Bish- Very nice Ostwind, I think I have to add one of those to my inventory. I also really like your Kugelblitz.
Wingnut-I don't know how you build those tiny tanks and make them look so good. I've got a couple that I'm messing around with, a whole different animal compared to their larger brothers.
Bushi- looking good , keep up the great work!!
Dupes- I should have a few more Panzer IV's to add to my count very shortly, my Ausf. J Late is pretty much done, and I have a couple of , ( yes I said a couple ) Tamiya Ausf. H's almost done. Gotta love those Tamiya kits, practically build themselves.

As in Klink? lol
Great Job everyone!
I hope to have my H done.,,, VERY soon.. just some finaly detail work needs to be done, then final weathering..
The J is on roadwheels, tracks and tools next...
Kugelblitz may get started soon...ahh.. hohoho..!

I lost count of the roadwheels several months back...going to have to go back through the entire thread some time soon (one of the next two weekends) to do the "official" count. With everything everyone is wrapping up in the next couple of weeks, I'm pretty confident we'll make it to 1,000!

Chris - I like it!
Couple of little things, however...first, your tracks are on backwards. Not sure how easy that will be to fix or not. Is this the Italeri kit? If so, I think you've built a G here, not an H. Unless this is the Tamiya H? I'm not familiar enough with the details of either kit to be able to tell which one it is.
Like your tarp on the back of the turret...where'd you source that guy from?
PZ88... thnaks guy... glad oyu like it.
It looks real nice Chris. Never know it's been 25 years. I dig that horseshoe on the front.
Watch out for alignment of the parts. The right headlight looks like it is leaning in a bit. It can be bent like that to give some interest to the subject but it would need to be dinged on the side to show a reason why it's bent. Like you left rear mud guard. the spring is detached but the corner looks bashed so they relate to each other. The fire extinguisher should be paint the same as the tank, not red.
Marc
1st, tanks for all the compliments...
Marc, this is the Italeri Kit, it's "supposed" to be the Ausf H. In the kit instructions, the only differance was the barrel version, and this kit is old so the Italeri research/detail may be not up to today's standards. As for the tracks being on backwards..AAAAHHH,, !! I don't remember either the Italeri instructions, nor the Academy indie ones, saying that they were handed.. ( I'd have to go back and double ck...) and I can't remove them to fix it...The tarp on the back came from the J kit's extra goodies that came with that Ebay score.. it was a resin detial kit with lots of tarps, bags, knapsacks etc.. I may use more of them on the Tamiya J.
Wingnut.., thanks to..! as for the bent headlight.. it was actualy an error on my part that happened during the glue drying when I wasn't in the room.. it tipped on me then dried that way so I left it.. I figured some DAK soldier climbing on the tank used it as a hand hold and bent it.. he was a fluffy soldier.. The fire extinguiser, I beleive the Italeri instructions indicated it being red, again, I'd have to double chk..I do know I've seen most everyone else's I've seen is the tank color, but I thought I'd be differant it I thought it gave some contrast( i know very bad for camo reasons..)
thanks everyone for the tips and compliments and schooling...
Ps.. the horseshoe was kinda neet to.. it came on the PE set I got with the J kit score.. I has 2, I will put one on the J also.. the PE instructions says many tankers welded them to the front for good luck..
P38:don't let the tracks being on backwards bother you to much as I,yes I,have commited that one, looking over my shoulder at my display I count three, that I still have not corrected. And you know what I believe it was DUPES who busted me on that oversight as well.Sharp eye thatDupes.Great looking build though I keep a couple of the old tamiya and Italeri panzer 4's around just in case.
p38jl Marc, this is the Italeri Kit, it's "supposed" to be the Ausf H. In the kit instructions, the only differance was the barrel version, and this kit is old so the Italeri research/detail may be not up to today's standards.

Doesn't the old Italeri kit build into an F1/F2/G?
Detailfreak.. Thanks,, I don't feel so bad now..lol.. Yup.. Marc is a sharp cookie.. He lives near me and we've met more than a few times to swap tips,, check out each others builds...etc..etc..
Marc, now that u say that.. I believe that Italeri does build those versions.. not sure WHERE I got the H from.. I must be getting old...?? ??... Maybe I need to call the Scooter Store?? maybe they have a model with an onboard air compressor ??
p38jl Looks really nice, like it alot. As has been said, hard to believe you not built armour for so long. I wouldn't worry about the tracks, just mark that down to experiance. I as pretty sure it should be an Ausf G as i think the H was to late for africa and they all had schurzen plates fitted ( i think)

