I agree, Roger, I myself would buy two or three Suzuki RMX250s, and a Suzuki DRZ400. My RMX race bikes had at least three or even four different configurations and graphics over the years. :)

A new-tool 1/48 B-58 Hustler. Modern naval patrol boats in 1/350 or larger. An affordable Discovery One from 2001: A Space Odyssey.

edit: oh! 1/24 or 1/25 camping gear and offroad accessories.

Karl,

The M/X bikes seem to me to be the best for the model companies because there's a proven track record of builders who love to build each variant of one particular vehicle. Look at the people who concentrate solely on constructing every variation of a BF109, FW190, P-47, P-51, etc. Heck, I see you doing this with the German armor.

Because the M/X racebikes are continuously updated to keep "the edge" on their competitors, every year is another sales opportunity because unlike automobiles which may go unchanged for years, the M/X bike that doesn't offer the "NEW!" feature to capture the heart of the wild eyed rider/racer gets passed over for the company who does create the buzz with the newest "must have" new feature that the series champion claims was the thing that made it all possible.

Another plus I see in these vehicles is the fact that offered in a 1:12 or 1:9 scale allows the old(er) demographic that actually participates in this hobby to work with parts that aren't so difficult to see and handle and the finished product isn't as space consuming on the shelves as the aeroplane.

Then there's the early bikes like the old boardtrack racers, which could be appealing to those who love the WWI era aeroplanes. Anyone who takes a tour of the Barber Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Alabama would see that the variety of subject matter that this genre offers is staggering. Sure, I'm biased for this, but from a mechanical standpoint, they are some of the most fascinating machines the human mind has ever brought forth.

Regards, Roger (PWB)

NUKES! The big boys for the 1/72 scale bombers and the fighter capable ones i.e. B-28, B-61 for the 48th and 32 scale jets. The one company that list them for 1/72 always seems to be out of stock.

Also a Grumman TC-4C would be a nice addition to any NAVY or Marine aircraft collection.

OOH!!! That just got me thinking--a 1982-84 Chevette, and a 1972-74 Ford LTD-II Country Squire Station Wagon!!! Those would be awesome too!

OOH, OOH!! And that's got me thinking that someone needs to come out with a 1967-68 Mercury Cougar. I'm not even a car modeler, but that one would garner my consideration.

OOH, OOH!!
That reminded me of Officer Gunther Toody !!  Whistling
And the Cougar request reminds me to ask for extra parts to build the GT-E and XR7-G versions.
.
I'd like to add my own request for a 1968 Mercury Park Lane Brougham:

Good call!!!

EDIT...OOPS, forgot to quote...."Cadet Chuck"

"An Aero Commander, made by Rockwell in the '60s.  Our company had one so I got a lot of time in it as a passenger and also informal co-pilot!  Nice, high-wing light twin.  But it ain't gonna happen, I know!"

I really love the lines of that plane. We had one (privately owned) at my airport...I loved watching it do pattern work. A hard landing collapsed the nose gear, insurance paid for it....another nose gear collapse a few months after the first repairs were made resulted in an insurance claim denied. Sadly, the plane sat as a "ramp queen" for 6-7 years. The owner worked on it himself, over the years, and was finally able to sell it 2 summers ago.

Anyway...I'd LOVE to see some civil aircraft (singles/twins) in 32nd scale.

Cessna 152/172, Piper Cherokee (Archer/Arrow), Mooney, Bonanza...on and on and on...

Thanks for that link jeff. I saw something else on there I have wanted to add to the pile of r a while, the Pz IV with Panther Schmaltürm. Will be looking forward to that.

That's actually a pretty easy kitbash/conversion to pull off, Bish. I did this one from a DML Pz IV-J and a Verlinden resin turret. You could even use the DML Panther II turret, which is easy to gain the Orange Box series, I believe?

Ye, I was planning on doing that. Accurate Armour does the turret as well. But it was one of those kits I was putting off till later. I'd be in no great rush to get the kit, but at least its another option, and don't have to worry about having a spare Pz IV turret laying around.

