The A was used during the Spanish civil war and by WW2 had be relegated to training units. I have seen no referance of it being used in combay during the war. The B was first introduce during the Spanish war as well, but of course that carried on into WW2.

This is the 72nd A i built a couple of years back with the pre war scheme that was in use right upto the start of WW2.

If you fancy going bigger, there is the Airfix 1/24th Ju 87B. I got that a while back and its a great looking kit. And Trump are supposed to be releaseing a 24th 87D.

Thanks Bish!  That was very insightful.  For just the moment, I like the A.  May I assume it was used at the start of WWII?  If so, I would like to build something of that nature.  Thank you again sir.

I would like to get a couple of the Trump Stuka's, the A and B. But they both suffer from accuracy issues around the engine which has put me off, but one of these days i will just go for it. My 1/32nd Stuka collection feels very incomplete with just a single kit.

If you do get a trumpeter Stuka, which one would you recommend? I look forward to your reply and answer!

Toshi

Well, if i do get one, or should i say when, i will get both. Being a Stuka fan, i can never have enough. As i understand it, both kits are very nicely detailed, with just the small accuracy issue if that concerns you. The A and B have a differant apperance so it would boil down to which you liked the look of, the scheme and if you wanted a war time bird.

The A is not a version thats seen much, it has a very 1930's look.

Trump also do an 87G which i believe is very nice as well. I already have the Hasegawa G, so the Trump kit is not on my shopping list. I don't know if that suffers from the same issues as the other kits.

The G is a very late model and i believe that the Trump kit comes with the most popular markings for that type, those of the aircraft flown by Hans Rudel.

If you ever do a 190, I have some pics of a replica built with most of the original tooling.  In the Erickson Collection.  Don't know how much use they would be, but will send them when you get there.

Looking good so far, are you giong to leave a panel off so the engine is shown?

Sorry Goldhammer, I missed your post yesterday.  I'm still not 100%.  Luckily, Mrs. Toshi and my daughter helped me with this threads and others as well then, pointed out that I forgot/missed to reply to you.  My apologies sir!

I would be honored in that you would send me information regarding the future build of the 190!  Thank you so much for thinking of me goldhammer.

I'm heavily addicted to showing off any detail what so ever.  Just like my visible B-17G, Me 262, and the SBD Dauntless.   To the best of my abilities, I will try my best to display the "Gustav" without the panels to show all engine details.  As always, your guess is correct sir.  Thank you so much for the visit, read, and reply.

To Scott RC,

Thank you sir, and I have a long road ahead, LOL!  Thanks for the visit.

Toshi

To Bish,

I would like to build the Trumpeter 1:32.  But, I need to get an ok from Mrs. Toshi.  What I had in mind was something nostalgic like the Monogram 1:48 Stuka.  I always wanted to make that but as a youngster, my focus was American aircrafts.  That was due to the TV show Baa Baa Blacksheep.  LOL!

Nice to see you doing a proper fighter Toshi Wink. Some nice work on the pit there.

As for your next German subject, well, i am biased, but how about a Stuka.

Thanks Bish.  I was contemplating either the 109 or the Stuka.  The Stuka will be my next German kit to build.  I love that the Stuka has such an unusual bent wing like the Corsair.  Very cool.  Thank you for visiting!

Toshi

Thats good to hear. Theres quite a few nice 32nd kits to choose from, and you can add me to the watch list before you even start.

Toshi, that bird has the same markings as my F-4 that I built. I'm pretty sure it's the same pilot. He was one of the hightest scoring aces for Germany until he was captured. Nice work on a cool aircraft. I'll be watching.

BK, are you reffering to the markings on the box art or one of the other options.

Mopar Madness

Fantastic start.  This one is going to look great I'm sure!  I wish I had available shelf space so I could delve into some of these fabulous 1/32 kits!

Sorry, I don't know how I missed this post.  Thank you Mopar Madness!  I'm in need of space soon.  I've taken a couple of completed builds over to the VFW.  They really enjoy it and I have a little more space available now.  LOL!

Here's my next project as far as the discussion.  It comes with PE!  Since when?  WOW!  LOL!

I have that kit in the stash and is labeled by Monogram as "Hi tech" cause of the tiny pe set included which is a nice touch. Even though it's an old mold and it has some shape issues it's still the only 1/48 Kingfisher available. I also have a 1/48 Curtiss S03C Seamew from Czech Models that is really nice.

Nice work, Toshi. How are you liking the Tamiya weathering kits? I had to try several different methods with those before I found what works for me. You're kickin' A' again.

BK

As always, thank you for the read and reply!  I bought part C first and totally went rabid with it.  It made my P-61 look Like?  I can't explain.  LOL.  Like everything in this world, a little trail and error corrected my madness.  I love it so much, I purchased part A and B.  For a novice like me, it is so fun, I just need to add a little at a time and not go hog wild.  LOL!

I saw this seller with a complete set of the Tamiya Weatherine set.  $48.00 free shipping.  Very tempting when one of these retails anywhere from $8.00 to $10.00.  I think there's six sets total?

To PlasticJunkie,

I know exactly what you're talking about.  I've been searching for a Kingfisher for almost nine months.  I wanted to build that as my first comeback build.  Of course I chose the P-61 instead.

I had to build the original Monogram as it was out of pure nostalgia or stupidity in my case!  LOL!  I don't know what to expect but thats what makes this hobby so fun and exciting.  LOL!  Sometimes frustrating as well.  Whew!

Looking good so far Toshi.  Your engine painting is very convincing and looks cool.

I am surprised that for a large scale, pricey kit that the machine guns aren't cast very well though.

Thank you sir!  I went a little artistic when it came to weathering the kit. I can only guess what these things look like in WWII.  As for the guns?  My bad, but I like it.  I mixed black and gun metal together to get this extra thick coat.  I mixed in some pigment with it to get it a rough and beat up look.  It may be wrong?  Like I said I have no idea what they look like in WWII.  Thank you sir for the read and reply.  I so enjoy our conversations.

Ernie,

I will be looking for that 1/32 Kingfisher.  I'm building the Revell 1/48 now. I haven't been on this kit for the last 6 weeks while waiting for the Lone Star resin cockpit set to arrive, but it finally arived yesterday YAAAAY.  Actually I started this kit over a year ago but had much trouble receiving the cockpit set.  The first one I ordered " got lost in the mail "  I hafta do everything at least twice lately.

It's coming along very nicely. Now that you tried 1/32 pe, how about doing 1/72 or 1/144 pe on a future project?

1/72,1/144, I think I'm not ready for such a task.  Future project?  Even then I question my abilities.  LOL!  I know my next build is a Monogram Kingfisher with some PE in 1/48.  I'll stick with that for now.  LOL!  Thanks for the visit.
