Nice Crown!  I've got their 747-8 in the stash - looks like a nice kit.  I did the Minicraft 757 - One of my favorite airliners

Thanks,

Never build a Sword and never heard of Brengun. Those should be intresting. I've always liked the 38(t)

Brengun are a Cezch company, same label as hauler. I first came across Brengun over 10 years ago when they just did ground equipment, wheel chocks, ladder sets etc. Their first 72nd plastic kit was in 2012, a Natter, and they have ben producing more since. I liked their dio accessories so i had no doubts about geting one of their Hawker Typhoon kits a few years back and the same with this one. Not built one yet but i hope to soon. This is their website.

Joe, that Mossie should be a real beauty once it's all finished!

Bish, I do like that 38t the most of your three scores. But the Braille Scale aircraft look nice too!

For me, over the past week or so, the mailman has brought a bunch of goodies for my 1/48 wingy thingies…

first up, some decals for that FJ-2 Fury I picked up last month. I like the VMF-235 markings

then I picked up a good deal on this Eduard PE set for the Revell Foxbat in my stash… there are actually four frets of PE in the package, and they fix many of the kits external shortfalls

Then I made a couple of Mig kit scores…

This one will need some help, but I’ve seen it built up nicely online, so it can be  done

and then this one…

Now I just need my building muse to return…

For a while i have been taking an interest in WW2 FAA aircraft, many of which are of US origin. Finally got around to buying one, and my first Sword kit. Looks wel detailed, certainly better than the Academy kit i built a few years ago.

Been wanting to get some SCW kits, so the Brengun Hs 126 was a must have.

And some 35th armour. Hobby Boss boxing of the tristar 38(t) with interior.

I hear that's a nice kit Joe. Of course almost anything Tamiya is a good kit.

Nice decals Neal. Those are going to look right sharp. I find the Pucara to be a cool looking aircraft and I look forward to seeing your build.

I just scored this on a FB auction for $28. Came with resin seats, mud flaps, tail wheel and 2 different nose options.

Keavdog,

I'm not a fan of the faded green/brown look either, but that's what they looked like during the Falklands War so I'm gonna go with it.  I had read that the Pucaras were originally in natural metal, but were hastily camouflaged when the balloon went up.  Also, the ailerons and elevators were supposedly left unpainted to retain their balance, and the "Fuerza Aerea Argentina" on the nose was painted around to leave them legible.  Some have commented that the Puacara is not very attractive, but I find it rather handsome.

Looking forward to your Pucara build.  I was just looking over my kit last night - trying to decide if I really want to paint it in that odd scheme.  Also trying to locate the Hataka paints.

Thanks,

John

Just in from Jolly Olde:

The Corsair decals are for the Memorial GB, the Pucara PE is for the Falklands GB.  Any pointers for Print Scale decals, quality-wise?

You're more than welcome to them.  I know they're more likely to be finished in your hands than mine.

I looked up reviews on the ICM Konigstiger.  It's good, but they listed it as a "beginners" kit because of the lack of interior and the rubber treads.  As for the Academy F-16 look for gaps in the wings.

I'll get them out just as soon as I find a box.

Just sayin.

Nice pick-ups Joe.

I mean, they're not tigers.

There is a Steve believe it or not. Neat looking plane of course Big Smile

Of course I'm serious!  If you say so...  Big Smile

I've not been so sure since my stroke last year, which left me a little less serious about things.  PM sent!  Big Smile  I'll get it in the mail this week.  A belated birthday present!

Actually, I've decided to get rid of the Academy F-16 also.  If anyone wants it or the Fujimi F-4N speak up!

BrandonK> Yep, I agree on the B-29.  The fact of the matter is he had 3 of them for that price!  However, I realized I would be lucky to finish the one I had and find ROOM for it.

Steve: Nice kit and props to you GH for your generosity!

