Yes they are. Rangers originated in England in the Middle Ages IIRC. Although Rogers Rangers was a Colonial innovation. Local woodsman formed into militia to range into the wild ahead of the main armies. Scouting, raiding etc. using tactics and techniques learned from fighting with the local Native American tribes. Of course the modern incarnation of the Rangers started in Scotland in WWII based off the British Commando model and organized by Col. Darby as the 1st Ranger Battalion. Again, heavily influenced by you guys.

And yes, I have yet to come across a deck deep in the forest...

Bish, GM beat me to it. Rangers are indeed an Army unit. Historically they trace their lineage back to Rogers Rangers of the French Indian wars of Colonial America in the 1750s (I think that war has a different name in the UK) Rogers standing orders are still taught today to every Ranger and most are still quite applicable- some with a bit of updating/adjustment. And yes those naval Infantry types take on some odd quirks (starting with language) once they have been trained ;)

At first I assumed that was a British vehicle. And the burning in the background mad me think of the burning Kuwaiti oil wells. I goggled RSOV and apparently that's a US Marine vehicle using the land Rover Defender but was introduced in 1992 to replace the M151 MUTT.

I have the VAB 4x4 in my stash. I would like to get the 6x6 as well.

I vaguely recall that the Saudis were using some versions of the V-100 cars during the Khafji battle.

i've seen some of the HELLER stuff. pretty much the only things i don't have in my warwheels stash. the AMX-10 RC is almost as mean looking as the CENTAURO.

Heller makes much of the basic French AFVs in 1/35. The VAB 4x4 and 6x6 armored cars, the AMX-30 MBT, SPAAG, SPG, the AMX-10 series vehicles....

IIRC, the Saudis & Qataris used primarily French AFVs in the war, the Syrians Soviet stuff, and the Egyptians used older US stuff. The Kuwatis had the remnants of their original British equipment, and later they had Yugoslav made versions of Soviet stuff.

And yes, I do hope that we see more of the lesser seen stuff as part of the GB.

Your right Stick. there were several F-14A squadrons in the Gulf. Only 2 squadrons used the A plus.

Ye, unfortunately Wikipedia isn't all that reliable. But as you say, its a good start and does cover the nations more likely to be built in the GB. But it would be nice to get some of the others as well.

Bish, that list is a good start. I saw that they left out the pan Arab forces for the most part. And some of the original Kuwaiti equipment such as the Chieftain MBTs, and Saladin armored car.

I'm not quite ready to commit as I have a couple more GBs I want to finish before signing up for more, but my brother has been asking me to build him an Abrams. If I can get myself caught up on my other GBs this would be a good chance to build it.
