1/48 Monogram B-17G Flying Fortress

This is truning out incredible.  I will try and make it to MI for this event.  Really want to see this in person after following for a year.

Are the rivets raised or just regular decals?

The B-17 was not the smoothest of aircraft, but it was one of the sturdiest... All rivets all over!

Yepper.. Lots o' rivets, and over-lapping panels. VERY few butt-jointed panels.....

Their raised Hans.  Thousands of them.  All raised.

  I've been using a ponce-wheel for flush-rivet  detail amd it's outstanding for it, but it doesn't work well for raised rivets, obviously....

They are a little pricey.......$17.95 for 108" of .028" pitch, 44" of .068 pitch, and 36" of .095 pitch.....I'm on my 3rd sheet with the wings being complete.  I figure one more sheet should do it.  (I hope)

Absolutely astounding work and attention to detail. Can't wait to see the finished product

it's been SO long since I've seen this..... and I was just blown away! Amazing.... words cannot accurately describe my awe.

I'm getting burned out on rivets.  Hopefully by next weekend, I'll have the fuselage in prime!

Keep up the great work.  detailed work takes time and from the look sofar it has been well worth it.

Wings are attached, everything is primed so it's time to start lying down some color..............

We have color on the bottom.  Neutral Gray.  Pre-Shading is very faint.

I used Tamiya Flat Earth XF-52 as the primary color. Then dry brused Red Brown XF-64 to make it look that way

Olive Drab top coat.  I have to fix a few areas then a coat of future.

Must feel good to see the light at the end of the tunnel! That`s the most detailed `17 I`ve ever seen...excellent work!

Installed the Horizontal Stabilizers, Elevators, Rudder, and Ailerons.  Everything functions....... Thank God.    I sprayed a coat of Future Floor Wax to the top side, bottom later tonight.

Model Master Acrylic.  It's a little dark for my liking.  I'll tone it down after decals.

Started the decals today.  I should be able to finish them tomorrow night.

This build has me feeling a zombie fan waiting for the next episode of The Walking Dead....  every time I see you update your post I get excited.  Great work.

Stunning work so far... the pre-shade on the undersides worked just like it should. Very good job!
