I went to our Hobby Town last night to pick up some paint, and of course I can't leave without something plastic.

Steve: You have done quite well here lately. Nice return on your trade. Obtaining a Tamiya 1/32 F-14 is a win by any standard. That M-48 is a dandy touch to boot. Well done.

GH: Ahh, yet another victim of the "resistance is futile" syndrome. No one goes to the LHS for just a jar of paint. LOL! Nice additions my friend.

GAF: That was indeed a thoughtful gesture by Steve. Steve is certainly a stellar friend and gentleman. Just an example of why prefer these forums to all the others.

I visited a friend of mine the other day and we traded kits. I gave him several 1/700 kits that I probably won't build and gave me his AFV Club M48H and a 1/32 Tamiya F-14 thats partially assembled (fuse only). I'm always getting half built kits from him which is cool cause their free. 

 

I swear half of those 1/32 Tamiya F-14's are out there half-built!! Got one myself from a good guy at the local club. He started the fuse and quit...you need wood clamps and extra styrene to hold the thing together haha

PFJ, four months to get that kit from time of order? I guess that it came on the proverbial slow boat from China. But it does look like a cool subject. 

Oh it was a fine trip to the mailbox yesterday! 

First up was this beastie, which the “Eb” seller offered at a much lower price than it was listed for. Shipping was more than the cost of the kit. I guess since the Tamiya and AFV Club editions of this kit came out, this version is not as popular. Score! 

Then this for one of the Academy Sheridans in my stash. I’ll be using the Operation Just Cause marking options. 

Nice grabs everyone as the aircraft and armor finds look great. Well, for me Christmas came a little early for me too, here are my latest arrivals. and if I'm lucky perhaps there might be more from Santa 

1) It's ProModeler so it can't be that bad, right? The only thing I noticed was the decals were all cracked and not useable. I'm sure I can find replacement ones (I hope). The interior fuselage details look quite nice. This is one without a flight crew but it does have four paratroopers, humm?



2) I have always wanted this one since it was issued,... got it now, and the details are outstanding. I'm going to build the camouflage versions called "Thor's Hammer" that was used during Vietnam. It seems that the only item missing is a pilot, but I will fix that. And the camouflage paint scheme with the burnt and faded heat treatment will be a neat challenge for me.



3) Last and certainly not least is my entry into the armor segment with detailed interior. The mold details look excellent on first look. Now I just hope it fits well. I'm not looking forward to the individual track links, but I figure if I can do small scale ship PE this should not be that bad and the improvement over the rubber one piece tracks is obvious. I've already ordered a five member crew for it from MasterBox.

Nice! I've always liked the F100. Such a cool looking jet! Love the Jagdpanther, always liked that one as well. I've also wanted a Tante Ju.

Drums: What big and beautiful additions you have. I'm loving that Jagdpanther. Those should be some epic builds.

I've had some rather sweet acquisitions trickle in lately. mainly new discoveries that have got me fairly excited.

To start off, thanks to the influences of one Mr. Modelcrazy I have really taken an interest in the Arma Hobby kits. Seriously, how have I been missing out on these. By chance, I scored their Fokker E.V for $15.00 on the FB deal or no deal page. Then I came across their Hurricane kit after checking their website. After checking reviews I knew I had to check one of these beauts out. Ordered off of ebay. These are beautifully molded kits and the expert editions come with masks and PE. To boot, they are molded on one single sprue with low parts count. Granted, I have yet to build one yet but, I will soon as the Fokker has me looking to set aside all other projects and jump right in.

The 1/72 AZ Model Kingfisher was again a kit that I was totally unaware of. This was offered up by the same chap that had the Arma Fokker E.V. So I offered $15.00 and got that in addition. It appears to be a very nice mold with good detail. Stoked about this one for sure.

My first Quinta Studio 3D decals arrived. Opted to check out a couple of their Corsair offerings to start. I believe I will be to liking these.

Picked this up with the idea of using it with one of my larger 1/72 luftwaffe aircraft. Thinking the Revell He 115.

Decided to try out the AK IJAAF color paint set for a couple of my kits. The Staggerwing was an auction score. It looked cool but, ends up it is an absolutely atrociously molded kit. Likely test mule kit.

And finally, after having done some reading in a book about the RN Fleet Arm, I became intrigued with the Fairey Firefly. Not a beauty to look at but it was apparently a rather effective aircraft. So, off to ebay and "Voila" it is now in me stash.

Hi, sadly, no it doesn't come with the digital camo decals, but I may take a look at getting the a PE template like Gamera mentioned in his post.

The site show the guy using it to cut masking tape for the masks though I think you could just spray though it.

Gamera, you could spray through it, but would have to mask it up for colors, and not get a soft edge.  How flexible is going to be for curved surfaces, some can be fairly tight radius.

Oh that's cool CN. Some many schemes you can do with the MiG-21!

GH, thanks! The tank is pretty anglular with not a lot of curved surfaces. I'll have to see when I pull the tank back out. Cutting tape would probably work better though.

CN: The Mig-21 and Jeep are some choice picks. That Jeep is as cool as can be.

Dodgy: Wonderful additions my friend. The Sea Fury is a sweet subject and kit. I do hope that acquiring these brought you peace of mind.

 I've bought some 3D wheels/tyres with chunky treads for an upcoming rally car build. They included the brake disks which I have already started painting.
