Hey, Lipton!
I think it was the Revell Kit. I haven't built it myself, but by the looks of the box, it's got the same sort of tooling as the Revell 1:48 B-17G, so i wouldn't be too worried. Big Smile [:D]

Here's a short list Dhel;

In order of priority:

1. Finish my F86 Sabre
1. Finish the F4F 'Wildcat' for the group project
1. Contribute build time on other aspects of the group project (ship, plane)
2. Resume building the 'Shilka' for my Desert Storm diorama
3. Resume building the T-55 to be converted to a T-55 'Enigma' Iraqi version
4. Update the 'Humvee' TOW carrier for inclusion on no. 2
5. Build a kit-bash between M113ACAV and M163A2 Vulcan SPAAG for
the nationals
6. Build a P-38 Lightning or a P-47 Thunderbolt or a F4U-1D Corsair
(can't make up my mind yet, any suggestion?) for the nationals
7. Redo my Tiger I (my first armor) for the December internal contest
8. Build a Krupp Protze, again for the December internal contest

There! My cards laid out. Cool [8D] If the 'evil' (ask emjaetee, she knows what I'm talking about Big Smile [:D] ) doesn't get in the way, this should flow smoothly and flawlessly, and by year end, all should be done. Wink [;)]

Its a veeeeeerrry busy year for my uhmm.... 'modelling carreer' indeed. Big Smile [:D]Big Smile [:D]

NOTE: The three 1s are numbered 1 on purpose. :o)

That's a very long list for the rest of the year Lipton. As for me here's my list:

  • Finish detailing my 18 ton half-track for the Nationals & the German competition in December. I call it, after 3 facelifting procedures as FAMO v. 3.0 (lol!!)

  • Start detailing (if it's still possible) my Panther G

  • Add more groundwork to my teeny weeny fallschirmjager tank hunters vignette

  • Add more groundwork to my dead tree vignette

  • Start building either the Sherman Firefly or the IS-2.

As you can see most of my work only involves enhancing finished models.

I hope to finish them soon!

Youre too modest, my friend. Ive seen your site and your works, and I have to say, they are very very impressive indeed! You really have to bring them to the Nationals and show your stuff to the rest of the country.

Fritz,

Ill keep you posted on the next sortie. Shonen's coming too. I wonder if Jeep would like to come?

finally my PCs on line, welcome back jepot! did you recieved the plans? Digs (Lt Tendencia) had the drawings sent to you since he had some staff from the hospital with him that day.

sorry about the tear, the paper was a little brittle when it went through the photocopy machine, i had to perform some damage control on them.

BTW Digs is interested in joining after knowing that the "others" are no longer with us as he hates the politics and you know what else..., he's already preping for the nationals.

shonen-red,

Thanks. There are some gaps especially in the parts of cruciform base but overall, it went well. The figures don't really look as good as the current figures from Dragon but for an old kit I think it is still very good.

does anyone knows what type of scheme was she painted between 1943-44?

rod

hi rod

the Enterprise had catapults since 1943 i'm not sure if they're Mk 3 or 4s, with regards to the tamiya kit, the enterprise is a generic yorktown class which means you can build it anyway you like except "as is" if you want accuracy, modifications will have to be made mostly on the AA arrangements, radars and yes, 2 catapults slightly pitched and not in parallel and her later version she received torpedo blisters, these are bulges on both sides of her hull.

hmmm, in 1943 the Enterprise was painted in standard measure overall navy grey untill in mid 1944 when it was painted in cammouflage measure 33, Design 4ab (light grey, med. grey, blue grey) 4ab denotes the cammo pattern. i'm still browsing through my references on the pattern and anything related to her.

you can check out "naval historical center.com" for more info.

hope this helps.

BigMan,

i asked natalie for the prices of the mod kits im planning to order, the flightpath F-15 tail pipe set cost PHP 3790.00, my goodness, it cost more than the F-15E kit itself. Its not practical to buy and natalie said that flightpath kits are really expensive. now i know.

I also looked throught hannants, the description of the flightpath F-15 tail pipe set said that it was only made of photo etched parts, so long for a replacement for a seamless exhaust cans.

can't help but seeing you guys in this situation:

"baby, those are daddy's... those are mine. they are called models. they are not toys. (pointing to the kid's toys) those are yours. those are your toys. go play with them, dear! (add daddy's sweetest smile to convince the baby here)"

then the kid replies, "but, daddy your models are prettier! i want to see your planes fly!" baby then grabs the favorite build as the model learned to fly by itself towards the wall...

there goes another battle casualty!

train them while young, ladies! Big Smile [:D] we, too will soon be "weathered"

All are Academy in 1:48th scale po. I can't decide since they're all good. Oh, except the F4U-1D Corsair which I think is a re-box, but with patience will turn out a great model.

OFF-TOPIC:
Di ko pa ma-pinturahan yung 'Wildcat' interiors coz I don't have yet the Gunze paints (H14, H27, H301 and a retarder). I know the formula for the colors, but I dont want to mix paint for uniformity's sake.

lipton,

you can consider using tamiya's F4U-1D instead of academy's F4U-1D (i think its hobbycraft's mold) since it has optional wingfold and flaps can be dropped. and of course better overall detail and cockpit than academy's offering. very good fit too. Thumbs Up [tup]

but price is i think about P150 - P200 more than the academy Sad [:(](without the tow tractor) but lesser the headache and time to build Tongue [:P] . check it out and see to appreciate.

but i suggest you build academy's P47 (D or N) instead since i have a very good walkaround book.Laugh [(-D]Laugh [(-D]

Ngek! Last time I visit Lil's Mega, the Corsair without the tractor is not available. The one with the tractor is a bit expensive so I settled for the Academy instead.

There's one thing I noticed, the panel lines where the wings are to be folded are different with F4U-1A and F4U-1D. At least that's what my reference indicates (a drawing outline of a -1A). I'm planning to back-date the 1D to a 1A since the subject I want to model is a 1A (used by an Ace pilot in the Pacific theatre)

Wow! That's great! Di' na ako mag su-surf. I'm eyeing the one version with a 'Rabbit' (Bugs-bunny??) nose art, I think that one is used by the Allies' in one of their campaigns in Italy.

If possible can I borrow it po? Big Smile [:D] Big Smile [:D] Big Smile [:D]
