I also went home each time with an empty van where-as some of those guys spent two or three hours re-packing their trailers    They brought so much  . I forgot I even had it because of moving to smaller quarters .Squadron is asking $135.96 - Down from $196.95 . Sheesh , I only paid $39.95 for mine . Prices quoted are from the Squadron catalogue I received today .

 I have also been known to discount kits that I have that have been re-released within a year  Of me acquiring them . I have a LOT of cars . Ships are NOT for sale yet  ! Planes Not to many . Armor very little . A good many have been opened and checked and some started ( I/E mold lines removed as is flash .Other than that they are complete . ) Those are usually one or two bucks off retail .

I have never appreciated folks who sell so high I have to walk by .That is obscene in my mind .

A 1/72 scale 4 door 1950 Buick Roadmaster for display alongside either a B-36 or B-47 model.

Just viewed the movie "Strategic Air Command " staring Jimmy Stewart and decided that the Buick looks pretty cool in SAC colours. 

A 1/32 scale McDonnell Aircraft Corp. XF-85 Goblin and transport dolly might be nice.

A trapeze kit for the XF-85 Goblin or F-84 that can be added to a B-36 might be nice.

Dunno if a 1/72 F-84 tail can be easily converted for the parasite aircraft.

Thanks, that's good to here. I did think they felt like the rubber band tracks, but I had read before about vinyl tires.

Bish, I think only the AMT/Ertl ones will dissolve plastic and then a good solid coat of matte varnish will stop it. I've had the rubber style tires on an Italeri Nebelwerfer Maltier halftrack and never had the issue, then again I think they're made out of the same stuff as rubber band tracks. One did crack and split after about five years though.

So you should be ok, I bought another AMT/Ertl F7F Tigercat a few years back and tossed the rubber tires in the trash and replaced them with aftermarket ones - now I just need to get around to building the kit.

Yeap, they'll melt the plastic hubs. Don't ask how I found out... 

How long does it take to affect the plastic. I used vinyl tires on my big 88 a year ago, didn't have much choice. So far doesn't seem to have been a problem.

Believe it or not, one kit in my stash (Fujimi 1/72 scale Phantom FGR.2 'Fire Birds') has both vinyl tires and plastic types. I won't use the vinyl ones for they don't look realistic.

I have a Fujimi F-14 which has the same. I agree, I am not to keen on those black vinyl tires.

You know, something else I would like to see ALL manufacturers do on aircraft kits is make the wheel hubs separate pieces from the tires. That would make painting them so much easier than all the masking or detail painting that's needed to make a wheel look decent. I realize that maybe this isn't so easily done in 1/72nd and smaller scales, but 1/48th and up shouldn't be too hard. I've seen a few 1/32nd kits that have the tire/wheel as one unit, when it could have been easily done as separate units.

I couldn't agree more. I built a 1/48 Accurate Miniatures Dauntless and loved that they had the hubs separate from the wheels. It made the whole process faster and easier.

One item I had thought about for a while is tampo printed det cords on the inside of British jets. No more decal film, no more wrestling with delicate P/E, no more irrigating recessed lines inside the canopy. The technology is already here, it is used on pre-finished models, so someone just has to put two and two together.

Ye, it was the Retro SF kit. Unfortunately, the items of there's still on Star Ship modeller seem to have been out of stock for ages. And the droid has not featured for a while.

I built mine a couple of years back for the Hollywood GB. Your right, it is quite small, but I was just glad to get one.

Is your kit from Retrokit?  They make a nice one.  It's tiny!  A 1/12 plastic kit would be easier t get and build (and enjoy!),

Bish, there was a 1/6 scale pre-finished (Sideshow Collectibles?) Probe Droid.  I had it on pre-order, but reconsidered buying it.  I must have felt a disturbance in the Force or something.

I was not even aware of that. I was surprised when I saw a 72nd kit, I didn't imagine it would warrant a kit. I am glad I got it when I did though, the company seems to be defunct now.

I'd like to see more WWII US prototypes, there's a lot of Luft '46 stuff out there and some of the American planes in development were pretty cool too.  A modern 1/48 F-82 would be nice, I know there's a conversion kit out there, but I've heard it's a beast.  I'd also like to see Bandai do as much of the Star Wars line as they can to be improvements over the old AMT kits.

+1!  I'd love MPM or Meng to give us cool US prototypes like the XP-54 "Swoose Goose", XP-67 Moonbat, XF-11, and the 1940-1950 X-bombers.  A Convair Sea Dart would be awesome as well!

Also +1 on the F-82.  I had hoped Monogram/Revell would give us a new tool kit in 1/48.

As for Bandai's Star Wars line, I'd like to see a TIE bomber, Imperial Probe Droid, and a Star Destroyer in a decent size (maybe 18" - 24" long).

A plastic TIE Bomber would be nice, even in 72nd scale. A larger probe droid would certainly be welcome, in 72nd its pretty small for a stand alone kit.

Yeah, I was hoping Bandai would do the Probe Droid in 1/12 scale.  The full scale prop was around 5 feet high, so it would fit right in with their figure kits.
