Thanks stik, but have to admit it was a duplicate, and asked if he was interested in it.

Woh Gamera! That's quite a haul that you've acquired! That would keep me busy for years! I do like most of those ladies Stick out tongue

Real G, that Oni figure is the stuff of nightmares. It reminds me of something in a Manga that was filmed into a live action movie called "Bleach" that my son showed me when he was last home on leave. Very enjoyable film.

Goldhammer, that was mighty kind of you to give Steve such a gift. You're a good man Charlie Brown.

As for my latest.... during the past week or so several 1/35 armor decal sets that I’ve ordered came in…

For OIF1 M1A1s… I’ll be using the NATO camo 2/70 Armor markings

for 5th ID 4/12 Cav M113 & M551 in Vietnam

and lastly, for USMC M26 & M26A1 Pershing’s in Korea

More than welcome MC, it's the least I can do after the kindness you and your wife showed me on my restricted visit to Boise last month.

Intresting G. I love your eclectic since of modeling.

While my wife were returning from the Oregon coast on Wednesday, we stoped to say hi to Goldhamer. While we were talking he pulled this out and gave it to me.

Thank you Art!

John: (Chuckle) Now that's an idea! If you click on the race gals one of the boxes does show 'Hasegawa Racing Team'- I kinda like that!

G: Ohhhhh, I love that Oni! I think he's patting you on the head, 'Hehe, it's okay little guy, I won't smoosh you YET!'

Funny I had a couple courses on Japanese but I never put together Oni with Baba as 'Mean Old Lady'! And the story is about a grumpy older lady who won't let her daughter/niece (I forget, I need to watch it again) get married.

Gamera,

"Onibaba" (demon hag = mean old lady) - now THAT sounds scary!  Stick out tongue  I knew some of them!  Speaking of "Oni" (demon):

Either he is saying "You have to be at least THIS tall to wrestle me" or "That way to the loser's exit"!

Gotta love the fine print:

The second line says the lettering on his loincloth was painted.  What, no decal?  Nuts, out with the brushes then.

Thanks Woody, for lending a "hand".  Heh-heh, the demons are going to make me pay...

You're going to love that bike.  It's one of Tamiya's most recent releases.  And you'll have to do a F1 starting grid dio with those umbrella girls

Thanks,

John

Real G

Gamera,

Watch out for those Japanese horror movies!  American horror is like a semi truck trying to run you over in the day time.  Japanese horror is like ice water silently dripping down your neck in the dark.  Back in the 1970s we watched a Japanese TV horror series based on folk tales called "Kaidan".  It scared the bejeezus outta me!

Hmm, I have the 2007 movie version of 'Kaidan'. Pretty friggin' good movie. I'd be interested in how the 70's TV presented the tale.

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0844319/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_8

Plus a small selection of other Japanese horror, 'Ju-on', 'Onibaba', 'Kwaiden', 'Ringu', and few more. I really like most Asian horror films I've watched. Japanese, Korean, Chinese, maybe not so much Thai- they're just really, really, weird and I don't think I 'get' them.

PS: And the Japanese movie 'Housu' which I like though it leaves me scratching my head and wondering what I just watched. It's fun, just even weirder than most Thai movies...

Nice catch there Joe, that's a great kit of a beautiful aircraft.

Thanks guys! Actually the Hasegawa female figure kits are only about seven bucks US for two very nicely molded figures. So they're a pretty good deal. I don't think I've seen them anywhere other than Japanese dealers though.

And thanks for the birthday wishes. Went out today and treated myself to sushi and a big book of Irish ghost stories (I'm reading horror stories up to Halloween). Maybe next year I'll try some Irish food with Japanese ghost stories...

Happy B-day Gam. I'd like to get another motorcycle kit one day. I built a couple when I was younger and loved them.

Nice Grace Joe.

Gamera, I suppose it is only appropriate to give you reverence on your birthday by revealing my latest Japanese aircraft acquisition. Nice ebay score.

Happy Birthday Gams!!!

Now that there is the epitomy of spoiling one's self. That is one mighty haul. That Badger tank is a slick subject. That camo scheme is right up there with some complex ship dazzle schemes.

Okay my birthday was today and I'd been a good boy and didn't buy much this year so I kinda went a little berserk here. I thought I'd order a few things from HobbyLink Japan but just kept adding more and more stuff to it...

A FV-217 'Badger' tank destroyer from Amusing. Paper project British ultra heavy TD based on the chassis of a Conqueror heavy tank.

Instructions show a projected 'Berlin Brigade' paint job. Um nope not trying to paint all this, simple bronze green is fine by me... Dead

Got my first real bike kit, second one if you count the Tamiya 1/35th MP bike.

I wanted a figure of the same scale (1/12th). There is a male bike rider but I wasn't crazy about it so I went for this one. Should be interesting to paint. Looks like Hasegawa is now coming out with a female biker. Would rather have it so might pick that one up as well.

And I bought two more auto kits. Guess I should lay off on them till I get one build.

A bunch of figures to go with the car kits (1/24th scale).

And Hasegawa 1/24th auto scale figure kits, didn't even know they made these.

And a set of 1/48th IJN pilots.

Those are awesome guys!

Falcon John: Love Italian WW2 fighters, esp the Folgore and the Velto. Beautiful planes and the Italian camo schemes are interesting and different. I really need to build one soonish.

SP: Love the Sturmovik, after looking over Hoss WA beautiful Tamiya kit I'm jonesing to build one of those too!

Keyserj John: Very cool too! Nice change of pace from the usual Tigers and Shermans.

Awesome  stuff there fellas. It's on my bucket list to attend one of the big shows in the States and the UK, and given that there is so much more available on the vendors tables in your countries, I'm going to need to purchase a 40' shipping container to get everything I want back home!! Yeah so I'll have to mortgage the house and sell a couple of grandchildren off  for medical experiments, but hey, it's all about modeling!

Hutch, I have Li'l Coffin in its original box along with 1964 Monogram catalogue showcasing its release.

Armournut I'm going to want to see pics of that big 1/16 beastie.

Nice score with the Veltro FM! Yes

Hooray for the USPS and EBay! Over the weekend, this nice set of white metal 1/48 M-60D machine guns by Cutting Edge arrived

and then yesterday this beautiful Zvezda 1/48 Il-2 arrived. It’s a replacement for a kit destroyed by my daughter’s cat a few years back. I was looking to get another Accurate Miniatures kit, but after seeing this kit online and looking at reviews… well Zvezda won. And after looking at this kit once it arrived, WOW!

Just picked this up yesterday at my LHS.   Now I don't have to look so hard for the elusive 1/48 hasegawa version.

Just OOB. I'm going to try something diffrent then my usual for the deck.

I'll be painting it in Operation Rheinubung colors to match the Bismarck I'll get to hopefully sooner that later.

I'm in 2 minds about that AM set. If it had a rifeled barrel, i would grab one, but for the effort of cleaning up the barrel seam and painting the decks, i'm not sure iots worth it. Can't wait to see yours and get some ideas.

If the barrels are like the Yamato turret then they're not difficult to clean up. There are very little deck space so I think I can do better than the Yam.

Thats sounds good. I have seen an online build and he saiys because of the size of the barrels its easy to clean the seam.

I am a Norfolk man and i glory in being so

Takom will more than likely make an Iowa turret first. Although the Yamato's secondary was out of the blue Huh?

That Bismark turret is on my wish list also.

If they do get around to doing a Scharnhorst turret it would be awesome if they did the "Y" turret with the catapult. I have an Arado 196 in my stash that would go well with that.
