Its based on a Pz I. It was a stop gap by taking off the turret and just sticking the gun, carrage and all, on the hull. Less than 40 were converted.

I have found they are gurning up earlier than stated, this was meant to be here by the end of this month. So it would be no surprise if yours turns up in the next 2 weeks.

stuff from China is taking longer than normal

That SP is a new one on me - what chassis is it based on?

I recently ordered Bronco's A34 Comet from China, it's supposed to arrive in the 1st week in August.  Perhaps not, then - still, I've plenty else to be getting on with.  Meanwhile, to help support newly re-opened shops I picked up Airfix's 1/72 Jet Provost T3 & P51D Mustang locally, and my Airfix Club membership with Nakajima B5N2 Kate arrived yesterday (special edition, it has 2 extra sets of markings).

Vell, Zaphod's just zis guy, you know?

Finally, the other kit i ordered at the same time as the Centurion, back at the end of May, has arrived. The stuff from China is taking longer than normal. Been wanting this one for ages.

And ashide from some new tracks, i won't be getting any other AM for this one.

I have had the Soar Art 1/35 Dora Railway Gun in my posession but at that time of my life was unable to actually build it as it seemed to be some kind of different plastic to the normal styrene and I was not really doing well with the old brain.

I did actually dump it earlier this year during a declutter as I had been messing about with it with no actual real plan and now wish I had just left it alone in the box until I was sure of what I was going to do with it.

I may replace it in the future, but I am interested in their other offering but need to do some saving and lots of reading about the kit(s). They are quite large!

Wanted a change of pace from the usual armor and picked up this Yak-1.

This plane was flown by Lydia Litvyak who was the first of two female fighter aces with twelve kills and and either another two to four shared kills.

Snapdragonxxx,

That’s a LOT of big kits!  Did you get the 1/35 Soar Art Dora railway gun?  A friend has one and said it was too big/heavy to cram into his car when he picked it up from our (former) LHS.

Steve: Awesome! And you know there's a place for your giant Zero in the GB!

James: WHOA!!! Love those Zeros too! And that cool Panzer I and E-75! That Conqueror Mk I has the better looking box art but I picked up the Mk II since I've read the Mk I was only produced in very small numbers before the improved Mk II came out. In any case congrads!!!

That's some shopping list - hope you've got room in your car for that lot if it all turns up at onceSmile!  I was tempted by the Conqueror mk I at my (not-so-local) LHS the other day, but resisted the temptation.  I settled for Tamiya's Matilda instead (not the Red Army version).

MC- I have that butcher bird in the pile.  Detail looks excellent for the price point.  The Beemer under the hood is almost a kit in itself.  I couldn't pass it up either.

GH, that Fletcher is a good one I've heard. I've built the 251 several times in my life.

Well other than a truck load of detail sets and other AM I've been receiving over the weeks, this is what I picked up tonight at the local.

I don't know why because I don't have the room, but I liked the price.

And I can never have enough Zeros, so for the Akagi....

One set of marking is for the Akagi, the other.....my favorite Japanese Ace, Saburo Sakai's mount after he moved out of his Claude (on the box). Which do I do??? I guess I could get another kit

I know what I'm doing for next years Japanese GB.

Only picked up two so far this year.  Both Tamiya's, their 1/350 Fletcher and the 251 half track.

Bish,

I like how you kept both sides of your modeling brain in balance.

Now does that mean i have to buy a couple of more aircraft seeing as i have 2 more armour kits on route.Big Smile

Maybe a couple of car kits.  Be interesting to see you do a car, non military with a shiny paint job.

Now that just wouldn't be normal Big Smile

Lewbud: You do have a point. Guess I'll have to learn to do gloss finishes some day... (sigh)

SP: Cool, love Vallejo paint, still haven't tried Humbrol yet though.

Today I took a trip across town to Tempe to check out a different hobby shop, Hobby Depot. I primarily went there to see what paint lines that he carried, and also to see what else was in stock. First off, I saw a nice old school, good sized, multi subject hobby store. In addition to scale models, he also had a good stock of model railroad, rockets, slot cars, tools, multi use supplies such as wood, styrene, metal rod and tubing, etc. And paints. A nice big two sided aisle of paints. Vallejo, Testors, Tamiya, Gunze, Tru Color, Mission Models, and my personal favorite, Humbrol enamels!!!! As well as a nice wall of PE and resin supplies. In short, a nice all aspect brick & mortar proper hobby shop!

Well after driving almost 30 miles to check the place out, I sure wasn’t gonna leave empty handed so...

Some Humbrol paints that I was running low on...

a couple of Vallejo paints that I can surely use...

And a new set of sable brushes and a new smaller pin vise...

So if you’re in the Phoenix area, I would highly recommend a visit here. Unlike Andy’s, the owner/operator here is very engaging with customers.

Gamera,

Rally cars are shiny at the beginning of the race.  Weathering is something car modelers have yet to embrace on a wide scale.

Nick,

Nice haul with the F-16 and decals.  Looks like you may need a few more kits looking at those decals.

Bish,

I like how you kept both sides of your modeling brain in balance.

Pat,

Look forward to the MB GT3.

John,

I can't imagine trying to place 1/800 figures, and I build 1/700!  The Stryker looks nice.  To guage interest on a group build, just go over to the Group Builds area and ask, pretty sure there will be some interest.

Got some goodies in the mail today! First up is Eduard models 1/800 scale navy figures for my USS Kitty Hawk build.

Also got my next build with a gift card I needed to use. This is going to be a monster build but can't wait to start.

I have been kicking around the idea of hosting an Iraq War GB if anyone would be interested.

Two more new additions this week. The first is from a small UK company called Scorpion Miniature. They mainly detail in al things Scorpion and Scimitar related, though they have start branching out. As well as the AFV club kits, they also sell there own AM sets and AM sets from Hong Kong Creation Workshop as well as others. Having already got some of their Scimitar sets to build a vehicle from the Falklands war, this time i bought the Scorpion direct from them and some AM sets and decals to do a vehicle based in Hong Kong in the 70's.

And the second one i picked up today in the LHS. It re-opened on the 15th and this is the first time i have been in since early March. I needed some airbrush cleaner and decided to give my support my picking up a kit as well.

And thats the story i am sticking with.

3 British subject in less than a month. Somthing has come over me.

Lewbud: Ohhhhhhhh, love those rally cars. Now that might be the sorta car I can get right, matte finish and covered in mud!

Nick: Sharp! I think you'll love that F-16. And cool looking decals.

Gamera,

Nice scores with the P-38 and Nick!  You'll have to post a video of the dog and centipede if possible.

Just got a box in from HLJ.  A year or so ago, I got on a Group B rally car kick and thought it would make a cool collection so I've slowly been accumulating some of the major participants.  Today I got in the following:

I also got a couple of decal sets for the C7R from Scale Motorsports.

The decals on the left are for the C7R presentation in bare carbon fiber.  The decals on the right are for the C7R test mule.

It would be great if you put in red LED eyes and have it say "Exterminate!  Exterminate!" as it goes after the dog.  Surprise

Well, this I ordered for Christmas and HLJ finally got it in stock and shipped it.

Didn't need it, don't know when I'll get to building it but after seeing James/Snapdragon's build I couldn't help myself... Devil

Just the box is friggin' huge- it's about a half metre / 21 inches wide and about 15cm / 6 inches deep!

And I ordered this too. Hopefully I'll have some fun chasing my sister's wussy dog around with it...

Joe, that Modified Gremlin makes a horrid looking car look almost decent... Lol!

I know, right?. That's what attracted me to it.
