Twin Engine Fighters GB
Posted by bspeed on Tuesday, September 9, 2008 2:30 PM

Twin Engines (Prop/Jet) any era, any nation.

Primary Role : Fighter/Heavy Fighter

Secondary Role as Light Bomber/DiveBomber, etc is OK.

Start Date: Sep. 10, 2008

End Date Sep 10, 2009

A PRIZE is involved! ( A bribe to join)

We need 4 others as minimum

A twin engine Kit as a Free prize..at end date :)

Method of Choosing a winner: I will use a computer program to "roll the dice" for each person, in turn, one roll at a time, UNTIL, a PAIR (TWIN!) is rolled. that be the winna. Value of kit will be less than $30. Just cause i like doing stuff like that.

Badge to be figured out in a few weeks!

Cool idea...

You might want to gain some interest by posting on the aircraft link as well.

Hmm, what to choose?

I've got the Nichimo Ki-45 kit which I started last week, the Tamiya Gekko (early and late versions), a ProModeller Bf.110G, and a Beaufighter...

Very much so!  Please do hang out with us :)

What I do, is go to Wikipedia, and search the Aircraft.  the description in the Box to the Right of the Page has a "Role" title, indicating what, I will take to be its primary role.

I could be tempted to join with something, not sure what. The Eduard BF110 in captured markings is tempting.

I may join as I have several possibles in the stash ... a 1/32 Messerschmitt Bf 110, Tamiya 1/48 kits such as the Do 335, Mosquito, Beaufighter, Me 262 ... but I also have several unfinished builds ahead of me so it will really depend on when the end date is.

bspeed, its Very tempting!I`m in 2 gb right now, as you know. I have something in mind, but its a HUGE undertaking, and I dont know if I could possibly finish it in time. I have a Trump P38LO5 and a hole box of resin and pe to convert to a P38M. But as right now, I dont know if I have the skill to finish it in time. I`m kinda strugling with what I got..........But I am tempted.........Harv

great idea... at least timeframe is until fall next year, since I have few Gbs and months of building before I get to this one... badge ideas? Not sure what to pick yet... cross-overs allowed? I do have the Revell P-61 and the P-61 GB ends Dec 09, I may get very brave and attempt that one... or less brave and tacle the R/M P-38s in my stash. Or Bf 110...mm decisions decisions!

no problem on Crossovers!  I often wondered about that in other builds.

My Son is working on Drawing a Badge. It will then be Photographed/scanned, etc.

If he will send me the Original Artwork, I will see about making Scans and printing them to Mail out, for display in your Airplane Factory (workshop) !

well, i am in for sure, just have to dwell a bit on what to build... Im not experienced enough to tackle the revell P61 but maybe i can learn from the masters in here... anyways, add me and i will decide down the road if that is ok, I wont be able to start till the new year in either case :)

cheers

Sometimes, I purposely look for the simpler kits, old Monogram, whatnot, just to make the building easier. no one sees my models, save for what pics I might post! I am relativly inexperienced my self.

I like this. I think I want in. I just need to find some time and make a decision on what to build. Easy, right? Never, but we'll make it work.
