My first kit purchase of the year.

I missed this one when it was first released and thought it would be a ridiculous price to pay to acquire one after Kitty Hawk folded.  Apparently another manufacturer picked up the molds but retained the Kitty Hawk name.  Got it from Squadron for roughly $80.

I'm not planning too many kit purchases this year, but there will be some decals and supplies to get.

I was reading comparisons between the BF-109 and FW-190 (power, roll rate etc ) and ran into this book that looked interesting.  No pictures though   and only covers US fighters - Corsair, hellcat, wildcat, thunderbolt, mustang & lightning.

Thanks,

John

Really like the Kingfisher a lot. I saw another manufacturer sell a 1/32 catapault for it, now that would be a show stopper.

Another update as our stuff is finally arriving from various exotic ports of call (smile).

- 1/48 B-1B update pack to include various antenna along with decoy dispensers, etc.

Image

- - more 1/48 B-1B Eduard detail set (internal)

Image

- Something totally different in 1/16

- Another item to build and detail that will go along with the SAS Jeep and Kubelwagen.

- and a crew for the Sd.kfz.2

Only a few more items still inbound and we will be done.

Oh those are cool guys!

Love the Space Clipper Greysteele. I've been a big fan of 2001 for years but don't have that kit.

And those look really nice Ben. I assume the guy climbing the cliff is one of the rangers assualting Ponte Du Hoc on D-Day?

Nice! I had the Monogram 1/48 scale version when I was a kid, back when I built them using tube glue and hand painted it with Pactra paints. I believe I built it with beaching gear.

Tojo: Nice! I built the same kit years and years ago. Mine didn't come with the Magic tracks though so yours is a big improvement.

Chops: Oh WOW!!! I saw that on Sprue Brothers this morning. Actually reasonably priced there. Three kits for the price of two plus the Carius figure!

I wish someone would do a T-34 box. I'd be all over that! Maybe throw in a figure of Dmitriy Lavrinenko...

Nice gets everyone. I almost pulled the trigger on Andy's "Big Box" so it will be nice to see what you do with it.

I went to an IPMS model show last weekend. I tried to behave but just could not help myself with regards to some great prices on a few kits I always wanted but have been somewhat hard to find at a decent price (more than 50% off the aircraft, 70% off the Fire Truck, the the JoHan for $20.00). I looked at numerous armor kits but with the 1/16 stuff from Andy's on pre-order I held back.

I was going to stretch for the 1/32 but this one will do just fine.

I've heard both good and bad regarding the fit on this one, wanted it anyway.

This one was only $10, don't know anything about the kit but hard to say no.

I've looked for this one for a long time. Will build as either Mickey Thompson or Blue Max, depending on what decals I can find.

And more "stuff" for my upcoming 1/48 B-1B build..

All in all it was a wonderful weekend with the family, church, and modeling.

I've got the F-104 pit and thought I'd better grab this before they disappear again

Also got these for my MCAS Miramar KC-130J Harvest Hawk

John

I've bought a model kit for the first time in a while; the Moebius Batwing in 1/25 scale. Now I need a 1/25 scale Batfleck to pilot it.

My second purchase for the year is Hobby Boss's new B-24J Liberator.

I've read some negative reviews, but don't care.  I'm throwing this one right into my "build stash" for the year, and I believe I will build it alongside an original, still in the shrink wrap 1976 Monogram B-24J Liberator.  That will be ambitious and take up every square inch of available space on my workbench.

Thanks guys, yes the house move collapsed, the lady we were buying from couldn't decide and took her 2 bed bungalow off the market! That's twice now, the first bungalow was lost as our buyer was furloughed, lost his Mortgage offer, that was at the begining of COVID19!

Now this one. Had to pay solicitors/surveyors fees on both too! Nearly £2000 each! Another bungalow has come up at £100,000 dearer than our 4 bed detached house! Need to find a currency printer, you know real cash!

Yes the brand is Beemax-NuNu.

Sorry to hear that Pat.  In the states there are legal avenues for someone who backs out of a deal if you choose to go down that path.

Thanks,

John
