How on earth did I miss the news this was finally being produced? I know Lucas has been working on Red Tails since forever. Awesome to see it finally coming to the screen.

Honestly, I don't care about the CGI. How else are they going to film those massive air battles in and around so many bombers? Besides, they've got until January to clean that up. My bigger fear is Lucas' involvement, honestly. After the prequels, I'm extremely jaded.

On the Bench: 1/32 Trumpeter P-47 | 1/32 Hasegawa Bf 109G | 1/144 Eduard MiG-21MF x2

looks interesting...I also agree with Hammer......too heavy on the CGI....for me.....annd as long as they keep the "cheese" out of this one like they did with that Pearl Harbor garbage....it should be ok....

I am keeping my fingers crossed that Lucas finds his old magic and tells a good story. The visuals are stunning, but I hope they don't override the subject of the story- the airmen. But yes it is very nice to see the    P-40s and the P-51s in proper Red Tail guise. I hope they also show the P-47s as well. I will definitely go see this one in the theater when it comes out. Good war movies are few and far between. I hope this is one of them. The subject matter is certainly a great tale. I can overlook a few markings flaws for a great story.

Looks like its going to be a good movie. Dang I have to wait till January.

Already noticed some inaccuracy. The B-17s are painted in the markings of the 381 BG, 1 BW, 8th Air Force.  The 332 FG was in the 15th Air Force and never escorted any bombers from the 8th.

Won't keep me from watching it.

While I'm like Hans, and view 'inspired by actual events' with caution, I will DEFINATELY see this movie.

The trailer looks great (CGI is amazing).........   hopefully it will be what we all want it to be

(not a lot of ridiculous baggage)

Enjoy the ride!

One thing to look forward to, and not seen on the trailer,is there are NO love stories.  Wasted time showing the troops' girlfriends/wifes... whatever, in war movies is a turnoff for me.  Specially in Hostorical Fiction films (enter Pearl Harbor).  If I want to see love intrests stories (other than love for weapons), I'd go see a "chick-flick."

I am watching this one for sure.

Fingers crossed that they don't Hollyweirdize what the Red Tails did ... ESPECIALLY in this PC-driven age we find ourselves in. But I agree with Hans, it's got to be better than the barely lip service that The Tuskeegee Airmen paid to those men. The problem with all of the "based-on-actual-events" films is that once they hit the big screen, that becomes the reality/history for 99.9% of the general public. Witness Saving Private Ryan and D-Day ...

But still, if it gives those few remaining Red Tail veterans their moment in the sun, some good will come of it despite the Hollyweird treatment.

Looks like it beats hell outta that HBO puker, "The Tuskeegee Airmen"... Actually saw P-40s...

Still, I don't get too wound-up about these kind of films anymore...  "Based Upon Actual Events" usually means, "A LOT of This is Fiction"...  Got a feeling that the trailer shows the majority of the air combat scenes, and mos of the movie will be on the "ground"...

Hope I'm wrong...
