I guessing you missed my post.  Did you ever find the other stamps?

To PlasticJunkie,

No sir, I don't know where they are at this moment as it's in storage.  I did find another set that for me was very significant being an American in Europe.  I feel it's inappropriate to post photos of these stamps as they depict Adolf Hitler and I don't want to offend anyone.

I collect such items as for it's historical significance.  My theory is that if you do not know your past, your future is bleak.  Or as I tell my children, weak.  I just wanted to insure that I don't loose my membership on FSM but more importantly not to offend my fellow brothers and sisters that read and contribute to this wonderful sharing tool that we have.

I am still looking for those stamps and will not stop until I find them.  It's driving me crazy!  LOL!  I know it's in a special stock book as it's a set that is a sur-tax and in mint not hinged fine condition.  Most of the stamps from that era are decently centered and some in pristine museum quality condition.  Thank you sir for your time and I appolagize for missing that post.

By the way PlasticJunkie,

That happens to be my favorite set due to the fact of the Stuka Dive Bombers!  Thank you again sir for your interest.

Thank you very much sir.  I find it interesting as well actually, I was stunned when I first learned of this from the History Channel.  I couldn't believe something like this predates our stealth fighter/bomber.

When I first saw this model, I thought it was one of those visible models like the legendary Monogram Visible B-17G Flying Fortress.  When it was a completely 100% visible model, I was estatic.  My issue was do I paint half, paint it whole, or no paint at all.  It took me a week to make my mind up.  I'm glad I chose this rendition.  Thank you sir for the read and reply!

If I may add Bossman,

Please visit another unique aircraft thread.  I'm building a Zoukei Mura Kyushu Shinden.  Like the Ho 229, it's way ahead of it's time, I just hope that I can keep up my build quality in of the Shinden kit.  You forum members are light years ahead of me.  One day, one day!

Ah yes, the legendary Monogram Visible models . . .

When I was 12 or 13 years old my parents bought me the Monogram Huey helicopter for Christmas.  I think it was a 1/35 scale model - It was HUGE for models back then.  Alot of the interior pieces were molded in color (silver, black, ZnCr Green).  Probably one of the best gifts I can remember as a kid.

And the motor that turned the rotors actually worked !

Great fun !

Toshi,

You've done a wonderful job on this most interesting aircraft. My hat's off to you sir. Toast

Is the stamp on the third row, third column depicting an Arado?

Oh Yes, I remember the Huey as well as the Visible V-8, Visible Human Being, Visible P-51, and the Visible Polaris Submarine!  There are or were a few more I missed as well as those mechanical kits.  There was one that I fondly recall that was a silver egg shape airplane with a propeller that spun and wings that flapped up and down like a bird.  LOL!  All by and made by Monogram.  Thank you for the memories my friend!!!!  LOL!  LOL!

Is the stamp on the third row, third column depicting an Arado?

Mike

Thank you 1943Mike, you're too kind and a good friend!  As for the stamp in the third row, it's listed in the Scotts Catalog as:

Grossdeutsches Reich 1944, March 11

Scott #B266 20 + 10ph Bright Blue

Used $0.70 Mint Not Hinged (MNH) $1.25

Only a modeler/historian would ask such a question and be correct in my humble opinion.  I looked at it with my visor and a loupe.  Going through the Internet, that's the best conclusion I could come up with in that it does look like a twin pantoon Arado.  I think that's called an Arado Ar 196 if I'm not mistaken.  As always, I can be very wrong!  LOL!  Maybe GMorrison could chime in on this?

For Fathers Day, Mrs. Toshi re-purchased for me the entire set in Mint Not Hinged (MNH) Extra Fine Condition (EFC).  This set in that condition usually sells for $25.00-$30.00.  Mrs. Toshi found it on eBay for $13.95 + $2.65 S&H.  She also purchased a MNH EFC 150th Anniversary Death of Mozart Stamp from the 3rd Reich era.  That way I don't have to search for it and I have a much better set than the last.  This is thanks to you my friend!!!!  When I receive it, it'll be posted post haste.  LOL!

To my fellow forum members,

Here are the final set of stamps that are of interest to you all.  Thank you so much for inquiring in regards to this set!  There is a third set of which has no scenes such as this as well as the previous set.  Hence I will not include that set on this thread.

Like the first set, these stamps are a part of the Memorial Day sur-tax stamps.  If you notice on the stamps as an example, there is a large denomination plus a smaller denomination.  The large denomination is the actual cost of postage to post your mail. The smaller denomination goes to the Memorial Day fund.  We all know that the sur-tax went straight to the funding of the Third Reich to continue their futile effort to win a loosing war against the Allies.  Possibly into the pockets of high ranking Nazi officials.

As promised please view the set below.  The last photo as forum members can see is the Stuka dive bombers.  I know Bish will enjoy that photo!  Thank you again for allowing me to share my other hobby with you all.

That is so freaking cool Toshi! I remember when my parents bought their house in 1970 in Miami, I went up into the attic to clear out junk left by the previous owner. I pulled out about 8 Miami Herald Newspapers dating back to the WWII years. I remember one of them had a front page picture of a lady on the beach and a tanker burning in the distance. The headline read something like "German U Boat Sinks Tanker off Miami Beach Coast". The papers were in mint condition and complete. Unfortunately, they were accidentally somehow thrown away by either my mom or dad!! Crying

To my friend PlasticJunkie,

It is very very cool!!!

Can you imagine me in Amsterdam at 18?  I was introduced to this set by a curioso (antique) shop in my building that I lived in on the first floor.  I was astonished and speechless with my mouth gaping wide open!

I had no idea that there were such stamps printed by the Third Reich.  My biggest shock came when I saw postage stamps with Adolf Hitler on the stamp!  OMG!  The curiosi shop owner had to sell those stamps to me under the table as at that time (I don't know about the current laws in Europe as this was in the 80's.  Now, everything has changed due to the current state of the European Union) they were illegal.  Anything that depicted the Third Reich was not a good thing, especially in Germany.

My loft where I lived was Ersta Van Der Helt Straat 74.  I lived on the third floor.  From my front windows I could see the Heineken factory, Van Mops Diamond, and the Open Market.  That was an exciting time in my life and I so enjoyed it.  Thank you for bringing back such fond memories for me!  I'm so glad you enjoyed this set of Postzegels (Stamps in Dutch).