Nice job Chris. I like the camo scheme, and the way you painted the muffler.........nice!
Nate
Het everyone, all the builds look great. Keep up the fantastic work. Well here is my update, and if every thing goes good tomorrow I should finish it up. Sorry I did not get the F-1 or the H done, but if all works for me during Christmas with eleven days off and I have a Dragon F-2(G) waiting. Can I pull it off wait and see.
So fire away at the pics and yes I like a dirty tank.
Bushi
She's dirty alright!
Bushi:good to see the airbrush problem has'nt stopped you.I wonder if your camera settings or lighting are making your mud look pink on my monitor.Kinda reminds me of Ft.Benning Ga..Keep the updates coming in.
Bish, and Nacht, thanks again! Although I haven't built armor in decades, I have been building airplanes and some autos, mostly 1/48 WWII fighters and bombers.
I was pretty happy with my results, and the J model I hope to have done soon,, then I am going to try to bang out the Kubelblitz...
Chris
First armor kit in 25 years??!! You're kidding me, man! Well done.
As far as the tracks, don't sweat it. I have seen wartime photos of them on 'backwards'. At least you did not do the same thing I did with my Stug IV - put one on each way... Oi, that took some fixin'.
Same goes for the fire extinguisher. Wbill posted some pics a while back of actual extinguishers. Some were in various vehicle colors, but some were also red. Truth be told, I often intentionally paint mine red just because I like the splash of color.
All in all, I think you did a heck of a job.

Hey guys,
Well, my frustration with the new site has limited my desire to participate here too much in recent weeks. However, I can say that construction of my Mobelwagen is done (that gun is a kit within a kit!) and has a coat of black primer on it. I got to the point of being fed up with the site the other day and almost decided to throw a pirate flag on it, label it the 'Black Pearl' and be done with it... but I talked myself off that ledge...
Anyways... no pics for you right now... might try to shoot a couple tonight (so long as my basement is above freezing)...
Thanks bbrownnii !
bbrowniii I seem to have missed your posts on a Mobelwagen, which kit are you doing as it doesn't seemt o be on the front page. I'm not that keen on the new site either, but trying to stick with it and slowly getting used to it, but i still wouldn't com[lain if we went back to the old one.
WOULDN'T COMPLAIN!
If there were still a "laughing" emoticon, I would have put about 25 of them down. I certainly "wouldn't complain" either if it went back to the way it was...
Still want to see that Mobelwagen there, Boyd. You have 2 weeks.
Two weeks -- this GB has been a long one, for sure, and I wish I'd been able to crank out more product. I have piles of IV kits now but... The Echelon Decals for that old IV H/J were not possible to obtain, so that one's on the back burner, I never got back to the Italeri Jagdpanzer, and the Brumbar hasn't arrived. GRR!
On the upside, the wash and drybrushing of the StuG IV are nearly finished. external fittings are the next main job, get the muffler realistically rusted, do the tools and jack block... The standoff armor and rails are nearly ready, and I'll be opening the gunner's hatch soon. Come what may, this one will be done by new Year!
I hope we have a 1000 Roadwheels II at some point, if the popularity of this one is anything to go by folks would sign up in a flash!
Cheers, Mike/TB379

Ye, i would deffinatly second that. Maybe for 2011 or 12. I've got 3 more Pz IV flaks, an Ausf J and a Hummel munitions carrier, and bound to have a few more by then.
dupes i was just useing typical British understament . I am hopeing that the usual excellent American cumstomer relations i have found over the years will apply here and they will either change it back or change this and make it more like the old one.
Hey Everyone, here is my last update on my Tamiya Panzer IV Ausf. D. I hope everyone likes it. Detail the florescence lighting and the flash has made the mud look a little pink I think! Looks like NC and GA mud. I plan to start on my Dragon model# 6360 Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.F2(G) and try to finish it by Dec. 31 for my second stripe Wish me luck. Any an ALL comments welcomed.
Well guys here are some pics in natural light. Tell me what you think.
Not enough time for proper replies...hope to be able to sit down tomorrow. Think I'll be able to start in on my final project for the GB tonight - hope I'm able to cram in a full build in the next two weeks (along with everyone else, apparently!).
No worries fellas - 1,000 Roadwheels will happen again.
Question for you, though. Anyone up for a Panzer III-based GB, instead? Probably getting a bit ahead of myself. See you all soon.
Great work!!!

I would be depending on when you plan on doing it. I have a few GB's lined up and then the IMS IV. I have to try and calm down on my GB's, i currently 5 kits that i still have to do Dio's for and will have at 3 least 3 more done beforee i get to any more Dios. The GB fever really got to me.
I would love a Pz. III build! I have some excellent Tamiya and Dragon Panzer IIIs and StuG IIIs in the stash. May I suggest a Pz. III GB, then back to the Pz. IV theme?
