go' over the top of it.

Good to see you back on line again Bandha, those are some great shots of the Beaufighter that you've posted thanks, I'll need all the reference I can get on the Beaufighter because I'm doing an RAAF one for the Battle of the North Atlantic GB that's going to kick off soon.

As for the Aussie GB, well this year it's going to be Bobby Gibbes Kittyhawk Mk.Ia.  Hopefully this year I won't destroy the kit just before completion date.

Jules, I have no problems with you jumping the gun, I just haven't had the time lately to do any modelling related tasks,  finally can see some light at the end of tunnel that I have seem to got my self in recently, lets hope its not an on comming train.

A group build sounds good to me, eight months is even better! Between work, running a website and my fiance I have even less time to build models!

BUT, I have managed to finish a few more models -

The finished Spitfire Vc using the Red Roo Vc conversion and decals

Academy Spitfire Mk XIVe using Red Roo Decals and the kit OOB

The model line up less 4 models on display in the local hobby shop.

I will have to work out what is a good kit to build for the Aussie GB.

Perhaps something a little different like a Lockheed Electra maybe?

I'm in the process of compiling a list of all of the model clubs in Australia and their contact details for the Aussie modeller website. If you are a member of a club and would like it added please email me the following details to aussiemodeller@hotmail.com

a. the name of the club

b. where it is - state, town/city/suburb

c. contact details eg phone numbers or emails (preferably club not personal email address)

d. what modelling is covered eg aircraft only, all types etc

e. the club website if you have one.

If the club doesn't have one i'll add a page to the AMI site where you can have further details of your club and a few photos etc. I am also doing up a modelling events calender for the site for things like club comps etc. So once again, please send details of them to the above email address.

To those who have joined this thread since my last visit.

Just thought I would put a photo of my current model in progress, a Spitfire Mk Vc using the Red Roo Vc Conversion and Red roo decals for 85 SQN.

I don't know if I'm on the list as I don't usualy venture down this far.

I live in Hazelbrook but will, somtime in the next 12 months, be moving to Grenfell.

As may be seen in other areas I am building a Beaufreighter and am looking for a DC5.

Thanks for the welcome!!!!!!!  I was just looking at another website and found a couple of new releases for next year that you maybe interested in. They are from Airfix. They are an BAE Nimrod MR Mk1; MR Mk2/2p and R Mk1 (all 1/72) and 9 different versions of the Canberra in 1/48. The Nimrod is limited edition. It is one I hoped that one of the companies would do.

My name is Gary and I am from Brisbane. I  model mainly aircraft (1/32 and 1/48) scale but don't mind building tanks, other artillery pieces and the odd ship. I have about 7 models in various stages of construction and hope to have at least two finished by the end of year.

Captain I don't think you have to worry about the weather, it's always lovely in Perth.  Although it does get a wee bit warm in the summer months (40 +) but at this time of year it should be beautiful.

There is a votelet at hyperscale about the decals for the Classic Airframes Canberra. Here is an opportunity to get some RAAF decals on the kit when it is released. Even if you don't make aircraft or do 1/48 kits, please go and vote for RAAF decals.