SH: Nice!!! Love the M26 decals too!\

Gary: Great selection of kits and decals there too! Funny about their raffle system, our club has categories like aircraft, armour, auto etc. Of course this doesn't help you not to get a modern jet if you only want WW2 aircraft but it will help you not to get a Sherman or '57 Chevy if you enter aircraft only. Except the time Bob dumped the box out by accident and all our tickets got mixed up... Stick out tongue

Joe: Great kits there! And the dio book is cool, looking forward to seeing what you do with it!

Stik, nice score on the decals. Now I want to build my M1.

GAF, wow!! What a score. Even though I have the B-29, for $60 I would have two. Such a lucky find on all those.

GH, you are truly a great guy for that gift to Steve. NICE!!

Joe, that is a great haul. I really like that Fine Molds kit.

Joe that cover on the diorama book definitely grabs your attention. Have seen that one before. AK has some great work so let me know what you think of the content when you have time to go thru it.

In the pattern: Scale Shipyard's 1/48 Balao Class Sub! leaning out the list...NOT! Ha, added to it again - Viper MkVii, 1/32 THUD & F-15J plus a weekend madness build!

Goldhammer: You, my friend, have a grand and generous heart. Cheers to you and your health.

MC: What a wonderful addition GH has bestowed upon you. I know that you will do that Wildcat some justice.

Gamera: That is quite the ill tempered looking critter. That ought to be fun to build.

Stik: Very nice decal scores. Like the Pershing markings.

GAF: Nice pile of score. You've got to enjoy the little bonuses unexpectedly included.

I've added a few items myself.

I saw the Fine Molds A7M1 Reppu on ebay and it certainly caught my eye. Not only is it a unique subject it's also my first Fine Molds kit. Upon opening it I am very impressed with the molding and detail.

A nice auction score here:

I have yet to dip my toes into the diorama realm but, there will come a day. As such, I got this dandy of a book on e-bay. It's quite inpressive and comprehensive.

I got back from the local model show a couple of hours ago.  Nice turnout!  I went expecting nothing (my model needs are filled) and except for decals expected to buy nothing.  Boy, was I wrong!  I found (to my surprise) B-29 decals to replace my yellowed kit ones, and some British roundels for my Hurricane project.  But, to my surprise, there was a fellow who had a large selection and was letting them go at surprising prices (a Monogram 1/48 B-29 kit for $60?  Why did I already have one!)  I made all my purchases from him.  $40 dollars all told.  They were a Hasegawa A6M5C ($10 mostly for the decals), Monogram FW190 ($5 for parts) and a Hasegawa Val at $25 (I've wanted one).

And inside were a True Details A6M cockpit, and for the FW190 several sets of decal sheets.  I think I got my money's worth!

They also held a raffle with over 350 kits (a lot left over from last year).  However, they do it in a different way.  I don't know how common it is, but they assign a ticket to each kit and if you hold the ticket, that's the kit you receive.  This means that they get rid of most of the kits, but unless your lucky, it's less than satisfying.  For instance, I received 3 kits: An Academy 1/48 F-16A/C, an ICM Pz. Kpkw. VI Ausf. B Konigstiger, and a Fujima 1/72 F-4N.  Not something I would have picked myself.  I'm not an armor guy or a modern jet guy.

The F-16 I may turn into a NASA bird, but I don't know if I want to keep the others.  There are a few people on here who I know would like to have them, and I'm willing to let them go.  Anyway, that's it for today!

I pulled out my Tamiya M-41 I had in the stash, found some Firul tracks and looking for ARVN tankers. If you know of any links......

Goldhammer, duplicate or not, that still is a very kind and classy move. You could have easily sold the duplicate kit.

Chad, I primarily got the Pershing decals for the old Dragon M26A1 that I built about 25 years ago, before I used to gloss base and seal my armor decals in like on aircraft. The decals on that build have peeled and fallen off with age. But I do still have a Tamiya Pershing in my stash and have not yet decided on Army or USMC markings on that one. But definitely Korean War, so it is possible for another project.

Steve, I do beleive that Hobbyfan makes some ARGN figures to go with some of the AFV Club ARVN AFV kits. I'll have a look.
