Noel,

To me it has always been about sharing my talent with others. Way back in my elementary and high school days, I use to draw/sketch for people ( classmates, friends, teachers) for free and didn't mind giving them away. As long as they appreciate what I drew then I'm happy. So I guess my attitude about parting with my works stem from that.
What I love most about model making is the building. Like youl said, you put your heart into it and then some.Improving your skills, raising the bar a notch higher with every kit you make until you produce something that others will gasp at. But still, satisfaction is denied because you know every mistake and mishap that occured in the building process so you build another hoping to get everything right this time around. And sometimes it happens. To me, this is what modelling is. It is about the building and not finish product itself. It is a journey that detrmines how you arrive at and perceive your destination.
Most people treat model making a hobby, to me it's an artform.

Hey sigman,
I've been doing models for decades. Started out with aircraft but recently moved to armor and battleships. The latest I'm working on is the recent Tamiya re-issue of an M3 Lee. Currently gathering materials (e.g. PE sets) for a recently acquired 1/350 Arizona. The best model I've ever built is the one I haven't bought yet. It;s nice to know there is an IPMS in Manila. I tried to join once but they never returned my call. :-(
By the way, where can one get a decent 1/35 Scorpion light tank?

Mr. Alvarez,

In behalf of the officers of IPMS Manila, I apologize for not responding to your call. We have always tried our best to contact every applicant and every member about our club affairs. I guess, we failed on one and it happened to be on your call.

Please email me your contact number so I can call you asap. Or better yet, join us this sunday and see for yourself what IPMS Manila is all about.

So you are a ship builder too?! I got two kits which have not been available in Manila. These are the ICM Konig and ICM Grobber Kurfurst WWI battleships kits. Both are 1/350 scale. I should receive them by June. I already have the PE's. God I can't wait to receive them.Tongue [:P]

Noel, by the way you describe that you're waiting fo the ICM Konig and ICM Kurfust, it seem like you order it from outside Philippines? Where did you order kits and modeling items that are not available here?

Sigman,

I ordered it thru an auction in Ebay and had it delivered to my aunt in SFO. They are scheduled to come this June for a wedding.

I'm here in the Philippines now. Though I frequent the US.

ReggieFrancia,

Hi Reggie, how's sunny California, have made your mind to stay there or your coming back to Meycauayan and IPMS Manila

Ben Borja

Sadly i'm staying here for good. I miss Meycauayan terribly! I'm studying now for my board exam and ofcourse building models. I recently bought (finally!) a mini compressor. It's an Iwata Smart jet. It's smart alright turns itself off when i'm not airbrushing.

Mang Ben any new recruits from our home town?

Rico do you do models full time? What was that site again that has your models?

Mang Noel, can you change my membership status just like mr. lucban? I'll be missing most of the meets from now on kasi.Disapprove [V] But i'll be going back there maybe this October for some unfinished business.

Mang Art how's the baby?

Mang Abet how' it going?

Ah guys i remembered when we first met last March somebody asked me if I knew a certain Mr. Francia but i don't remeber his name.

Hey men and lady MJT, am also a shipbuilder though a frustrated pilot during my Feati days, aslo put my fingers on armour and aircrafts, if anybody need PE for the ships I think stc have some on thier inventory specially for 350 scale.

To : Ferdie (ZamboCity) come on man, join us in the forum and meet new modelling friends.

To : Sigman, just finish our first IPMS Manila interclub contest this PM attend no less by
lady dean of UP College of Architecture and our patron, fellow modeller Rep. Rene
Villarde who handed the throphies to the winners.

WE have a nice and good day , my teeny weenie Dragon 1/72 scale Kingtiger got me
a thrid place trophy for the ffort, too good for the spirit.

Happy modelling to all!!!

Congratulations Mang Ben!

Mang Ben,

Can you ask Sir Winston if he sells Gunze-Sangyo lacquer paints by the bulk? Like a whole stand. i think like every color has 10 bottles each row. They don't sell it here in the U.S. because of it's flammabel properties. I'm stuck using the acrylics. I'm not used to using acrylics it chips off easily. and when i handle it like snapping a part together after paintin and letting it dry 92 days) i still get finger print marks on the surface.

I think he sells it 75 pesos/ bottle. Maybe i can get it cheaper if i buy it by the bulk. Thanks!

Mang Art (Lordtorqmada),

Not that old.Smile [:)] i'm just used to adressing people older than me 'sir' or 'mang'. Heck if the english language would permit me to say 'po and opo i would! Modelings fine i'm still getiing the hang of using acrylics and airbrushing @ 11 degrees celsius.Big Smile [:D] I bought a Gundam RX-79 {G} last week and completed painting it yesterday. The kit was OK all parts were nicely molded and fits very good. But the dry transfers was very annoying! some of the decals were already stuck to the wax paper! i'm planning on doing some battle damage where the decals should go.

Ben,

Either STC Filinvest (same as emjaetee's) or Hobbitoi in ATC would be fine. Smile [:)] But I'd rather you request them to send it to Hobbitoi so as "magkaron naman ng benta si" Karen and Grace. Tongue [:P] ehehehe

The model is similar to emjatee's.... a Dragon 1/144 F-14A.
And if there still are some in stock .... any ARII Macross 15th Anniversary 1/100 Valkyrie/Gerwalk/Battroid kits.

Thanks
