Great stuff guys but gee whiz Aggieman- you're on a roll!!!

Love the P-38s! And the Ki-43 is a neat little aircraft- lots and lots of aftermarket decals for it to do so many different schemes!

Yeah, I'm afraid I may be on bit too much of a roll. It's like I looked at the dent I made to my stash over the last 4-5 years and told myself to hold my beer while I fixed that issue.

I need a Tiger I for my Fury dio and I didn't want to have a knocked out tiger with my Tacom full interior kit, so I found this. It was 25% off and had a 20% off coupon as well and with points on my card I got it for $16. I know its a 1990 Academy kit with full interior, but the price was too good and the kit will be perfect for the dio.

JOE RIX

Sitting here chatting up the new Tamiya P-38J made me realize how long it had been since I had posted on her..at all!! I have certainly been distracted by life events but, man, it's been well over a month. I regret that I have not acknowledged all the mind blowing additions everyone has added. Took me a while to go back and take it all in. Wonderful, wonderful stuff everyone.

And, yes, I have picked up some real gems since my last update.

Starting with a couple new releases that I have been waiting patiently for. Of course the new P-38J:

But, this is one that arrived finally a couple of weeks ago. Been dying to get this and it looks amazing:

Recently I got to travel over to Grand Junction, Co. to drop off and pick up my wife at the airport and, as such, I took the opportunity to pay a long over due visit to the LHS. Good to see friendly faces after a long hiatus. Picked these up while I was there.

Forgot that I had ordered these from overseas back in Feb. Finally arrived a few weeks ago. Handy little sanding sticks.

And now a few kits I snagged via ebay or FB auctions:

Good to be all caught up. I hope evryone is well and I look forward to see what keeps rollinging in.

Cheers all, Joe

Joe, that is one heck of a haul. Very nice pieces there.

From the aforementioned mega collection my LHS just aquired. I knew the skyraider is a pretty rough kit, but the SBD and TBD are definitely decent.  The 190, p39 and spitfire look to be very good kits indeed...

I remember building that FW190 way back in the '80s. Hosed the sucker down with Dullcote so hard it slightly discoloured and made the paint run!

Here's a couple I've been wanting for a while.

Those are a couple of excellent kits you acquired Steve. The Academy SB2C is an exceptional addition and is one of Academy's better efforts in my opinion.

Thanks guys, I built the 72nd version of that Sufa in 2019. It just looks so cool that I just had to have it big brother.

Thanks Joe. I love the Helldiver (both of them) and really wanted the kit for some time.

Whoa! That is a stunning F-16 Steve. Beautiful work on the camo.

A few new additions arrived in the mail recently.

Ordered these direct from Arma Hobby. These are previous molds except they include 3D printed detail parts. A nice effort on Arma's part.

And some 1/35 and 1/48 armor.

Man you guys are getting some great scores!

Here I go again…. Last night at IPMS was our annual “swap meet” meeting. Folks clear out their stashes a bit. Anyways I found a couple of items for dirt cheap…

first up was the old Aurora Breguet 14B kit

the kit decals are wasted, but there some Peddinghaus decals available that cost several times what I paid for this kit…

and then I found these decal sets- national insignia for B-24s, which will help out for the B-24 in my stash, (a 2 sheet set for dirt cheap again) and a partial set for Corsairs (for free due to its partial condition!)

I particularly liked one Corsair on the sheet because one, it’s a Goodyear produced FG-1A, built right up the road here at the old Goodyear plant, and two, it’s from the battle of Pelilieu, so will be a great option for a WWII USMC ground support Corsair for one in my stash…

F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!

U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!

N is for NO SURVIVORS...

A box dropped this morning:

The Aliens Power Loader is by "The Goodsmile Company" and is 1/12 scale.  It is poseable, and so is Ripley.  The mushroom-thingy is yet another Maschinen Krieger (MaK) powered suit.  And Kevin is... well just because.  Also in are a couple of bases, a cutting mat adorned with a Zaku from the recent movie "Mobile Suit Gundam: Kukurusu Doan's Island", and some reading material.

Lokking at what you can get over there. I wish we had LHS stores here in the UK.

LHS no, 30 or 40 miles away perhaps or online nothing else, and the prices are high!

I hear you PatW, you boys over there in Jolly Olde have to deal with VAT and Parcel Farce's additional handling fees - almost like paying extortion money!

I couldn't agree more Steve. It's just sharp looking.

Stik: Nice bargain haul. The Corsair decals are the bonus score there. Nice you could find some with the local history.

Real G: You never cease to amaze with your unique finds. The power loader is choice.

My buying spree is just about over, with 1 more kit still to be delivered.

These beauties arrived today.

I've already built Tamiya's wonderful Corsair, the Bird Cage variant, but another poster here posted his outstanding build with a build log of this boxing that inspired me to get another one.  I may put this one in my build stash (as opposed to storage stash) early next year.

Saw this one come up on Scalemates recently, took a look at advance photos of the sprues and the instructions, and I was sold.  Despite having built the 4 Wildcats I had in my stash for years recently.  And I see Eduard has what appears to be a real good quality A6M2 that is of very recent vintage that I am giving serious consideration to.

Aggieman,

I believe the Eduard F4F-3 is the first true hard-winged Wilcat in 1/48.  Others have tried, but not with the hard-core Eduard dedication.  Early Wildcat fans rejoice!

It looks like they intend to cover as many variants as possible, from RN marks up through the FM-2s.

I thought there was a Hobby Boss release of the -3 as one without the folding wing feature. Never built it but did build the -4 variant from Hobby Boss. This kit measures up at least equally to both Hobby Boss and Tamiya's cats, at least based on my quick look at the sprues and instructions.

Aggieman,

I'm not sure Hobby Boss got all the early Wildcat little details right.  They usually have a "good enough" approach when doing variants.

Did not expect the last kit I had on order to arrive today, but it did.  There has been a definite Pacific War tilt to many of my recent purchases.

I built the original release of this kit back in 1998 as a torpedo bomber from the same squadron that ferried Yammamoto on his final flight.  This new boxing includes figures including the Admiral, and I will build this as his actual aircraft.  Which will go well with the original Tamiya P-38 that I will build as one of the aircraft that shot the Admiral down.

Just got this one shipped from Japan.  Its pricey, but I got a hell of a deal on it.  Gonna try my hand at a large-scale car model...something I'd never be able to buy the 1:1 version of without winning the lottery.

Also got some excellent AM parts (cockpit set and landing gear set) for the Revell 1/48 SR-71A from some guys in Ukraine that have been great to deal with...even with a war going on.  They sent me a pretty funny comic strip in the last shipment...wish I could share it here, but its kinda political.  Hilarious though.

Can you share the name of the Ukrainian business?

Stephan - I just got that Corsair a couple months ago.  Your Japanese bomber comes with 17 figures?!

Pat - the bronco/buggy combo are on my list.  If the bronco is from their new tool you're in for a treat.  Great kit.

Eagle - nice Porsche!

Thanks,

John

Oh wow great stuff guys!!!

Love Ripley and the power loader Real G. I assume that it's a totally new kit from Good Smile and not a reissue of the vintage Halcyon kit?

And awesome Sufa Steve!!!