Motorcycles, specifically motocross bikes. The development curve on those units from the early 1970's through the 2000's was astounding. Do them in a 1:9 scale like Protar used to do with the roadracing bikes, though I'd be happy with the 1:12 like Tamiya and Hasagawa are doing a bit of right now.

Boy, great call with this one! It is a never-answered mystery as to why some model company has not raided this gold mine! Could you imagine all the Moro-guys, Hare Scramblers, Freestylers, Enduro guys, etc, building two or three or more of the bikes they had and raced?

without a doubt, the greatest mystery in plastic modeling!

I do hope some of the model company's read these posts.

That's what I'm hopping as well, in fact, that's mostly the reason I resurrected this thread.

I would like some one  do a 1/35 scale Dodge ambulance  to the same standards as  AFV club's WC .

On the subject of the WC series  I would really like to see them done in 1/24 scale along with a couple versions of  the WW2 Deuce and how about a Ford G.P.A..

Seems like all the Chucks around here are George Carlin fans!  He wrote three  books, published individually as well as in one big volume.

The name of the triple book is "3 x Carlin:  An Orgy of George."  I would highly recommend it to any Carlin fan (who is not offended  by bad language.)  Guaranteed to keep you awake all night laughing!

Someone mentioned 4 pipe destroyers earlier. I would like to see a nice 1/350 kit of the H.M.S. Cambletown in it's modified version for the St. Nazaire raid.

USS Buchanan would be a good place to start. I mean, Revell gives us a Dresden/ Emden...

Dawg, I agree, it's always worth speaking up on these deals.

Modeling is an excuse to buy books.

I got an email from Dragon about a new Patriot missile launcher that may be of interest. I've sometimes wondered if something like that was out there and now have my answer.

Every time FSM would have it it's questionnaire about what us modelers wanted to see, I would always ask for a 1/32nd OV-10 Bronco, among others. My prayers were answered!! Kitty Hawk released one this year, and it's in my stash. Just proves that the kit makers are listening. I know a few other kits that were on the FSM wish lists have been released, too.

One business model I like to see is re-releasing old kits.

Revell has been doing that for a number of years and now Round Two is copying that business model by re-releasing old car kits.

http://round2models.com

I just picked up the re-release of the AMT Piranha

http://www.c-we.com/piranha/

Hope they pay attention.

I just sent them a note asking for a Javelin re-release as their website includes a " contact us" web page..

A re-release of the old AMT kit of the AMC Javelin would be nice.......especially when prices are this high:

http://ronsmodels.ecrater.com/p/9841031/kit-amt-amc-javelin-amx-74-1-25

I now wish I'd purchased a spare and left it sealed in the box.Bang Head

Isn't that obscene? You're spot-on about the Javelin. I ruined one a few years ago. I wasn't crazy enough to pay that price, but it was still about 100 bucks down the drain.I'd love to see a new one released!

I always love to see old kits re-released just to stick it to the collectors' market and the outrageous prices some people try to extort for a given "rare" model. I mean, rack it up a bit, ok, but some guys just go way past reasonable.

I think I already groused about this on the figure forum. We're seeing more civilian figures coming out in 1/35th everyday but they all seem to be European or Middle Eastern. I wish someone would do some Korean civilians for Korean War subjects- the only Asian civilians I can ever find are Vietnamese. And some Cold War era tankers other than Vietnam would be nice too.

I would love to see 1/16 and 1/24 scale classic fire engines from the 1930's thru the 1960's. Love those split windshields and fat fenders! The late 50's and 60's were made more streamlined but still classics. I saw a piece where Jay Leno saved a 1941 American LaFrance from the scrap heap. Just love the lines of that truck!

I'd like to see more civil aircraft and more commercial ships.  For aircraft, although there is a new Twin Beech, Roden has done their staggerwing, and AMT/Round 2 has just re-released their Stinson Reliant, there are still great golden age civil aircraft with no kits- maybe a Howard DGA, a cabin Waco and a Cessna Airmaster.
