Meekai,
I havent been to Roxas and Iloilo. Was supposed to go to Iloilo last March but something came up. Been to Bacolod, though, and theres a place there --- Amboy's I think --- that serves spanking good seafood.Dinner [dinner]

Lipton,
Text me if youre going to bring stuff. Ill bring my camera so we could take shots of your wonderful works. Lets start with the Bradley and maybe some progress pics of the Enigma. Smile [:)]

CBrain,
Next meet is the 16th. Im craving for some fishballs myself. Big Smile [:D]

Shrikes,
Yes, the topic always degenerates to food doesnt it? LOL. Maybe its because we have some of the best food right here in the country. Hows the Sabre coming along?Smile [:)]

Hey! emjaetee! I know this is off-topic but... I'm heading for Iloilo next week and I'll be there for about a week. Any places you can recommend with great eats??? Big Smile [:D]

... and welcome all the Filipino guys who entered this thread. I'm so glad our hobby is growing. I saw the exhibit of BAC a few weeks ago at the NAIA and I think it's great. Keep it up guys!

For those who posted here without affiliations in clubs, my two-cents worth is - it's really all up to you. Honestly, having affiliations is a really big plus (that's speaking from experience). A lot of the other guys will attest to this but let's face it, "Different strokes for different folk", di ba? I respect that. All the clubs you'll find scattered around the Philippines are great clubs (I've known a couple) and they've got great poeple behind them. Sometimes you hear stuff about one club or another but that's just people blowing off steam... By far, the proliferation of clubs are - in my opinion doing the modeling hobby in the Philippines a lot of good. Modelers are coming out of the woodwork and making themselves known.

I really love this hobby...

if you are staying in the city, try dining at breakthrough, nes and tat's, ocean city and tatoy's, for great seafood.... drop by juan's and sarabia manor... with the latter if you are in for some ballroom fun and they have nice bars there, too....

if you are going outside the city, visit racsos in guimbal and alubihod, in guimaras. if you would want to go island hopping remember to visit pula pasayan, taklong and nagarao.

next time you go there, make it during dinagyang season... that's in january.

enjoy your stay!

Hey shrikes, where in QC are you ?
I'm from Cubao, I'm into WWII Bombers too but I include modern and sci-fi. Mostly I'm into 1/72nd scale German aircraft, I also build German armor in 1/35 and German ships in any scale but much prefer 1/350 scale. I'm a new member of IPMS-Manila.

I'm from the Katipunan Area. It's great to finally meet someone else who loves bombers! As was said in "Flight of the Intruder": "Fighter pilots make movies, bomber pilots make history!" I focus more on Allied A/C, though. I'm too chicken to start on a splinter camo! Tongue [:P] Maybe one day when i get an airbrush, I'll do an He-111! or maybe a Fw-200! Gotta love those multi-engined A/C!

The Sabre is just sitting here... I'm waiting for more of the decals from Tony. I'm kinda hoping that It'll arrive soon, so i can seal the decals with some clear spray!

You know, I've been to Cebu several times and you're right. It's ironic that a place like that where a major manufacturing plant of a major model maker has a single hobby shop... Funny, huh? I'm confident that the clubs will come together... We're a shy group of hobbyists and I guess all we need is time. We can't rush things like this. Hi! Reggie! Nice to hear from you. How's the weather out there? It's sweltering in Manila!!! The heat is hot enough to bend my riggings! (Honest! My Bismark was left by my maid on the table where the sun was shining - it was about lunch time) The riggings bent! Wow!

Glad to see you back to the hobby. I was like you also. I started when I was 15. I stopped due to my studies and my work and I guess just got my priorities mixed up... Big Smile [:D]

Anyway, I met Noel Carpio - the IPMS-Manila Chapter Contact at work (we worked together in the same company a while back). He was the one who got me into BAC. They are a great group of guys! Just remember that the most important thing is to make models - everything else is secondary... Big Smile [:D]

Thanks Big Smile [:D] Hopefully nothing comes up to prevent me from joining the lesson. Hmn.... only problem now is knowing where the archi building is. Is it just nearby the fine-arts building in UP?

I hope so too... I think it's the building near the School of Law and on the Right side of the famous Sunken Gardens... Big Smile [:D]

I'm not from UP so I always get lost... If you want, Noel and the guys normally meet outside and convoy towards the meeting place. I'll keep you posted.
