To my fellow forum members,
This is how far I got with the Starfighter. I had real problems with this build. Actually more so with the paints. I had the F-104 primed, sanded, and had MM enamel chrome silver applied with an AB. I sealed it with clear gloss after allowing the NMF cure for a week. When it came time to mask the Starfighter, disaster struck!
I used Tamiya and Frog tape, both tapes pulled off the NMF up to the primer! I literally freaked out and became very upset. I couldn't understand what was going on. How was I going to fix this? I wet sanded the F-104, then I hand painted the NMF on. What you see below is my handi-work. I'm very pleased with the outcome.
I'm very happy to say that I had practiced hand brushing with the last build of which was the Zoukei Mura Kyushu Shinden. I was weary to do so at first but once I got started, everything fell into place for the Shinden build. I was hesitant to hand brush the MM enamel chrome silver. As you can see below, it turned out well, at least to my humble opinion. Thank you forum members for visiting this build!

Great recovery, Toshi! I've been watching awhile and have enjoyed your work emmensely. I would have lost my mind if I'd pulled up the NMF, but you've done a wonderful job in recovering it. Well done, sir!
