You're making great progress!

Funny about almost mounting the cockpit backwards I used to play an old flight simulator years ago (probably twenty or so) called 'Aces of the Pacific' and the Shinden was in the expansion World War II: 1946. Took me awhile to deal with them since leading the target you shoot ahead of the enemy plane but since it looks like it's flying backwards I always ended up shooting way behind it instead of in front!

Looks good Tosh, you  are well on your way.

Thank you my friend!  I don't think I'm well on my way.  LOL!  I just had some minor issues with installing the 4 cannons.  Oh well.  Anyway, thanks for visiting!

That's very funny!  LOL!  As I assemble the Shinden, I keep in mind that I'm building a gyro copter from the James Bond movie; "You Only Live Twice".  The frame looks just like it.  This helps me focus in the correct direction, of which is backwards not forwards.  LOL!

Wow !  Very detailed interior parts Toshi.  I hope this kit has a lot of open hatches to display the work that you put into it.

Watching the NBA Playoffs with Mrs. Toshi while I build the Shinden.  3rd. Quarter GS 46 - CLE 67.  Wow, really.  I'm shocked at such a wide difference!

Anyway, I tore apart the supercharger from the engine as when I dry fitted the engine block, it was 1/8 of an inch off.  Too forward, whoa!  So I took care of the exhaust and will work on this issue later.

I'm a die hard fan of the NFL!  I love all 32 teams!!!  I'm so so with basketball but since the Cavs are playing in game 6 playoffs, I've got to see this especially with the score so, WOW!

What a beautiful Friday arternoon.  I hope the rest of you forum members are enjoying your day.  I got to spend time with Mrs. Toshi.  I made us a salad for lunch.  This is something that I have a hard time doing.  Isn't that just odd?  I can make models but I have a hard time preparing meals.  LOL!

I had to cut and sand down a section of the supercharger in order for it to fit into the engine mount.  I don't know if it was my fault or Zoukei Mura?  I dry fitted everything twice, glue once.  I don't get it.  Eventually, everything worked out in my favor and I'm very glad of the outcome!  You be the judge!

She's lookin' good Toshi. And yeah she does look like some sort of speeder bike, I kinda thinking of one of those Soviet Aerosan sleds with the prop in the back.

Here is the Kyushu Shinden.  The first photo is of the manual to show you the next couple of steps.  So far with the front landing gear bay attached, I should be placing the fueselage together later today or early tomorrow.

Looks great, thus far!

A small warning...by design, tolerences are very tight, when it comes to the fuselage parts. If anything is even the slightest bit off, things get worse and worse as you continue. I didn't get too far out of whack, and the casual observer would not notice...but I'm a picky SOB. Regardless, I enjoyed building the kit and have another in the stash.....huge thanks to ZM for the review samples!

I was watching several YouTube videos of the Zoukei Mura Shinden.  One presentation really caught my eye.  It was a Shinden with a German night fighter camouflage motif.  This Luftwaffe Shinden was beyond cool!

What's reality is that I still have the ZM 1:48 Ho 229 decals as many of you know that I built the Ho 229 clear.  Now I've got other options in finishing this kit.  I'm very excited!  To all you fathers out there; "Happy Fathers Day"!

Please see my progress below.

This looks like a smaller version of the 1/32 scale one that I saw at the IPMS Nationals. The details are just awesome and is one unique looking aircraft.

Looks like  you are doing a good job on the internals and will be quite a display piece next to your Horten. Only 2 prototypes were built and only one survived so the markings and paint options are quite limited unless one does a "What if" version.

Thanks plasticjunkie.  From what I've seen in reviews and what read, both 1:32 and 1:48 are very similar.  That's one of the reasons I went with the 1:48.

Yes!  That's what I saw via YouTube, a Luftwaffe Shinden in a night fighter camouflage motif!  That was a very exciting what if.  I've also seen Zoukei Mura Shinden that was painted based on a anime theme.  Thank's for the visit!

Gamera

Thanks Gamera!  I did come across a couple of gaps that needed putty work, but that's ok.  I'll fix that and move right along as you so stated.  This is a really neat and fun kit to build.  It's a very exciting experience to see this build come together, you'll feel the same when you start yours!  Will you be starting on your Zoukei Mura Shinden build anytime soon?  I could learn so much from you!

On another note, I finally threw away my broken Revell of Germany Dornier Arrow last night while I was watching Game 7 of the NBA Finals.  Wow, the Cleveland Cavaliers won!  My feelings were somewhat conflicted.  I was glad the Cavs won!  I was upset looking down in the trash bin at my broken Arrow! LOL!

I want to build the Zoukei Mura's 1:32 Dornier Arrow but, OMG!  It's so expensive!  I'll see if ZM releases a 1:48 Arrow if they ever do one.  Until then, I'll be Internet shopping for one.  LOL!

Going back to the Shinden subject, later today I will post my progress on my  Shinden build.  I assembled the majority of the fueselage and am sanding putty and seams at this time.  Thank you my friend for stopping by today.  You definately made my day!

Thanks Toshi, I need to get this big Zero finished first and a 1/72nd B-17G for a friend first. Then I might consider giving it a try. Sorry to hear about your Do-335, that blows.

Wow, you've got your hands full.  Sometimes that's a good thing to keep busy.  As for my Arrow, yea it definately does blow.  That's ok, I'll told myself to just build another one.  Thank you for the reply!
