Thanks Jay Jay, that's nice of you to say.  But I really think you shouldn't stop modelling purely because it's an awful lot of fun!!

These are all so nice.  Now I know for sure my next kit has to be a Corsair!!  Here are the last two Tamiya kits I built...  1/48 thunderbolt and the famous 1 32 spitfire.

Another classic.  Tamiya 1/48 spitfire mk 1  OOB

Same background as the 109 so it's a little out of place.  I haven't found a suitable image of the English countryside to make a worthy background for a spit yet.

Let's just say the pilot got lost.

I guess I should post a few of mine.   You've probably never seen one of these before. Wink

Tamiya 1/48 bf-109e-4/7 trop

OOB except for some resin weighted wheels.  (and my wife's hair for an antennae wire.)

I used Don's tip for shooting against a printed background. It made a world of difference!

The camera angle is a little high.  -or maybe it was taken by someone passing by in a 110.

Wow, beautiful work guys!!! I was looking though my photos and hate to say it but it seems most of my stuff seems to be Hasegawa instead of Tamiya or Monogram! Embarrassed

Anyway a few Tamiya kits here- P-47D

El Salvadorian F4U- great kit and one of the more inexpensive Tamiya models:

I did this Do 335 not long ago for the Arrow GB. This is the Tamiya 1/48 heavy fighter version. I opened her up and used CMK and Quickboost resin engines and fuel tank. I also added a set of Eduard seat belts but the cockpit is otherwise OOB. I used solder wire for the engine plumbing.

WOW!  Some great builds here!  But I think Josiah has a pretty cool set up with the Corsair and Zero!  Very cool!

Joe, what did you think about the P-51 B/C build?  I'm wanting to do the "Gruesome Twosome" at 1:48 for my wife, so I don't mind spending the money if it's worth it....  Raymond

It was great.  I can't recall any fit issues...typical 90's Tamiya.   I did use a Verlinden cockpit.  Here's my WIP for that particular build if you would care to check it out.

Ray: I've got the link bookmarked from when I was referencing it for Mustang info.  He's also got a story about Bill Overstreet at the beginning you'll like.  I have it here for you to jump to.  This way you can dig through it at your leisure. =]  Joe's pretty thorough about what he likes and dislikes about a build.

Joe: That's a helluva lot of Tamiya kits!  I hadn't realized they have all be Tamiya until now I think. lol

Wow, there are some very nice builds here.

Despite having about 5 in the stash, I've just realised I've only built two.  I do have a number of armour builds too.

This one's about 5 years old. I feel i've improved since then.

I completed this one only a month or so ago.
