Hobbymodels.com has the kits on clearance for $89 USD.  Honestly, that’s the cheapest I’ve ever seen them so I thought it was a good time to pick one up!

So I just sold about 170 Dragon armor kits and Cyber Hobby collectibles on eBay and used the proceeds to fix our pool filter and purchased a new freezer to replace our ailing Kenmore.  BUT, I also treated myself to these two items!

John: Cool Vette! I visited the Corvette museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky back in the spring and they didn't have a single model kit for sale in the gift shop. Sigh, no big deal but I'd like to have bought one there just to say I bought it at the Corvette musuem.

Couple of birthday scores - initial inspection on both kits shows zero flash and well molded.

Thanks,

John

Thanks Steve. Yeah, the Ha-Go is about the size of a bar of soap. I have two FineMolds kits but this one was at a really good price so I decided to pull the trigger on it.

The Valentine I believe is a new mold. No battery and motor mounting holes in the bottom in any case. It's worth the thirty dollar investment in raffle tickets right there- the rest was gravy!

The Maru is going to be kit-bashed a little for a diorama I hope to build sometime... whenever I get around to it.

Super happy with the Piaggio P.108, probably the only successful (though not by much) four-engine bomber fielded by the Axis. Only two Nakajima G-8s were build and the He-177 Grief was a deathtrap whose engines would randomly burst into flame during flight. I've seen it online for seventy plus US but the guy was thinning out his collection and sold his to me for twenty-five!!! Big Smile

Nice score Gam! The Ha Go is going to be a wee little thing. Is that Valentine a new mold or am I thinking about the Churchill? The Merk looks pretty good too.

And of course I can't end the post without giving a nod the the Maru.

Krap, I haven't been checking this recenty- nice additions guys and congrads on the new vehicle Tojo!

Anyway two weeks ago at our show I bought the following:

And the following I picked up in the raffle. Not bad for thirty bucks worth of tickets.

Not pictured is a 1/16th 1977 Pontiac Firebird I and a 1/72nd Revell Ju-87 I gave to my nephew who is recovering from breaking his nose after hitting himself in the face with a baseball bat. (don't ask me to explain I have no idea how he did it)

I would venture to say LT your wifes work truck is NOT an Arizona native, to much " natural weathering" for that climate. BTW remember a few posts back we discussed your "problem" looks like I was right.....you need help LOL.

Nice rig Tojo, thinking about gettung one of those for my new daily driver. Fords are my dream but Nissan is IMO great quality/ value.

Cool haul on the tugs, my stash needs a few of those.

LT, now that's something I need to find.

PFJN, nice score. You can convert one of the Mauretania kits into the Lusitaina with just a few modifications if I understand correctly.

Hi,

Although I know I need to cut back on hobby purchases right now, while searching eBay the other day I stumbled across a listed for a random lot of ship model parts (the seller actually listed it as a "model kit junkyard").  Since I recognized a couple kits in the photos and the price wasn't too much I went ahead and bid on it, and ended up winning it.

The package arrived today, and in it I found a Heller "ROC Amadour" fishing boat (still in its bag), a Lindberg Coast Guard Tug (also still in its bag), a Lindberg Coast Guard patrol boat (which may or may not be complete, since it was out of its bag), a Lindberg Amercan Presidents Line passenger ship (also out of its bag which may or may not be complete) and at least 6 Airfix Mauretania kits (which also may or may not be fully complete).

I'm very happy that the Tug and Fishing boat look to be complete, and even if the Patrol Boat and APL passenger ship are not fully complete both those hulls can make good starting points for scratchbuilding/kitbashing stuff like a power yacht/cabin cruiser (for the patrol boat) or a wide variety of cargo ships (for the APL ship) if I want to try something different with them.

And with all the parts in the box for the Mauretania kits I suspect that I will have enough parts for at least a couple complete builds, though I'm not fully sure what I will do with all 6 of the ulls yet Stick out tongue

Wonder when my wife will need to go shopping again ?

Oopps ! Guess I shouldn't have said anything.

My wife decided , NOW, is the time to get her a work truck. Soooo, $600 later we got this.

The engine and transmission are just fine, run's great.... just look's like roadkill.

I will be replacing the exaust system this weekend ... because there isn't one ! L O L

Also  need to replace the drivers side floor ( Swiss Cheese ) and the bed ( also Swiss Cheese.)

I'm sure a little "Turtle Wax " will bring that paint back .... right ... ? ? ?

So I had to go shopping with my wife today, just happened we were close to Hobby Lobby.

I had already picked them clean, so I really was not expecting to get much.

Lo - and - behold, More clerance stuff ! Where did all this stuff come from? It wasn't here last time.

So I got this,

They had two more, but I only broght so much cash with me.

I also got two Testors pack's of Acrylic paint ( 12 bottles total )

There were three more packs, but I wasn't greedy.

I also got two more water effects tint's, and two sanding stick's.

Wonder when my wife will need to go shopping again ?

L O L

The total retail for everything I bought would have been $128.83

The retail price of the kit all by itself was $29.99

For that price it had better came with Clint Eastwood and a bad mood.

No ..... I Dont Feel Lucky..... ( I "KNOW" theres at least One Bullit left in that "HAND CANNON" !)

LittleTimmy, I keep seeing the price tag of your Torino, they really wanted a 139.00 for the kit? For that price it had better came with Clint Eastwood and a bad mood. You did get a good deal on it.

So that is what the Airbus offring of the tanker they wanted to sell to the U.S. pretty cool. Gotta say glad we went with the 767 version. Only from a patriotic standpoint, no harmful intent intended.

Almost all the parts have been collected now for a RAAF KC-30A. Just waiting for Ronin Decals to release their new decal set and I'll be good to go. The resin pieces for the conversion are by Defence Models Australia.
