Hi Sigman and all,

Newbie to the forum! I'm from Q.C. and have been building plastic models since I was a kid. I'm into 1/72 (Braille) scale armour, sci-fi (Star Wars and Aliens) and just getting into 1/72 aircraft. My armour collection is mainly modern tanks and AFV's. Recently, I have decided to start building Philippine Army armour and PAF aircraft. "Mahalin and sariling atin" as they say. With the help of my comrades at IPMS-P-BAC, I have gotten good reference materials to start my AFP model building. They were such an inspiration in starting my AFP collection.

At the moment, my in-progress projects are: PA Scorpion, PAF NA-Texan and F-8H Crusader, M1 Abrams, and a Jedi Star Fighter.

As with Buck, I would like to extend an invitation to all Phil. modelers to the 2nd IPMS Philippines-Bert Anido Nationals on October 11-17, 2004 here in Manila. For updates please go to http://www.ipmsphilippines.com/.

Keep on building,
Bistro

The hobby shop in Ayala Cebu is like the sister co. of the hobby shop in quad, makati but a lot less of choices when it come to the brand of model kits. Where do you usually shop and what airbrush are you using?

Wow! 1.3km grill? That mustve been something. I cant believe I missed that. Unfortunately I wasnt scheduled to go to Cebu that month. The Libis is good, but its still new and I fear they wont have the amount of fresh seafood you would normally find in Paranaque.

Hows the hobby shop in Ayala Center? They got good stuff there too.

Will check them out since I keep on hearing about Libis. Will also inquire about the prices of the seafood since the last time i'm there, some1 pay for the meals.
BTW, did you attend the world's longest grill here in Cebu last January which is recorded by the guiness book of world records of 1.3km?

Hey! A new place to go to. Ill see if I can pay that place a visit next time Im there. Might be there on the 17th of May for some business. Im sure the food is great (I stuff myself with seafood everytime Im there), but a floating restaurant sounds pricey. Are the prices reasonable?

We have a place here similar to Sutukil. Its Dampa in Sucat Road, Paranaque. Theres also one that just opened in Libis. You should check them out too when you go here.

Allan, I have a lot of friends in manila and they enjoyed very much when i treat them at sutukil in mactan shrine. But there is new place, it takes about 15 minutes pumpboat ride ffrom mactan to olango island where there is a floatin restaurant with LIVE seafoods!
BTW, if I'm in manila on the 2nd IPMS Philippines, will drop by.

Ben, thnx for the info, and more power to your club!

Sigman: Yeah, Special Toys in Virra Mall is still there (the sales people must be really annoyed by me)... They do have a respectable line up of kits some unusual too! Also quite a few gems, depending on what you're looking for... Example: an Accurate Minatures A-20 Havoc (SWEET!!!)

Iwata airbrushes? I've heard that the Gunze Mr. Hobby Airbrushes that you find in Special Toys Virra Mall are Iwata reboxes... I dunno if this is true...

Hi Ben,

No I am not a member of any club yet. I have been into models for only about more than a year now and have done only a few models. I consider myself a beginner in the hobby with still so much to learn. Some IPMS members have already invited me to join their respective clubs but I have not really decided yet. I am still giving it a thought.

I have already visited the IPMS Manila site and it's great.

Thanks.

Ben, my e-mail address is sigman@skyinet.net and we dont have a club in Cebu. In fact I only met a couple of modelers. The only hobby shop that sells plastic models is the Stars & Stripes which is the dealer of Tamiya. Sad to say that Tamiya Philippine Manufacturing Plant is based in our MEPZ and we dont have a club here. BTW, I am into WWII armor and A/C. Hi also to Noel and Dwight.
