John,

Several teams participated (our club, IPMS-BA, fielded 7 players at the time) in the night game, and the division went along team lines (certain teams going to one team, and so on) with lonewolves (those without teams) taking up the slack. The players on each side were made to put on yellow or red arm bands that would have (it was hoped) distinguished one side from the other. In the end, radio communications became essential in pinpointing the location of one friendly force to another, and thus prevent friendly encounters.

There was an over-all commander on each side, chosen from among the players, and he coordinated troop movements. At the platoon level, the team that made up the dominant force in terms of numbers would usually call the shots. Big Smile [:D]

Dwight,

Great work on the Panther! Your skills are improving by the day. Smile [:)]

Hey Happy New Year guys.

OK I am back on the workbench and did a Nightfighting Panther with a different camo.

Although I thought I could complete this before the year ended, I found myself too lazy to do so and it was only last night that I started with the tracks.

Since this is one of the Dragon's fantasy tanks, I took the liberty of doing it in a camo different from what the box suggested.

Basically this is still OOB just with the addition of some fine cloth from the wife's sewing kit (was that some pantyhose or something?LOL ) for the engine grille filters.

I'll do the tracks for the other side tonight then weather the tracks some more. Then I'll start with the diorama base.

unfortunatly like you said, the forum over there is under maintnence and I cant get in.

An abandoned them park!!! How Sweet that would be!!! The place closest to me (still far away) has a whole bunch of old trailer homes. Gives the whole thing some urban combat feel to the game. The rest is forests, tall grass and weeds.
My friends and I will definetly have to travel to one of these places.

how do you know whos on you team? And how do you have a chain of command?

oh, and the link didn't work.

That was one of the largest gathering of airsoft gamers Ive attended so far. Usually, players number about 40-60. We played in Nayong Pilipino, an abandoned theme park whose trees and grass have grown to jungle proportions. Even with 240 players roaming around, there was still plenty of space to move around. So contacts arent made on the get go.

I use two 300-rd hi-caps too, but I figure Id spent no more than 3000 rounds the whole night. Our company was divided into 3 platoons. Ours was sent to recon the right flank. We spent about 45 minutes moving around and setting up perimeter before we ran into an enemy force. The firefight was fierce for the first 10 minutes or so, and then the opposing sides hunkered down, trying to figure out how to outflank each other. But NVGs on each side guaranteed a fusilade of BBs whenever movement was made. But man, oh man, that was really fun!

Sorry about the link. I dont know why it didnt work out. But you might want to try the message forum in our club's website: http://www.ipmsphilippines.com one of these days (its currently in maintenance mode to adjust to traffic).

You will find a forum entitled "Armed Forces of BAC." Weve posted some pics there of our team, along with some in-action shots on regular daygames. Big Smile [:D]

do you guys have any special scenarios over there? I think I read something about a place around here that placed a dummy in the woods and one team had to rescue the "downed pilot" the other team had to stop them from doing so. Sounded pretty sweet.

The usual games include different scenarios, from skirmishes to taking the flag to defending ground. Protecting VIPs is a scenario played every now and then. And then there are night games or bivvies, where the only objective is to overwhelm or overrun the opposing camp. The last bivvy we played in involved more than 240 players, divided down the line to 2 opposing companies of 120 men each. The game lasted all night and into the morning. We would go out on patrols and run into opposing forces and fierce firefights would ensue.

In Bacolod City, there was an event that involved extracting personnel (ala Tears of the Sun), diffusing bombs, boarding vessels, storming buildings, and even physical training like hauling logs, obstacle courses, and the like. The game took place in a 300 hectare reclaimed forest area. I heard (but could not verify this) that a team of US Special Forces troops participated in the event.

