Back from a brief provincial assignement and looks like I missed lots of things including the Trumpex.Disapprove [V]

Anyway here is the latest from my bench (which is actually the dining table...Big Smile [:D])

This is not the usual thing I do but somehow I managed to have progress on it after a long while...

This kit has it all. Big Smile [:D]
Warped pieces, bent parts, flash, injection marks, incomplete instructions etc. Or perhaps I just don't have the skill to do this kind of things. Tongue [:P] It was a tough fight keeping the two halves of the hull together as the plastic seems to be immune to glue. I tried to straighten some bent parts but they snap off... Angry [:(!] .

Anyway I worked on it and I opted for the simplified rigging. I am working on a sturdier base for this one, then I'll take clearer pics outside.

BTW it is the Revell 1/83 Mayflower for the wife. Approve [^] One year + in the making. Blush [:I]

Dwight,

Thats fine shipbuilding you did on the Mayflower. Nice!

Zeroinfrance,

Hey, great to see you here too. The Sprayworks is a good set up. Complete pa and all you have to buy in addition is the coverter/adaptor (although Im not sure if the newer model still requires this). I used that for years and di ako nagsisi. It takes a while to get used to, but when you do, you can do a lot of things with it. Bigman's works are testament to this.

You might need some practice to perfect the preshading technique using the basic Sprayworks set. Same goes with fine, soft edged camo. But the trick is sa edges gawin mong malabnaw ang paint mix and spray the color demarcation lines repeatedly until you get a well-defined edge.

Hope this helps.

you know what... i might get enough courage to prepare for this big one....

although... remember my gyan, kuya?

how about i enter this one? <ROTFLMAO>

Why not? Malay mo the judges will like it? Hodiba? Tongue [:P]

Well, this how my walking apartment looks so far. Big Smile [:D]

The tracks are on temporarily. I will fix them after I paint the lower hull and the road wheels.

I want to show the right side where I put some battle damage and broken track but the picture didn't turn out well.

More on this next week. Wink [;)]

zeke,

The tracks are a bit tight but you can force it to sag by pins planted at the side of the lower hull. I believe I used the hot screw driver technique.

hay nakow...  hayun...  my entry broke one of its legs.  i was so upset since a couple of weeks back.

i have been meaning to fix it but then, with it having something missing makes me lose my interest to finish it...

hmmm, its too quiet here...everybody must be enjoying watching the stuff displayed at the Nationals.

Man, you would have a headache watching all the beauties there, over 400 entries so I heard from one of the IPMS BA members....

Go there fellow Filipino modellers and enjoy the show!

Hi, a question on spray booth blowers
Posted by Anonymous on Monday, December 26, 2005 11:09 AM
Hi,

A Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.  I'm kinda new to modeling having only started last month, trying out a tank and a couple of mecha.  I haven't finished any of them though, since i've been busy reading up on how to build stuff and carefully (well more like obsesively ^_^) trying to do things right.  I was pleasantly surprised to find out about this forum and that its well populated by Filipinos.

I have a question for you people though with regards to spray booth blowers.  I've been looking around in hardware stores (southern Manila area) for them but all seem to be under powered when compared to the 100 to 200 cfm rating recommeneded (worse they have cubic meter per hour ratings).  Do any of you have suggestions or information on brands or places to buy satisfactory blowers / fans; or better yet have a setup you use which i can follow.  Thanks again.

welcome to the FSM forums dude! i haven't tried using a spray booth coz my room is my spray booth :D but some of my friends say they use fans used for pc cases. i think those 120mm ones. i'm new also to modeling, started about 5 months ago. you live in the south? peace!

mine too ^_^  i got quite dizzy the other week though from marathon spraying (tried painting two models at once to save time and paint) despite having a respirator and open room.  I'm spraying gunze sangyo acrylics thinned with alcohol by the way.

yep i heard that pc fans a quite good too, problem is i need ducting.  I already bought a masano exhaust fan with a duct port.  I'll try shooting some lacquer thinner into one of these days to see if it blows up ^_^.  I live in Paranaque, which is convinient since STC has two branches near my area.

Anyways a Happy New Year to you all.
