Hmmm.
I don't think I would want to be in one if those were hit in battle!
These are the three most recent builds finished . . .
Airfix P-51D Checkertail:
.
Tamiya F-51D Korea, 1951:
Academy P-47D Thunderbolt:
OK. In the stash: Way too much to build in one lifetime...
Three beauties Frank. I love the checkers.
Thanks,
John
Tanker-Builder Hmmm. I don't think I would want to be in one if those were hit in battle!
TB, the external drums of diesel are the least of the crew's worry on the Soviet designed 125mm gun tanks. The auto loader ammo carousel under the turret floor is way more dangerous to the crew's survival...
Frank, those are three beauties that you've completed recently! Very nicely done!
F is for FIRE, That burns down the whole town!
U is for URANIUM... BOMBS!
N is for NO SURVIVORS...

On the Bench: Too Much
crown r n7 . Nice builds. Interesting scheme on the F4U!
Thanks, everyone.
Tamiya F4U-1A
A vanilla OOB build for sure, but I was "helping" a ten year old with his first kit and wanted him to have a good experience with it.
ICM P-51A
In terms of part figment and quality it was the exact opposite of the Tamiya Corsair in every way imaginable...LOL
Atlantis/Monogram 1/12 Wright Cyclone Engine
A really old, really fun kit for a nice change of pace
Great stuff FF. I really like the Wright Cyclone. I have the 1/8 Williams Bros Wasp in the stash.
FF, those are three beauties there! So who did the majority of the work on the F4U, the ten year old, or yourself?
Im also really loving that Wright Cyclone engine. That looks great!
Thanks y'all!
keavdog I have seen the kit you're talking about on eBay. I hope you post some pics when you get it going. I love those kind of models. I'm kinda surprised no one has released a series of aircraft engines all in the same scale. I would imagine it could provide some cool display options with an engine/aircraft combo.
stikpusher, I can see that you have experience helping young modelers get started in this hobby...
I thought models with bad part fit tested my patience, but the attention span of a ten year old is something you have to see to believe
Lol! Yes, I had each of my kids building models at one point or another in their childhoods. Only my son has really stuck with it, and he's more into the Gundam and Anime/Video Game types than anything else nowadays. I know that my attention span at age 10 was sure different than theirs is at the same age. I blame that on Shepard Paine and those pamphlets of his in the Monogram kits of that era.
Those are three very sharp looking AFV builds GS! Bravo!
Great looking armor pieces GS
Aha!Greysnake!
That is some good looking Armor! Kinda clean, But even so I want to see how you deal with the Commander figurines.
Okay! Fearlessfarless!
A very nice selection of models there!
My last tree
Wasp flamethrower
Bf-109
Bird dog
Great stuff! That is one bright little bird dog. I remeber the wasp - thinking how increadibly vunerable the crew would be.
Three sharp looking builds Castel! That Bird Dog sure is bright! I do love the camo pattern on your Emil.
Thanks guys. That Wasp is like a Molotov coctail on wheels
Nice builds. Did you free-hand the camo on the 109 or did you mask? Either way, beautiful work. I have a 190 in the stash that I'm thinking on doing in a desert camo.
On the bench: Revell-USS Arizona; Airfix P-51D in 1/72
It was free hand. Dip the flat end of a shish kabob stick into the paint, dab away on the model. Cover with black chalk mixed with water and a bit of a dish soap, let it dry and wipe of as much as you want with damp cloth.
Love coming back here to look at all the amazing work everyone does.
My favorite thread to visit. Always come away feeling inspired!
On the Bench:
Bandai 1/72 Defender Destroid
crown r n7 All beautiful builds quite a sellection. Here are my last three. Hasegawa F4U-1D in 1/48.
All beautiful builds quite a sellection.
Here are my last three.
Hasegawa F4U-1D in 1/48.
Crown/Nick I swore up and down your Corsair was in FSM reader gallery this issue (sept/october 2022 - pg 35) but it says its the Tamiya kit by a Antonio Thuemler. Identical camo, base, blue lenses
My last 3: 1/48 Pro modeler F-86D, Trumpeter 1/32 P-40N, Moebius '70 Ford F-100 4x4.
Very nice builds! And great variety.

Nick.
Last three...
Tamiya He-162 Salamander in 1/48
Canadian Grizzly in 1/35