We really wanted to join but that would have meant a plane ride which in turn could have subjected our AEGs to outright confiscation at the airport due to heightened alert levels. Check out http://www.filairsoft.com. Im sure youll find some of the discussions interesting. Smile [:)]

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!!!!

rebelreenactor,

We love airsoft too! Quite a number of our clubmembers are also into the "second hobby." Big Smile [:D] Glad to run into someone who loves the game too. How are the games over there? There are a limited number of gamesites here but the games are fast and furious. And thanks to upgrades BB velocity reaches upwards of about 500fps. If you ever plan to come over please do drop me a line. We'll take you out on a game. Smile [:)]

I LOVE airsoft. I too love my Tokyo Muari M4 RIS Carbine, it serves me well. Big Smile [:D]

You can also try www.shortyusa.com
All my stuff cost about $700 american, took me awhile to save it all up. But that included 2 hi caps, 2 batteries, a 2o minute charger and BB's.

Dwight,

I very very rarely make dios. And theyre mostly crude. But believe me, I know a good dioramist when I see one. Im really impressed with your lay-out. Small and simple, but it really projects the subject. The balance is A-1. Ive been thinking of making a dio of me and other IPMS-BA airsoft gamers at play, but dont know how to begin. Smile [:)]

Shrikes,

Two months? Well, Fiona was present during the last two meetings wasnt she? Id say you were busy alright. Big Smile [:D]

That pic reminds me of the game we played a month ago. You see, there was this dude in WW2 Ranger outfit with a Tommy and a steel helmet and .... okay I made you drool. Ill stop right here. Big Smile [:D]

No worries about where to source the weapon, my friend. Itll be there when you want it. For the bandoleers you might have better luck with the suppliers on line. But for the accessories we know just the place. And we'll take you there. Wink [;)]

If you think its fun, wait till the horn blows and your blood vessels start pumping on the first game. You might be so tired your muscles are crying for you to sit down but stopping is the last thing on your brain. Smile [:)]

Allan: Thanks. I don't think I am good enough to give pointers but if you have some questions for me...I would be glad to try to answer them for you.

Shrikes: The Wespe is a self-propelled 10.5cm howitzer mounted on a Panzer 2 chassis. The Hornisse/Nashorn is a pure anti-tank destroyer mounting the 8.8 cm anti-tank gun. It is based on the Panzer 3 & 4 chassis. Thanks.

Hey guys! According to the records, It's been exactly 2 months since I last posted here, and i think it's time to get back into the swing of things. (I've been really busy trying to get work)

Dwight: My GOD. You never fail to amaze me, my friend! That Hornisse looks fantastic! (If i may ask, what's the difference between that and the Wespe?) The dio base really adds to the presetation. good woek, my friend!

Allan: I really need that job since i've been dreaming about this lately:

hehehe! Hmmm... when i do get the cash for it, where do you guys order your stuff? Because i think i'd like to buy another Hi-cap magazene for it, the strap and Ammo pouch/Bandoleer (I've been thinking about getting a real one i saw on E bay. hehehe!). Oh, and what about the charger! Tongue [:P] Man, this is getting to be kinda expensive... but man, it does sounds like it's a LOT of fun. =>

Dwight,

Im really impressed by the work youve done on you Hornisse. You gotta give me some pointers on dio building. Great job! Thumbs Up [tup]Thumbs Up [tup]

Beth,

The internal contest went great! Im surprised by the improvement in the works of the newer members. Syempre, Im impressed by the works of the oldhands like Junior and Bigman. Cool [8D]

Junior,

Fantastic job on the Bismark! Thats how a Bis should be made. Post ka naman ng pics. Your models brings back memories of my early 80s Matchbox Bismark disaster. Big Smile [:D]

Meekai,

What do you mean "little cozy nook"? Angry [:(!]Big Smile [:D] Braille boys were just testing the waters. And we had to send off a considerable portion of the collection to the internal contest. Intayin mo ang Braille Bash 05. Big Smile [:D]Wink [;)]

emjaetee,

Thanks. I hope you won't be intimidated by armor or dioramas. Armor is actually very forgiving as you can always hide a few mistakes here and there using stowage, net, tarps or figures.

Again, thanks.
