That's 3 for the present then.

I think the method I'll use will be to write each name metal tokens I have, shake them up in a coffee can and pick the two winners.

Official PBY New Year wishes to ALL from the BVD!

Consider it done Frankie!

I believe I'll close entries Saturday

In the interests of being fair:

The BVD shall close canopy mask raffle entries tomorrow (Saturday) at noon and hold the drawing at 1pm!

The drawing will be unscientific.....tokens with names in a coffee can......held above my head.....shake the can.....pull a token.......shake again......pull the second winner.

Simple as that! This has been a pleasant diversion and I thank all participants. Besides, it's a way to promote the GB!

Amongst the 17 builds I have going is this the Pearl Harbor GB PBY....go figure.

When building the wingtips.....the left and right wingtip inserts....trim carefully and look for very tiny bits of flash. It should be sanded off to conform with the basic shape of the part. The wing on this kit can be tough to mate 100% correctly so the law of diminishing returns applies. DRY FIT and trim/sand accordingly!

Also, with the outer wingtip floats....I flat sanded the sides with the pin sockets to get a better fit. After dry-fitting I decided not to sand any outer edges until the float halves are joined. You may do things differently, but I believe sanding the join afterward will lessen the need for putty/filler. And it is going to need sanding.

That leaves you two options Frankie! Winner #1 or a non-winner!

The BVD shall hold in abeyance the washing requirements. There may be reprisals!

It shall be taken under advisement! The BVD feels that any winner of this raffle/lottery should talk-up the PBY GB.

The alternative is too grisly to countenance!Blindfold [X-)]

The BVD has seen proper to promote some active players in this GB.

Front page has been updated.

The Daywalker has been elevated to mine own personal rank of full lieutenant....(but I'm senior Mister, so watch it!).....and shall take an accustomed place as XO for this GB! (I've seen his resume).

Also for participating that some missed.....

MKelley, Tlivansco, and Summit....have been elevated to Chief Warrant Officer (Pilot status) for their help in promotion of this GB!

BS! Your teeth were fine when I came up with this!Laugh [(-D]

The tokens are from a local supermarket......redeemable......and I always forget to bring them!

But next time I'm in a peep-show, I'll try one!

Sean! Sorry you and Thom missed out on the drawing! But it was done all fair and square (though Barney was sleeping!)

Wish there had been a dozen entrants.....would have made it easier!

Thanks for your support!

Whistling [:-^] Or am I to take on additional responsiblity and duties for little or no compensation other than the satisfaction of a job well done? Laugh [(-D] Thanks again for the masks.

Eh no matter, some Fitbin sniped me on the decals I had bid on that I wanted for my 1/48 PBY anyway.  Angry [:(!]

Progress on the 1/72 , got the inside ejector pin holes filled and the interior painted green. I do believe this is my First Academy Kit to be started on. The Plastic seems softer then some of the other kits I have built.

I was excited over the Academy 1/72 PBY decals though, I have read that Academy Decals are horrible and thick, those black stripes will slice up and make good canopy frames.

Sean-

Which decals are you trying to get?  For a -5 or a -5A?  I bought some Aeromasters from Squadron a while back for a -5, and only need the markings for one of the featured aircraft.

I am building the second from the top, you are wecome to any of the others.

I dearly hope the PBYer's are beer drinkers!

Once I begin my PBY, I shall promote myself to Commodore.....Master of the Commode! I shall keep an eye on day to day ops here and promote according to building and ale use!

Currently LT Daywalker is XO. But as builds take shape many will be designated as XO of their ship and thereby an XO  here!

Also, I have grabbed a hint from Mike and am adding a tagname to the build!

I know of at least one PBYer that does indeed consume the afore mentioned spirit Whistling [:-^].
