Really good work.. I envy you... But it looks a little blue? Tongue [:P]

And sure those markings are of the Mossie who attacked GeStaPo? Mischief [:-,]

Thank you Huxy.

There were four aircraft involved in the mission to Oslo Gestapo HQ from 105 Squadron (code letters GB). The markings, serial number and code letter "P", on this particular aircraft was assigned to 105 Sqn at that time based on my references but I can not say definitively if it was or was not on that mission. The only aircraft in the squadron I did know the code letter and serial number for I did not have the decals for in my supplies. One aircraft on that mission was shot down by FW-190s. Since the one I am representing was lost on a mission to Eindhoven Holland in 1943, I know it is not the one shot down. But it could have been one of the remaining two aircraft. That is the best I can do at this time based on what I have.

Yes, the Testors MM Ocean Grey has a bluish tint. That is one of the reasons I picked it. I like their shade of the color. I think it is more pronounced witht he lighting and the flash. I also have a color shot in my prime reference of this particular aircraft while new, before assignment to 105 Sqn. The Ocean Grey color is not too far off when compared to the photo.

Once I decided to do this kit/GB, I did a bit of research to make sure it would fit in properly. Glad I could spread the knowledge with you. I will see what I can do about scanning the pics and sending them to you. They are all in books.

Hey Huxy, The prop looks lots better than the original before you fixed it. That's pretty good customer service from AirfixThumbs Up [tup]. Looking forward to seeing the Gladiator updates.

HUXY, PM sent regarding possibilites. I have spent some time looking but there is more info on the naval battle than the ground war.

Interesting that most of the online info just about ignores the Norway 2 month defense YET it was a strategic need of the 3rd Reich for raw materials to keep their war machine going.

from what I gathered the Norway army was either still using horses or was infantry {ok, a bunch were on skis Big Smile [:D]}. did they use any motorized trucks/tanks that could be modeled? I would prefer to model something to honor Norway's fight {don't have a problem modeling German stuff}I will do a soft skin Axis if that is all that I can do in 1/48th

Shock [:O] Shocking but true, I actually finished a GB kit well in advance of the deadline. Here she is, my 105 Sqn. Mosquito B. IV. As I posted previously, this particular Mossie was in 105 Sqn at the time of the Oslo raid, but I can not say conclusively if it did or did not go on that mission. But since 105 Sqn did that mission, she will represent. This has to be the quickest build and finishing job I have  done on a kit in years. I also think that it shows in some places as a result. A good fun build of a classic kit and a good learning experience.

I hope you like....

Hey stikpusher, The Mosquito looks great! The #1 GB requirement(have fun) was met. I liked the research also. IMO the historical aspect of a build is as important as the build itself. Top marks.Thumbs Up [tup]

I would like to be added to the list. a Krupp Protze with a pile of junk in the truck and maybe towing some flak gun all in 1/48 will be using the Black Dog resin AM parts.

Hey Jay, The condor is looking great. Love the interior shots, very nice.

Huxy, IMO I would go with the silver, and shade with either gray, or a blue/grey. Dullcoat, then use thinned future lightly applied on the metal surfaces (just to get a semi gloss).

 Looking forward to updates.

Hey huxy, I plan on getting the FW 190 under way soon. Going to be crossing my fingers with this one. I've only done a couple of the WWII aircraft. Looking forward to getting started.

Glad to hear that, Mobious! Can't wait to see another plane from the occupationforce.. Wink [;)]

I myself have only done two planes.. I have two WIPs now. This and an IL2. Really, I have only 4 planes that are built/WIP.. Except some others that I built as a little kid tough... But ya, I'm sure you've built more than me! Smile [:)]

Anyways.. A little update from the hoster himself.

A little profile picture I got in a book. You can see it's depicted with a silver drab. But I'm so afraid of metallics on such a big surface that it has to wait Tongue [:P] I say my light grey looks good..

You can also see the nose depicted gold. But the other picture I posted once, No. 423, has a black nose..

And I painted the nose brass.

Well, I started striping. Also note the metalic on the nose. Masked and fixed!

I found a nice position of the striping, which was the RNoAF 1937-40 markings. Masking the position and start painting..

And then cutting the maskingtape into smaller stripes. No idea why, as it's unesecery. But good practise !

Then the white:

Then the finished..  The maskingtape "leaks" a little, so I had to touch up with the brush. All in all, 2 hours of work. I have also done the underside, Went a little quicker. Do note aswell, I have made the blue stripe slightly thicker, so it looks better.

[EDIT] Ahh.. Forgot to mention.. I have painted the plane in a light grey overall, as you see!! Smile [:)]

That was it from me! Some steps closer to the badge! Big Smile [:D]
